I feel sorry for the guy in the red fez. It's a bad day when you're not the coolest guy parkouring off the side of the train you're in.

Warning: Every other post bitches about reposts.

I find you much more annoying than a single repost I have ever seen.

  1. Not everyone lives on reddit all day and sees every post.

  2. Some things deserve to be reposted

  3. Downvote if you've seen and it makes you feel better, but let the upvotes speak for themselves (yes, I see the hypocrisy).

  4. Shut up hipster. We all get it. You've already seen it... Caring face --> :/

I'm not bitching, I don't mind a repost once in awhile at all depending on the humor and how clever it is placed. I just thought there was some humor in the subject and made a post about it... Ironically under the funny section... Imagine that!!!! If it was lashing out or complaining I would have done so, but instead I poked fun at a topic I found amusing and posted it. For anyone thinking this is a post about bitching and complaining then lighten up cause it's not. The point if the post is once you're on Reddit it's usually addicting and most people go " uhhhh one more link..." thus the "no exit". During that time it is inevitable that you will see a repost and whether you mind that or not your choice. I'm neither complaining or rejoicing for reposts just pointing out an obvious fact. Relax and take the post for what it is, a joke!

Reposts don't bother me as much as copycats. Any OC that makes the front page is followed by dozens of permutations.

The dead horse is beaten into a pulp, then further into liquid. Then someone pours the liquefied horse into a cup, and submits a picture of a pretty Asian girl holding it.

And finally it makes it to the FP as a picture of a cat lapping up a bowlful of the horse.

And then someone makes a cake with it.

People who complain about reposting bothers me way more than reposts. Do these people not know there are new redditors joining everyday? Ya know, people who haven't already seen half the shit on the internet

Post up new content that hasn't been discussed on Reddit? INSTANT FUCKING DOWNVOTES (Literally).

Post up something that has been on the front page 10 times before? 5,000 upvotes with 9,000 comments.

Summer Reddit = 14 year old kids discovering EVERYTHING for the first time. It's because mom's at work.

older memes are different then reposts- I think what most of us are mad about is something being reposted days, hours, or even minutes after the first post.

It depends on what subreddits you subscribe to. If you only view the defaults, they're mostly reposts (excepting reddit blog/announcements and worldnews). If you view a lot of the smaller, but still active subreddits, you get a lot more original content. Moreso if they only allow self-posts.

For example: r/atheism is going after Islam for about the next week. This post is one of the most frequently reposted in regards to the faults of Islamic scripture.

r/talesfromtechsupport (an exclusively self-post subreddit), on the other hand, is always new content (albeit, at a slower rate than larger subreddits) because, even though situations may be similar, everyone is stupid in their own special, luser way.

r/mylittlepony, although not immune to reposts, frequently sees new, original artwork by the many artists in the community. And browsing /new showcases many more styles of art that don't often make the front page of the subreddit (such as fan music or fan fiction).

So, your post isn't entirely accurate. Not everything you see is a repost. Also, browsing the depths of r/all leads to posts from smaller, but still sizable, subreddits that usually contain original content. And another thing, you're going to hit the "There doesn't seem to be anything here" page before you reach 100 pages in depth.

TL;DR: OP is wrong and his post disproves himself
