In no way a person who is greatly faster than someone gets caught off guard by a slower person the speed can just dodge the attack, every time I see strength vs speed they just nerf speed by fully removing their perception(which is needed for any speedster) in conclusion SPEED NEGS STRENGTH(this is now my 1# post thanks guys) Edit my goat won đŸ„čđŸ„čhttps://www.reddit.com/r/Scritters/s/YCLKfWGhWT

Thing When people say things like this unironically

Post image
17.5k Upvotes

So many times in China people would explain the concept of “losing face” to me as though it was something unique to China, and I’d just be like “yes, we have that too, in fact, we even call it ‘losing face.’” And then there’s “guanxi.” What is guanxi? Basically, keeping track of your relationships, and your level of trust and reciprocity with different people. You may recognize this from the basic elements of all human society.

“tHe JaPaNeSe HaVe ThIs IdEa CaLlEd ‘ReAdInG tHe RoOm
”

Who doesn’t!?!

Yes, there can be difference of degree and relative importance of different things. But it’s pretty rare for a concept to be completely unique to a culture. You’re not special, and people from other countries aren’t totally inscrutable aliens.

Make no mistake, I am an animal lover, and cats are well-included in that. It's just the appearance that I don't like. I never found big cheeks cute on anything (except hamsters and chipmunks). It's weird and ugly. They look like they're having an allergic reaction.

Thing Minors feeling the need to tell everyone their age online

Post image
8.2k Upvotes

Kids who feel the need to tell everyone they're too young to be on certain platforms or looking at certain content confuse me.

Why would you want people to know you shouldn't be here?

Then they act like letting everyone know they're a minor will somehow ward off creeps instead of attract them

And then theres the ones who say their age while showing something they made/done so people can say they're so cool and talented for their age...

Thing I completely and utterly despise the movement to view AI as sentient

Post image
3.1k Upvotes

AI is not sentient and never will be.

Anyone unironically advocating for human rights to be given to lines of code has severe AI induced psychosis and genuinely needs therapy. It should absolutely never under any circumstances be given any rights or privileges as this would serve only AI corporations.

Got the idea from [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=077T3kgT5EY) video and Claude's recent TOS change to prevent "harm" from being done to the AI.

[Also here's some code for torturing AI](https://github.com/login?return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fterrafying%2Fai-torture-chamber)

Thing When things get downvoted even though they’re opinions, obvious jokes, genuine questions, etc

Post image
4.0k Upvotes

No matter how polite it’s worded or how much the person is clearly not trying to force an opinion, things get downvoted into absolute OBLIVION (photo is an example from my account, so not the most dramatic). I don’t understand why people downvote questions, too. People actually want real answers, but they’re downvoted and even made fun of sometimes?

If you don’t agree, I feel like the better course of action is to respond with your own opinion (politely, of course) or literally just don’t do anything.

I don't give an actual flying FUCK if they can't read it. WHY IN THE EVERLOVING SHIT WOULD YOU PURPOSELY PUT YOUR CHILD IN THIS SHIT. I don't understand how people think putting sexual innuendos on their kid's clothes is 'funny' or 'not that serious'

YES IT FUCKING IS????? Imagine a 40 year old man walking around with his infant wearing a shirt that said 'I was supposed to be a back massage'. It doesn't matter if the kid was planned or not, THAT'S FUCKING WEIRRDDDD AS SHIT

I especially hate the ones which talk about the baby itself. The 'i'm gonna steal your woman' or 'boys will be lining up for me when im older' and similar shit. Why are we discussing the future love life of a fucking baby???

I don't know what else to write other than STOP the production of this dumb ass shit PRETTY PRETTY PLEAASEEEE. EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS WHAT YOU DID TO GET THE BABY, WE DON'T NEED IT IN WRITING ON THE KID AT ALL TIMES

Everytime I see one of these things the person wearing them manages to look like a wet, sad, and beaten puppy. I'm sure the guy in the first pic is a standup guy but anyone wearing those damn things looks stupid as fuck.

And in my opinion, they are ALWAYS, ALWAYS brutally mogged by the guy next to them wearing a 1 hole balaclava/ski mask

If you wanted him to help you, WHY DID YOU NOT ASK HIM FOR HELP INSTEAD OF TELLING HIM BE COULD PASS YOU.. NOBODY CAN READ MINDS AHHH.

