What if... You could pick a different...
If you could rework Into the Woods and pick out other stories and characters to use. You will still need a main couple (baker and his wife), a soon to be princess (Cinderella), and a curious child or two (Jack / Red).
Oh yea can't forget the Magical Antagonist (The Witch) anddddd go.....

Which dance class should I take?
Jazz, ballet, and tap dance. Due to financial constraints and scheduling I am fairly certain I can only do one dance class. There is also a musical theatre dance class, however, I was wondering if it would be better to take a class specific to one of the other three first? So should I start out with the musical theatre dance class? Or a class specifically for ballet, tap, or jazz? And if the latter, which one?

She recently performed in the Roc City Singers performance and recital, directed by the incredible Judith Ranaletta. Ella sang "Vanilla Ice Cream" from the musical She Loves Me, and completely blew the audience away!

Is “I Say No” from Heathers too overdone to use as one of my two audition songs for college? I’m not auditioning for a performing art school but rather a public university with a MT program if that matters.

Is it really possible for me to learn?
Hey, guys. I’m 17. I discovered my love for musical theatre a year or two ago. My closest friend and my vocal coach, whom I’ve been seeing for maybe two months, say my singing sounds good, but honestly I don’t think it sounds good at all. I can’t dance very well, but I can pick general movements up okay-ish. I like to think I’m a decent actor, except that whenever I try to do it infront of someone, I get super nervous and become a lot more “toned down.” But in my room at 3:00 am, I could run a whole Shakespeare play.
I really want to go into musical theatre. Obviously my dream is to do it as a career and live off of it. However, I am also content with just doing very consistent community theatre, and having it be a big part of my life. I guess I’m just wondering, is it possible? I know I’m starting late, so am I capable of learning? Can I actually learn to be a great performer, or do you really just need to be born with some natural talent? If God came down this moment and told me I was capable of learning to be a great actor/singer/dancer, I would put all of my time into it tomorrow. But am I? Is it too late for me? Can I learn to be great even though I’m not naturally good? Is it possible? Or should I just quit now and focus on something else, since this would be a waste of time?
(I’m not usually filled with this much self-doubt, it’s just been a long day.)

Looking for Proshots - Curtains and The King and I
During the pandemic there were proshots released of both The King and I (ft. Kelli O'Hara) and the UK tour of Curtains.
I'm working on a research paper on Rodgers and Hammerstein and would love to be able to analyze said production.
As for Curtains... I just wanna see it and enjoy it 😅
Any help would be appreciated!

Looking for the best way to support high school theater
Sorry if this isn't the sub for this, I'm not sure which sub would be the best.
I just want to know if there is anything as a parent to help support the school theater department, whether there are grants or some other ideas.
I did theatre for years at the same school my daughter goes to now. Even when I was there the sound equipment was old, but we would get the occasional new microphone or body mic. There was very minimal sound issues. During productions you could clearly hear everyone's lines and lyrics whether they were stage whispering or belting, and if you couldn't it was purely a diction issue.
Five years have passed and now I watch my (step)daughter's shows. Last night we watched Little Shop, unfortunately it was almost impossible to hear. There was a pit so they weren't competing with a track. Diction was a slight issue, but there was a bigger fish.
At times there wasn't sound from any of the mics, there was major feedback. Out of the 120min production there was probably only 45min that ran smooth. Not to mention there are only 3 speakers.
So if anyone has ideas on what we could do to better the sound systems, I would appreciate any and all ideas!
