Administer the Buster Machine 3 to the enemy

Made an AMV on impulse once my big brother told me that Beyond the River of Time, the song for the final episode, was based directly on this ABBA song. Wanted to put my skills to the test and gift this to you all.

The ending of episode 5 always gets me. Kazumi spends the whole mission knowing there's almost no chance of seeing Coach again to tell him how she feels. Then when she gets back to earth, sees he is alive, and gets to tell him that she loves him...it breaks me every time.

That and the ending. God, after 12,000 years and thinking they failed to save humanity, then we see "Welcome Back" and that music kicks in...

God this series is so incredible.

Also been reading the ‘Gunbuster: Next Generation’ Novel, and it mentioned “Maxwell-class heavy cruisers”. I wonder if they’re the same as the Tardyon-type vessels (the wide ships in images 6-8 that were also sprinkled around in ‘Next Generation‘ mangas).

The only thing I know about it was it’s name, and that it was used a concept art for the Luxion.

While Diebuster gets more questionable

despite Gunbuster having tons of gratuitous fan-service, it just comes off as honest/cool rather than creepy.

It feels like many modern anime is feels Extremely Creepy/Gross despite having a fraction of the nudity.

Made by University of Michigan's Animania club for its members back in the 90s. Not very easy to find old Gunbuster apparel so these mean a lot to me.

Not for sale.

Hi all, I was planning to do a rewatch of Gunbuster and realized how shaky, wobbly, unstable and 'moving' around the image was. This is something that didn't seem to happen in SMPlayer in the past.

As I do not have my own video source since the disc is with my parents at their house in another country, I had downloaded a blu-ray release. I watched it many months ago, and it was perfect, exactly the quality I remember.

Now nothing changed, neither my pc, nor my screen, nor SMPlayer which I used also at the time. Yet the image is like wobbly, moving, shaking, unstable. I read from a review online that this is due to cel shading and the way it was done in the past before proper digitalization was brought forward, the reviewer also lamented the same.

But I feel like going crazy, because when I watched before it was not this noticeable how shaky this way. Other videos are not shaky like this or at all, for example Chainsaw Man plays perfectly.

Am I going crazy in remember Gunbuter stable from the Blu-ray release, or was there some setting I had in the past which changed and might've affected this? I tried even fixing it with options, changing interface, source of rendering, all sort of fixes I could find online, and nothing worked at all. I'm a bit disappointed and feeling sad after having proposed a watchalong wanting to stream it to friends online, I fear they might feel nauseous as I did just now (which never happened before).

Been interested to watch it since my family loves mecha anime, however I can't find any official age rating for the show, it only shows as Not Rated. It has a very shoujo art style so it makes me think it'll be like Sailor Moon and Magic Knight Rayearth, however knowing it's by Anno and Gainax and how Evangelion gets very dark and mature and I only watched Evangelion with my adult sibling not as a family, would I regret watching this with my whole family?

POP ART STYLE WALL DECOR FAN ART

Absolutely LOVE Mikimoto Haruhiko's timeless character designs used in the classic TOP O NEREA aka GunBuster OVAs! This thread is to showcase awesome images of production and promotional art used in the creation of our beloved GunBuster OVAs. Enjoy!!

To kick start off we are sharing a extremely rare hanken mono of GunBuster and Noriko!! This powerful duo is a large hand painted work of art. Hanken monos are very rare and only used in the creation of advertisements. This image was used on VHS release of the OVAs.

Note, absolutely not a fan whatsoever of the needless follow up which had atrocious character designs (do not posting anything) and was basically meaningless. YMMV but we loathe it.

Drew this Noriko after a friend had me watch Gunbuster a while back. 100% would recommend.