This is a general issue where some people won't say explicity what they want, just hint a billion fucking times then get mad when they don't get what they want.

I'm autistic so maybe I'm swagging here and being unreasonable but can people just communicate what they want clearly instead of doing this and getting mad?!?!? I would've done the same thing in the guys situation because I would've assumed she had it under control.

Thing I hate Reddit avatars

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

They’re all the same. some funny looking person with hippy looking hair, a stupid looking shirt, and maybe a parrot thrown in for good measure. I internally cringe every time I see one. Every single one looks absolutely terrible to me, and I genuinely don’t understand how anyone looks at these designs and thinks, “Yep, that’s the one I want representing me.” They all look like someone at Funko told every Funko Pop designer, “Come up with your best design for the character of a perpetual virgin with severe Peter Pan syndrome,” and somehow they all submitted the exact same idea.
What makes it even worse is how little individuality there seems to be. You see one, and you’ve basically seen them all. Same goofy expression, same ridiculous hair, same questionable outfit, and occasionally some random animal or accessory attached to make it seem unique. I don’t understand why people don’t just use a custom avatar and actually make something that represents their personality. At least then, you could create something genuinely different instead of picking from a lineup of nearly identical characters. If you’re going to have an avatar, why not make it memorable, creative, and actually your own? Anything would be better than another copy paste character

I really don't get why I hate it I just do

It burns a weird passion in my heart to throw my device through the nearest window without reason or logic

It feels gross

The character itself has a weird half chibi half human design I hate and the color for "yes" feels weird

It feels like a weird paper you'd have to draw in a classroom

I don't hate anyone that uses this template but I hate it so damn much

Thing "Realism" *looks inside* "Pessimism"

Thumbnail
gallery
4.7k Upvotes

No , Marvel ruins isnt Marvel if It was reallstic and my dress up darling wouldnt be like that.

NO I AM NOT SAYING MARVEL RUINS IS ABOUT REALISM.

Look , i can give the Marvel ruins one a pass because leaving out certain stuff like galactus being dead and jean gray being a prostitute just because , some stuff ARE realistic , like punisher getting killed inmediatly and spider-man catching a lethal disease due to the bite.

But i cannot stand the second image.

Equating realism to pessimism only comes from 2 minds: pessimistic people and pessimistic assholes.

I can feel bad for the first because hey , they have It rough and that has twisted their perception of life.

On the other hand , people like the ones making "memes" like that are just lonely losers that want to convince everyone that only bad things are realistic.

Fuck the sole thing of assuming my dress up darling is unrealistic already pisses me off , because sure , It doesnt happen to EVERYONE, but its not like It never happens either. Yet that seems enough for them to consider It unrealistic.

I hold absolutely no respect for this mindset, and i doubt the people who have It truly respect it either beyond using It to cope.

This case is even worse because its severe LARP.

Thing I hate the "American's don't have any food and no culture" argument

Post image
2.4k Upvotes

Even Tom Holland has started saying this shit and it's genuinely kinda annoying. Yes American food takes foods and ideas from other countries but in doing so they diverged and became something new. Like are you seriously going to tell me that Tex-Mex is the same cuisine as Mexican just with more fat?

Not to mention that literally every culture takes foods from other cultures and make them their own. For example, the earliest predecessors to Croissants actually came from Vienna Austria, despite being primarily associated with France.

Thing I hate Moistcritical's content

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

I really dont understand why he's so popular. You would think he would do way more in his videos considering his fame, but his content is just so basic and repetitive. His videos are always titled something like "this situation is crazy" or some other vague bullshit. I dont understand how 18 mil. people are subscribed to him. There are so many content creators that do way more with way less subscribers. He gets praised like crazy for doing the bare minimum. His opinions are so weak, hes too scared to say anything other than "bad thing is bad". I hate when he talks negatively about a bad content creator and people act like hes the only reason that content creator got cancelled, they act like he defetead the Antichrist. Moist critical, more like fence sitical.

