What variety of squash/gourd is this? (Grown at school garden in Chicago, IL). All 3 fruits are from the same plant.

We did not intentionally plant it this year. We think it popped up from one of the seeds we sowed last year that never germinated. I don’t know what varieties we grew last year. I also don’t know if we only planted seeds we bought or any seeds we saved from previous years (which have the potential of being hybrid from cross pollination)

At the park of the city, Tirana, i found this plant and saw some old ladies picking lots of them up. It reminded me of saffron immediately and i AI-d the pictures but they are always in doubts. Location where it was founded Tirana, Albania (Mediterranean, south east Europe).

Hi again! I came here a couple years ago because some new flowers started blooming in my backyard (apparently it was duckweed) and now I have some new ones. I’m in North Houston for reference.

It looked really prehistoric and cool. It was at least 15ft tall and the 'trunk' was made of layered leaves. After a storm, the weird pods attached to its vines (bottom right) were scattered all over the path.

Been growing in my lawn near clover. Located South Sydney nsw. Quite aromatic when rubbed and crushed. Tiny white flowers and similar leaf texture to dill. My cat seems to enjoy it but im worried it might be bad for her.

Tree Need a Name

This tree has grown in our backyard for a year or two and is now about 10 meters tall. The leaves grow quite large (pictured) and they radiate three to a node, two opposite each other and one smaller leaf between the other two. I’d like to call it something other than “that odd tree” especially since we have three of them growing wild in our yard. Any thoughts? We are in central Ohio.

What's this ground cover?

I live in Los Angeles, bought a house that had a green yard that died soon after moving in. I assumed bc I wasn't watering it. It looked like just dirt all summer. We had rain and it's cooling and suddenly I'm getting green spread all over (except some blank spots). I'm trying to figure out the plant to make sure it's safe for my dog, and if it is to maybe get more seeds to fix the blank spots if it is a low maintenance ground cover. I've tried to include a wide shot and a close up of the plant. Its been growing for about a week.

Crossvine?

Dallas TX, after a brutal drought season (over 65 days with no rain!). Today I moved into this rental home, and my husband and I are in love with the gnarly vine wrapping around the porch. ID? The leaves look a bit like my mom’s crossvine, but I am not sure. I also saw some kind of bean/seed on the more lively section (second photo, such as it is). The trunk seems firm in some places and fairly desiccated in others. I’m hoping I can revive it for next spring! My impulse is a hard chop at what I am terming the nodes, but I would love a proper ID and advice first.

Poison ivy or Virginia Creeper?

Thumbnail

I currently have what I think is a poison ivy rash (walk in clinic agreed) and I’m trying to figure out where I got it. A few days before I moved some boxes that had a vine of these leaves. My identification app says it’s Virginia creeper but taken I have the rash I’m thinking ivy?

Mom scored this from the leaf dump. She would like to know what it is and how to care for it. Thanks!

What is this amazing variegated plant? (Miami-Dade)

A rare plant collector brought this beauty to the Tropical Fern & Exotic Plant Society meetup to show off recently. He said he didn't know what it was, though briefly mentioned perhaps a baobab, which seems impossible given the frond arrangement.

The longest pinnae/leaflets were about ~2-6 inches in length, and the entire plant was perhaps 3 feet wide in an 8 or 10 inch pot.

I ran the single photo I could take, attached to this post, through a few different AIs, Google Lens and other tools, but didn't come up with compelling answers. My best guess is now is that it's a Stangeria eriopus given the stalk branching and wavy leaflet shape.
