đ” Freegal Tip: Search âDigital 45â for a TON of great oldies singles!
If youâre into classic hits, early rock ânâ roll, Motown, dooâwop, or vintage pop, try searching âdigital 45â on Freegal. I stumbled onto a huge batch of oldâschool singles released in digital form â lots of original mono mixes, Bâsides, and clean remasters you donât always see bundled elsewhere.
These are perfect for building out an oldies playlist or grabbing individual tracks without downloading full compilations.

Hello fellow music enthusiasts!
I've compiled a list of all the Freegal downloads I've completed to date and that, with a few exceptions, do not contain any of the dreaded "Download Restricted: Album Only" tracks.

#shoutout to the following users for their topical contributions to this sub this month u/RogerJamesSmith, u/lynettifoo - please keep the recommendations coming!
I'm particularly interested in any rock compilation albums that are complete, at least according to Freegal from the 70s-current if anyone has any links to share!

The Essential Percy Faith
The Archies | Sugar, Sugar - The Complete Albums Collection
Sugar, Sugar - The Complete Albums Collection
The Archies are one of the wildest popâculture crossovers ever: a fictional garage band from Archie Comics that somehow became a realâworld chartâtopping act. They first showed up in Life with Archie #60 back in 1967, with Archie, Jughead, Reggie, Betty, and Veronica jamming together in Riverdale.
Things blew up when The Archie Show hit TV in 1968. Producer Don Kirshnerâwho also helped launch The Monkeesâbrought in professional studio musicians to record the bandâs songs. Ron Dante handled lead vocals, with Toni Wine, Donna Marie, and Merle Miller contributing on the female side. Songwriters Jeff Barry and Andy Kim wrote their biggest hit, âSugar, Sugar,â which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969 and sold over six million copies. Fun fact: itâs still the only time a fictional band topped Billboardâs yearâend chart.
Between 1968 and 1971, The Archies released multiple albums and dropped other bubblegumâpop favorites like âBangâShangâAâLang,â âJingle Jangle,â and âWhoâs Your Baby?â Their mainstream run faded in the early â70s, but they never really disappearedâpopping up in comics, reboots, and nostalgia waves.

Charlotte Plank - ClubLiminal
Been trying to find D&B (Drum & Bass) electronic dance music in Freegal. I really like "Nightshift" off of this album which samples the song "Superstylin'" by Groove Armada, also on Freegal!
