General Defects are okay, but let's not defend big corp

Enjoying your duo? Good. Is there a potential issue with the screen? Likely. But I hate to see people feeling like they need to come in defense of these trillion dollar corporations. Especially given Apple had 7 years to learn from competitors to make an 'Apple worthy' product.

It’s very simple guys. Sporadic defects are normal and fine (so long as they don’t happen to me). And if they do happen to me then they’re atrocious and unacceptable.

Exactly, it does not happen to me so you must be using it wrong! (What is the right way of using it? I don’t know. The wrong way of using it? I don’t know either)

It’s so true. I love Apple and their products but this is not for me and it has some problems. Will it get better? Sure but let’s be honest it needs some help.

It’s insane how defensive the fanboys have been. Like they spent 2k on a defective phone… why are you defending a trillion dollar company 😂

Nobody is defending. But calling for a full recall is also kinda dumb. It's a manufacturing defect. Shit happens. Replace the device and carry on.

“nobody is defending”. They’re quite literally are hundreds of people in this exact forum defending them.

We’re HOPING it’s just a manufacturing defect

"Nobody is defending." That's absolutely a lie to anyone who spends five minutes in this sub.

Nobody is asking for a full recall but Apple keeping mum about the fiasco is unacceptable.

Fanatics are angry at people pointing out the Duo's flaws instead of getting disappointing at the quality check done by Apple.

A 5 trillion dollar company who spent years developing a foldable in a well-established industry of foldable devices shouldn't have this happen. It's embarrassing and inexcusable.

They had 8 years to copy Samsung and learn from them. Crazy.

The amount of “this has happened with the antenna thing” is complete bs. Ppl were upset then and can be upset now. The whole “first gen issues” gtfo here. Remember when the iPhone was bending in a fucking pocket? This should be flushed out with RND. Stop sucking the electric D. Two things can be true at once in this situation. You can be happy about it and disappointed in it.

Both sides just need to chill

The only one's annoyed should be the ones who bought the phones and then had this issue.

Everyone else is technically grifting or trolling. Like me, I'm here to grift by fanning flames while pretending to understand both sides

I think it’s more that a bunch of redditors, who don’t work for Apple or have access to any of their data or true failure rates, are acting like experts in what’s going on and at what scale.

At the same time, the idea that Apple is just going to smile and pretend everything is hunky dory is really silly. As with all new products, they’re almost certainly conducting an EFFA program, recapturing any devices that have failed, and analyzing the root cause(s) of those failures + any component and manufacturing patterns across them to isolate the problem and how to correct / prevent it (if that hasn’t already happened). Then they’ll also determine if some or all serial numbers need to be recalled and come up with an action plan.

Unfortunately that all involves real engineering and analytics that don’t move at the speed of social media. So while everyone is losing their shit here, I’m sure the adults in Cupertino are quite busy actually working the problem.

I can’t believe anyone is in the slightest surprised that a folding display is prone to breakage. I mean, come on people.

Doesn't mean that it should brake after a day you paying 2000 for it lmao, try refined foldables like Oppo, Motorola, Samsung, honor and Xiaomi then you will understand how apple is robbing you in broad aesthetic daylight
