I’m a long time associate of a small law firm. Meron ding mga clients and money is flowing naman. I only go to the office if kailangan talaga or if from a hearing. I spend most of the time at home. Yung boss ko will always say na if walang gagawin sa office wag na mag report basta lahat nang deliverables on time, hearings are attended, and mga clients na entertain.

Sometimes macocompare ko sarili ko sa mga colleagues ko na araw araw may hearing at palaging busy at walang tulog parang na fofomo ako. Haha

Now, I assisted them in the amendment of their corporation’s articles because i added a primary purpose. Now I don’t know how muchnto charge for the service. Mga magkano siya?

If overzealous lawyers kayo and napaka charitable niyo edi more power sa inyo but not everyone should be forced to do it for free. We are already overburdened as it is with so many other responsibilities outside of work and dagdag niyo pa yang ULAS na yan.

ANG TOTOO: This is just one way to outsource an activity that should have been a PUBLIC SERVICE. naging burden pa ng private sector ang kakulangan niyo.

I got admitted to the Bar this year and joined a GOCC in Makati shortly afterward. I initially just wanted to work in gov't but didn’t plan on ending up in a GOCC (I blindly applied).

Pay is very good, we have a 4-day RTO / 1-day WFH setup, medical benefits, shuttle service, and a pretty great work-life balance. 40 hours a week. Workload is manageable. Not so much that you’re constantly swamped, but enough to keep things productive without being boring. There's that feeling of fulfillment. I’m honestly surprised by how much I like it here.

Curious how it is for everyone else, whether you’re in government, GOCCs, BigLaw, other firms, solo prac (especially in the provinces), in-house, or any other area of practice.

The prosecution has already rested its case. I orally moved for leave to file a demurrer, but the court denied it without prejudice to filing one, subject to the consequences under the Rules.

I was expecting the court to grant leave, considering that the private complainant admitted during his testimony (reflected to sa TSN) that he offered to withdraw the case if the accused would testify against another person he was contemplating filing a case against. There were also material inconsistencies in the prosecution witnesses’ testimonies.

If you were in my shoes, would you risk filing a demurrer without leave or proceed with presenting defense evidence?

Order says pre-marking of exhibits shall be done before the clerk of court. Just confirming po if informal setup naman po ang pre-marking? Also, what else to prep ahead of time? First time ko po kasi na may judge na gusto naka pre-mark lahat ng exhibits.

The child’s Certificate of Live Birth correctly reflected the father’s surname at the time of registration. The father was later legally adopted and consequently acquired a new surname.

Is there an administrative remedy through the Local Civil Registrar/PSA to have the father’s new surname annotated or reflected in the child’s birth certificate, or would a judicial petition under Rule 108 be necessary?