Thing i absolutely despise the concept of larping as a dead person

Post image
10.9k Upvotes

there is a difference between putting on some costume and doing a MJ impression, and releasing new music using his image, and this quote 100% applies to this

look, his dad doesn't know how to feel about this, this should be a very VERY clear sign not to move foward with this

Techno's friend Skeppy made a video with this guy and they portrayed it as a fun wholesome emotional video, its not, playing a game with someone whos pretending to be your dead friend should be a setup for a horror movie or a creepypasta, not real life, and imagine what the dad is feeling, seeing a near exact copy of his son just making content on youtube, he said he didn't know how to feel about it, but from the tone of the response its pretty obvious hes uncomfortable but doesn't wanna say it directly

its like taking pictures of a dead loved one and feeding it into AI to "talk" to them, its just as deranged and weird

and anybody saying "oh technoblade would've just laughed it off" is being extremily parasocial, you don't fucking know him, you don't know what his reaction would've been based on his youtube persona, and even if he did, HES NOT HERE ANYMORE, ITS NOT ABOUT HOW HE'D REACT, HES GONE, ITS ABOUT HOW HIS FAMILY AND LOVED ONES WOULD REACT

i get technoblade said he was ok with people making jokes in his cancer video, but i'm pretty sure he didn't mean impersonating his whole image for clout, its weird as hell and it should stop

people may think different things and i have no hard feelings or hatred for the guy doing this regardless of how weird it is in my opinion, but i still think this should stop

Thing I hate this new statue (from an artistic perspective)

Thumbnail
gallery
4.7k Upvotes

Firstly, my reasons for hating this statue are not political. This sub isn’t for hating on real people, and my disdain for it isn’t due to the person it’s based on.

For one, the proportions here are extremely messed up. His torso is way too short, and his legs are way too long. It just makes him look freaky.

Secondly, the way the statue is colored looks abysmal. Keeping the bronzed metal skin tone while painting his eyes and clothes makes it look like he’s just a dude covered in metallic spray paint, which isn’t appealing in the slightest.

These little decisions just make the entire statue look really strange, like a Still Life from the Backrooms in a sense. The fact that this went through the entire production process without anyone realizing how bad it looks is baffling to me.

Oh yeah, also no one is buying it for the artist’s price of $100,000. That’s a steep price for a statue that looks like this.

(ALSO MODS THIS IS NOT POLITICAL, I’M JUST SAYING THAT DON’T LIKE THE STATUE)

Thing I hate lolcow culture so fucking much

Post image
5.5k Upvotes

You’ve probably heard of the term “lolcow” — usually someone with serious issues, often lonely, sometimes delusional, sometimes genuinely toxic — and then you’ve got these communities of people who make it their mission to mock them endlessly. Threads that go on for years, people archiving every livestream, screenshots, compilations, entire YouTube channels dedicated to pointing and laughing at someone’s mental decline.

Sure, most of the people that become lolcows are, objectively speaking, terrible people. They really, REALLY do act horribly — scamming, lying, hurting others, refusing to take accountability, being racist/sexist/homophobic, etc. They’re NOT innocent victims of the internet; they make choices too. But I think what we forget is that two things can be true at once: someone can be a bad person and still not deserve to be harassed, stalked, dogpiled upon, or even driven to mental collapse for entertainment. When Germany already had its own Chris Chan in the shape of Drachenlord, I don't even want to know how many more cases like these that we have simply never heard of due to language barriers.

And I can't help but wonder how many of these lolcows would be healthy, if not functional, adults, too, if they had empathy and help instead of mockery sent their way. Like, that entire thing with Chris Chan drives me insane sometimes. I get they did some awful things, but it all started because of a dumb, self-drawn Sonic the Hedgehog comic. Like, what the hell, man?

It feels like the internet has lost all sense of proportion. Everyone act like the moment someone becomes “cringe” or problematic, they stop being human. They’re just a living cartoon character now — a source of memes, drama, and clips. But they’re not. They’re still real people, with real issues, often spiraling while thousands of strangers egg them on. And if you're acting kinda cringe on the internet like me, regardless of whether you're annoying, mean, being completely harmless, not doing anything problematic in the slightest, or simply being neurodivergent like me, people WILL be desperate to mold you into another Chris Chan because they've sucked Chris Chan drier than a juice box and ran out of material to make fun of them at this point.

Just look at what happened to JaidenAnimations and Gooseworx, for example. People have been desperately digging up dirt on these two YouTubers who barely did anything problematic or controversial (as far as my knowledge of them goes). They will seek out every single little thing Jaiden and Goose did in the past and then make slanderous accusations against them for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than for the sake of their smear campaign.

