Solid Body I swear I’m not a doctor or a lawyer!
Just lots of trading, getting creative with funds, and scouring FB Marketplace and GC used for killer deals. Thanks for having me on the subreddit!

Finally finished assembling this beast - hand-painted with Posca markers and sealed in clear coats.

Turned 40 this month and have had some of these since I was 12/13. This is 28 years of buying, selling and trading. I’m happy to have something in my life that I still have a childlike fascination for!

CGiant unknown trash cheap brand from 15 years ago, but I love it. (It was looking like a normal black strat in the beginning)

Almost all of these were purchased second hand locally. That’s my preferred method of collecting

Before I found out this guitar existed, if you'd asked me "Slunk, what's your perfect guitar on paper?" It would literally be this, to a T. So I made it mine. Suhr Andy Wood Modern T in Whiskey Barrel. I'm no stranger to high end guitars with several Music Man in my collection, but this is already straight to the top. This is THE guitar.

For almost a decade now I have owned this guitar and loved it. Plays amazing, sounds ridiculous.
Had sold it during 2020 and bought it back in 22’ and it returned to me needing some work on the frets and was missing an inlay.
Took it to the local shop (Chicago Fret Works) and said hey while it’s here, I’ve always wondered what was under the paint and what would it cost for a refinish. There was one spot on the back cavity that was missed that showed the mahogany body, and in the control cavity you could see the maple cap. Not sure if it had been painted for a reason like a defect, we took a chance and boy am I glad I did.
I gave them a couple inspiration pics and let em go nuts - and they did.
Will pay some sound samples at some point.
Thanks for looking!

1977/8 Aria MK-1300, of course a copy of a vintage B. C. Rich Mockingbird.
Original 70s DiMarzio Dual Sound humbuckers, with a whole host of sounds available with the coil split and phase switches. So it does fantastic clean tones, and of course it does fantastic high-gain sounds. It has a super-low action and plays amazingly.
I'll bring something else as a backup (not decided what yet) but I think this'll be the guitar I stay on all night.

This is an Ashburn model from our Private Reserve collection, featuring a flame maple cap on an ash body, ebony fretboard with our Private Reserve inlay, ebony, dual Fishman Fluence humbuckers, and a whole lot more. We're stoked on this one. Hope you like it!

Put together a Tom Delonge inspired Squier Stratocaster in memory of my late Dad who was a huge sci-fi nerd, absolutely loved anything and everything to do with aliens.👽💚

I couldn’t believe my eyeballs when I searched H-150 on GC and sorted by price, lowest to highest.
I’ve been drooling over the Dirty Lemon Bursts for a while now and had almost pulled the trigger on a Standard locally.
Listed at $1499, I’m fairly certain someone didn’t realize this is a Custom Shop Core model. It’s got some play wear but has seemingly been sitting for quite a while as the strings are definitely old and the truss rod and bridge height needed some major adjustments to bring the action down.
It needed a little TLC but sounds fantastic already…and looks like a dream!

A while back, I sold everything I had before moving across the country. I’m finally building my collection back up. I’m looking for the guitars I remember seeing in musicians friend catalogs throughout my youth. I know there’s not an American-made instrument in sight, but I feel that my collection is worthy of sharing.

The EVL-K6 – one of the flagships of the EVL series, and the very first to launch in 2006.
Built in Korea, later also in Indonesia, but always the face of the series – and, to me, of Cort itself.
Just look at those beautiful inlays, that headstock engraving… even the knobs. The devil’s in the details.

I found this on Facebook Marketplace for dirt cheap. It was someone's project guitar that he lost passion for. At first I thought it must be a Warwick bass converted to guitar, but it's neck through so it's the neck it's born with. The pickups are a Seymour Duncan SH4 JB in bridge, an unidentified SD single coil in mid and a 59 in neck. There used to be four pots, but the previous owner ditched two of them and moved the volume and tone to the lower position. I was annoyed with the empty holes until I put two bolts in there and it's sort of cool, I think. It's gotten locking tuners and a nice setup so now it's my doom stick. I have to say, I'm really surprised at how comfortable it is. Neck is smooth and the body is really easy to handle. I've never seen one like this before, so curiosity got the better of me, and I'm glad it did.

Ahhh the 80s, when you could get a top of the line MIJ guitar from the JC Penny catalog. Hands down one of the best made guitars I've owned. The fit and finish is incredible, and after 45+ years every single switch and effect still works perfectly. One situation where they really don't make them like this anymore.
