A High Noon tall boy cost $30. I was expecting $20-25 but $30?! I could’ve had a cocktail for less
Edit to add: I had purposely set aside extra money for a drink or two. $30 for a tall boy was not what I was expecting

Obviously this is very mildly infuriating. The grocery store near me puts a sticker on all non bagged items. They usually put the sticker on top but this time put right on top. Really more funny than infuriating. When I peeled the sticker off it almost took the whole date off as well.

A few weeks ago my wife sent me two links to Kate Spade purses that she said she likes (hint hint). I immediately bought one for Christmas. I happen to have a little extra money at the moment and it was a clearance item so I didn't even really have to think about it.
Today, we were talking about the upcoming holidays and she randomly drops "btw I don't want those purses, they're ugly." I have no idea why she did a total 180 on them but I didn't do a great job hiding my disappointment and she realized I had already bought one.
She spent the remainder of the night saying she didn't mean it, and she was exaggerating and she see still wants it. I think she obviously meant what she said. But since it was clearance I can't do much about it besides try to sell it and take a loss on it and buy something else.
It was nice having a big gift for her checked off early for Christmas but now I'm back to square one. I also can't even ask her what else she would want because she's going to insist the purse is fine.

I was talking Christmas plans with my coworkers and mentioned that my uncle Serg, who immigrated from Russia in the 90s, makes a huge deal out of Christmas and came up with a bunch of traditions. Before I even finished my sentence, the new guys cuts in with "Actually, its pronounced Sergei, and Russians don't celebrate western Christmas, because it's not a festival for the -oh, what's the word in english, OH- Orthodox religion. I lived in Russia for a while in my 20s, it was a really weird culture shock." We all just nodded awkwardly and carried on, but dude. I will call MY uncle the name he asked me to use, and he may not have grown up celebrating western christmas, but he has for the last 30-some years. Quit acting like you know my family better than I do just because you lived in his home country for a hot second. And don’t act like you forgot the word "orthodox", weirdo.
Edit: Serg's full name is Sergei, so my coworker didn’t correct my pronunciation so much as assume I was mispronouncing it. So using the word "pronounce" in the title was a little misleading. Serg has only gone by Serg for my entire life, I've never heard anybody-family, friends, acquaintances-call him anything else.

After 3 system restarts and a software update check, this is still happening 😞
Edit: I posted a video of my daughters TV having a crisis and displaying the Amazon logo, and somehow ended up in a investigation. We’ve got the glare police, the video editing experts, the “if you waited 2 milliseconds” scientists, and now the CPS task force because my daughter dared to put Miss Rachel on for her little brother. You are analyzing a sped-up video of a broken TV a bit too much. But thank you all for your professional assessments. The TV is still broken, Amazon is still advertising itself, my daughter is still putting on Miss Rachel for her brother, And the TV is being replaced. Case closed.

So this happened while being home and relaxing I decide to go out for dinner at a restaurant my friends kept mentioning and what was supposed to be a nice evening ended with one of the most awkward payment experiences Ive had in a while. The food was good, the service was decent and everything seemed perfectly normal until the bill arrived and I noticed they already added a 20% automatic gratuity. I wasn't exactly thrilled about it especially since nobody mentioned it beforehand but I figured it was fine. Then the waiter brought over the card machine. The screen immediately asked me how much I wanted to tip, with options for 18%, 20%, and 25%. No obvious explanation that gratuity was already included. I paused for a second, thinking I'd misunderstood the bill. The worst part? The waiter was standing right next to me, looking at the screen while I tried to figure out how to skip the additional tip. I selected no additional tip and the whole interaction suddenly felt incredibly uncomfortable. I have absolutely no problem tipping people for good service. But adding 20% automatically and then putting customers in a position where they feel pressured to tip AGAIN just seems ridiculous. Dinner was supposed to be the enjoyable part of my evening, not a math test followed by a guilt trip.

Who drinks 1/3 of a can? I saw a can of pringles the other day and it says a serving is 14 chips. Who eats just 14 in one sitting? You know you are going to eat the whole can.
Just makes me do mental math! I hate using my brain /j

Thankfully I took pictures, I had cleaned out my gallery a week earlier thinking I was in the clear, thankfully I was able to recover the photos. Salesman was being super pushy on the extra insurance, guess they try to get there money by any means.

My wife and I are looking for a place to renovate, and saw this near our hometown, no price listed, and we got interested...
81 m2 (870 sqft) house, 1648 m2 (17.700 sqft) lot, which is a common size for this rural region with an agricultural past. Positive note is that this has also has a view to lake Balaton so we were hopeful, but had our expectations fairly low. But nothing could have prepared us for the actual listing:
80 million HUF (217000 EUR/242000 USD)
(with another 10-20 mil for the complete restoration)
This price gets you a brand new, well equipped apartement in the capital.
Mind you, we are in the bottom 10 poorest countries in the EU...
