I just opened up a brand new discovery out of the Sangre de Cristo mountains for my lapidary studio, Terra Arcana.
With the classic Utah agatized coral and bone deposits disappearing, the market is starving for high-end fossil material. This new Sangre de Cristo "Red Horn Coral" doesn't just replace the Utah stuff; it outperforms it. It is significantly denser, meaning it doesn't have the crumbling or pitting issues when you apply heavy bezel pressure, and it takes a flawless glass polish.
The colors are also entirely undocumented—blood-red cellular structures wrapping around pale, crystalline "phantom cores".
I cut this entire first batch strictly for silversmiths:
Strict Thickness: Held between 1/4" and 3/8". No massive, domed rocks that force you to build 10 miles of bezel wire.
Girdles: Cut with a deliberate taper to let the silver fold flat without kinking or cracking the edge.
I am launching Drop 001 of this Red Horn Coral shortly. If you are looking to set a brand new, high-grade American gemstone before the commercial market floods it, let me know what you think of the
Take a closer look at this beautiful pair of blue gemstones featuring rich navy-blue tones, natural white veining, and subtle earthy accents. The oval cabochon cut highlights the unique patterns and color variations in each stone, making the pair an interesting choice for jewelry makers, gemstone collectors, and custom design projects. Although the two stones share a similar appearance, each has its own distinctive pattern. What do you think of this blue-and-white combination, and how would you use these stones in a jewelry design?

Video of ultra weird ultra sparkly quartz druzy over hematite, goethite, and pyrolusite (plus who knows what else) from my home state for attention.
It seems almost everyone and every post here is a sale post, but I was really hoping to find some people to trade my hounded finds or lucky extras with. 😅 I fear I might be the only one here though. Anyone else?
For starters, I live in MI and have access to a lot of fossil coral, chert/banded chert, copper rocks, and every color combo of granite imaginable. To me, these are no longer "a big deal" because they're everywhere here, but i remember when I first moved here and everything was amazing. I have a few buckets of everything.
I'm sure most rockhounds have something specific to their state/area that I don't have. We could trade!
I also have some more special extras and scraps. Like for example, I have small jars full of tiny pieces of pink and green tourmaline. Not every one is perfect, but some are. I have a jar of larimar chips, a jar of raw labradorite jewelry rough, some pink opal, some epidote specimens. I could send one/some to you for the price of a stamp in exchange for something else. I know you got extras! We could trade!
Basically I'm thinking someone could make a post with what they are offering for trade, people could comment with what they have available, and the OP could accept or decline the trade.
I'm even willing to start, I just don't know if there's anyone else out there who's interested....😅

I have a unique set of Pd/Pt+Au bearing ore minerals available. I have sold these through Reddit on a few occasions but rarely get around to re-post. Most of our sales are to Geology departments, PGM collectors, small-scale refiners, and to lapidaries.
A couple notes: To Lapidaries: Many of these minerals have a serpentinite component which means asbestos fibers when cut/ground. Please use caution if you intend to purchase these for this purpose. To small-scale refiners: Platinum-Group metals occur at part per million levels within sulfide hosts- processing these specimens for metal content is extremely difficult and should not be done without a great deal of experience handling acids, refractory metals, and fume hoods.
These were originally collected over the last decade for building education sets which profile the lifespan of the unique mineralization of the Stillwater Complex in Montana. In general, major economic operations mine these materials in their "fresh" non-altered, partially enriched forms at around 9-24 grams of Pd/Pt per metric ton of rock processed. These specimens can show grades significantly higher than general mine grades, some reaching well into the 150g/t+ area.
The set contains specifically: Sulfidic Anorthosite/Troctolite, Sulfidic Dunite/Pegmatitic Dunite, Sulfidic Serpentinite, Mineralized Bronzitite/Pyroxenite, Mineralized Gabbronorite (II). These specimens are catalogued, come with providence sheets detailing mass, specific gravity, locality, and composition. These are generally net-textured sulfide in silicate or post-sulfide gossanous in silicate.
Please reach out for a more complete list of what is available currently. Base pricing is as follows but pricing on large pieces varies based on specimen size:
Sulfidic Anorthosite / Troctolite / Leuconorite
~1–20 g/t Pd/Pt+Au
Mixed Small Lots (Per 30g / ~1oz): $20
Small Whole Specimens (Under 30g): $24.
Medium Whole Specimens (30g – 90g): $38.

Bigger Cabinet Specimens (150g+): $85, may vary depending on specific piece - reach out for photos.

Mid-to-Low Sulfide Tier

Many specimens like the ones pictured are still available in different sizes. As they are all very unique and tell their own story, the pricing can vary for pieces which are similar in size or weight. That said, I have specimens as small as 6g and specimens as large as 50lbs. I guarantee I can find something within your size/price range if this is something you are genuinely interested in.
Bulk pricing is available in most cases. Discounts for verified educators/universities are available as well. All of that being said, we want to help get these into the hands of people who are passionate about rockhounding, prospecting, geochemistry, and would like a living piece of one of the most complex mineral systems on earth.
Please feel free to reach out for information, photos, and more! I am always more than happy to discuss this mineralization whether you intend on purchasing anything or not.