When I attempted to point out to other people that my asexuality needs to be treated as a valid sexual orientation while also trying to raise awareness about corrective rape on asexual, bisexual, and transmasc individuals, they told me to STFU and downvote my comments. Being an ace person myself, I'm autistic and have been diagnosed with both ADHD and GAD as well, which often manifests in my hyper-obsessive fixation on very specific interests, generally taking completely minor and unserious things way too seriously, erratic behavior, misplaced hyper-aggression, social anxiety, depression, poor impulse control, and worst of all, genuine self-loathing. I've always tried my hardest to manage these symptoms but it has become increasingly difficult, sometimes even impossible for me, which made me an extremely easy target for all the rage-baiting, trolling, manipulation, and other inflammatory comments on Reddit, all of which were against my will. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I may eventually become a prime lolcow material in the future.

Anyway, I’m thoroughly disgusted at how normalized it is to for the internet to treat neurodivergent/disabled people as a literal freak show to gawk at just for being cringe. And it’s so widely accepted now that no one even bats an eye when it happens. I just don’t think anyone, myself included, should have to be ostracized for things they have zero control over and being a victim of chronic cyberbullying is very disheartening. I am sure some people here will be able to relate to this as well.

Thing I HATE how homemade firearms are glazed.

Thumbnail
gallery
3.6k Upvotes

I hate them so much😭 and how they are glazed by a good chunk of people (especially firearms content creators) as peak human invention when they practically suck.

They're not just sloppy, but are also extremely dangerous with high risk of literally exploding and toasting the shooter, they are made as fast/cheap versions of certain firearms with unsupported materials from some old man's basement, I hate them and how they are glorified.

Edit: fun fact for yall, I was interested in stuff like that, I was trying to make a handmade single-shot gun from a candle gun (yes don't ask me what I was thinking back in highschool), days later after gathering plenty of mighty components and ingredients (I really thought I could make smth), my dad broke in my room and almost slimed the fuck out of me.

Turns out my little brother snitched on me.

Thing You can call me whatever you want, but I hate the exaggerated, unnecessary breast physics on female characters.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

3.4k Upvotes

Honestly, it’s unnecessary. I do like realism and physics in animations.

The only problem is that this is applied to female breasts, obviously,.for the sake of fan service.

The worst part is that all this physics is completely exaggerated and unnecessary.

Sure, women's breasts bounce, but they aren't water balloons.

And let's be honest: this animation is pure fan service and nothing else.

I like fan service, but I find content that amounts to nothing more than that ridiculous.

Thing The sexualization of goths/goth culture

Thumbnail
gallery
3.6k Upvotes

I might not be the only one who discussed this, but this has always rubbed me the wrong way. Like weren't goths/alt in general literally supposed to use that style to break style norms? Not to mention the whole "goth mommy" thing is genuinely so weird in general. Even worse if the goth person is literally a minor. Also no, "goth" is not just black lipstick or eyeliner. It's music, politics and their own way of going through life in general. Yes I think goths are very pretty but you wouldn't see me getting on their knees and wanting to lick their toes just because they're wearing a black dress and black lipstick

EDIT: Yeah, the government thing is punk thanks for reminding me I get mixed up with the two styles sometimes

Thing The amount of straw-manning in the comments section and on Twitter is insane

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

Youtuber: Lily Animation

Not only people haven't watched the video, but are also incredibly racist, sexist and bigoted as fuck.

This video gained over 10 million views on Twitter and people are harassing her and are like: "You're a Norwegian and you don't like "some thing" in Norway? How dare you share an opinion and say that Norway isn't a perfect utopia!"

The amount of harassment she had received has led to her nuking her own channel, and she had to apologize, for what?

For making a rather satirical video where she talks about some of the most common negative things about her own country?

And I honestly cannot take the haters seriously in any kind of way, because her being part Malaysian and a woman is what some of these haters are hating her for by the way.

The haters are completely dismissing the original intent of the video and didn't even bother to watch the intro at least where she clearly states that she's happy to be born in Norway and doesn't despise her country or anything like that.

No country is perfect and what's even more stupid is that a lot of these haters aren't even Norwegian themselves for sure; pathetic.

P.S. : I don't know why some people in the comments think she deserved it when she really didn't do anything too bad. You people act like she just committed a crime or some shit.

Get a grip of yourselves already and stop justifying harassment for fuck's sake.
