Some shrooms in the woodland today.

I'm curious to know the purpose of the chemical psilocybin and it's definitely not a defence against insects (I have seen bugs, worms and ants in panaeolus cyanescens) . The mycelium must knows something humanity don't.

So I've inoculated a jar with mckennaii culture using an agar plate(via agar slushy method) on the 12th of october, this is the jar in question at 26th of october. Is it healthy mycelium or some kind of contam?

was out at Devils lake Wi yesterday and saw these two lots of pics of one pair and only a few of our fallen solder in yellow. can I have help identifying them?

I found this in my yard under a large oak tree. I have never seen this before and after searching I believe it is a Brain Puffball. I had planned to get some macro photos but it started to degrade before I had time.
