As a sporadic musician myself, I noticed Anirudh's music getting more and more suspisciously lower quality. A weird instrument here, a low quality vocal track there, didn't think much of it.
But in DC? Oh my goodness, this is the most prominent example of AI use for vocals I've ever seen.
Boom Baa Diga - Dude, who are these rappers? I can literally hear 2 male voices, and 1 female voice that don't appear in the credits. And that's besides Vedan. Who are they?
Hangova - The English lines sound like a New-York blues singer from the 90s, which is awesome. But you can't, for the life of me, convince me this is just Anirudh's voice. He's been lipsyncing that voice in the music video. It's so obvious that Ani's voice been altered by AI (Ani gave a reference track of his singing, and used generative AI to alter it). You can't use plugins to change the timbre of the voice like that.
Ain't Nobody - The saxophone interlude sounds terrible. The grain of the recording really makes it obvious that it's AI to a trained ear like mine, but not the average listener. Fair enough.
Malayla - The singer sounds Middle-Eastern. The whole song does. The singer credited : Ashwin Krishna, who has no other songs on their Spotify page. Suspicious much? Such a cool voice definitely would've had SOME other release.
Don't Give A Damn - Brother? Who's that Texas sounding singer? What the heck? Idhu Anirudh voice'nu sollaporeengala? And the overall arrangements also sound AI generated.
Yes, I can't prove the AI use. But it is still so obvious.
My question to you is : Didn't you notice any of this? And if you did, do you not care as long as the song is good?
Are you guys ok with the use of AI to this extent?
