Hello! My dad is a life long Gators fan that lives in New York and is visiting me in a few weeks. Iām going to get tickets for the Oklahoma game and take him to the Swamp for his first time. Any advice on where to go pregame to have some drinks and watch football before heading into the stadium? Heās 64 but likes to party lol also, is parking at the garage on the corner of Mowry and Gale Lemerand still free? Iāve been to the Swamp a few times but it was years ago.
Thanks in advance for your help!!

First off, I want to say that I think our ranking is probably about right. This is more just for discussion on how ranking should be done. And apologies in advance, I'm not using AI for any of this so it will be less organized than it could be!
I saw a Texas user making an unhinged rant yesterday against ND getting preferential treatment and how quality loses are worth more than quality wins that I generally agreed with. But then he was complaining that they were getting unfairly ranked because of their "non-quality" loss to UF. And that just didn't sit right with me.
Let's look at the data.
Florida:
Texas:
So how should we be ranking these two teams relative to each other?
So it sounds like Texas is getting more credit for beating #1 Ohio State than we are for BEATING TEXAS.
Again, I'm not saying we should be higher, just thought it was interesting and curious how y'all thought these teams should be ranked, and quality win vs loss debate. Luckily for us we win out and we're in, we lose and we aren't so it's completely in our power.

Im a foreigner that just recently started watching college football, this is my second season.
Is this hype justified? How was Napier (Which from what I've read was hyped as well) first season?

Genuinely, if it wasnāt already clear ESPN and College GameDay have an agenda against Florida, let this be the final confirmation. You have the first ranked Florida Georgia matchup in six years, one of the biggest rivalries in college football, with massive playoff and SEC implications, and you actively choose Minnesota at Indiana instead??? There is absolutely no universe where that is the better game or the bigger national storyline. At this point itās not even subtle.
I will NEVER forget them going to Florida @ Miami last year when we were 1ā2, on a two game losing streak, and everyone knew the Napier era was dead. They knew an elite Miami team was probably going to embarrass us, yet THAT was when they wanted the national spotlight on Florida. It felt like they were showing up to celebrate our downfall and rub it in with the added bonus that āU Was Backā as per usual). Now Florida is finally back, playing a ranked Georgia in a massive rivalry game, and suddenly theyād rather be at Minnesota Indiana. Give me a break.

You've slept on it. Pour some coffee and have a seat. Let's talk about the week's game(s).

We are the most penalized SEC team over a 20 year period.
The first chart just shows annual penalty rankings (so many years at 1).
But the second is pretty wild. Florida has accumulated 270 penalties above the FBS average, more than double second place.
Thatās only about one extra penalty per game, but sustained over 20 years, it really adds up.
Includes all current SEC teams, even before they joined.

Edit: I copied it direct from his post spelling issues and all. I even attributed it right there at the end.

I feel like it's Texas to keep them from falling further in the rankings but maybe it doesn't matter?
Although I think it's good for us the SC beat Tennessee.

Post your pics, memes, screenshots, etc here. Make your small talk about GameDay, the game, your tailgate (or living room) setup, food and drinks for the day, your gameday jorts, or anything else.
This is also your Game Thread for any other games around the country this weekend. Talk with your fellow Gators about what you're watching and who you're rooting for.

No Gators football tomorrow, which means we have an entire Saturday to imagine how things could go wrong. Why wait? Welcome to the Doomer Thread.
This is the place for your bleakest takes about the team, the coaches, playcalling, recruiting, and the general condition of the universe. The sky is falling, and frankly, its tackling technique is terrible.
You may quote facts or make them up. Weāre not picky. Alternate facts from our impending doom will be deleted. In this thread, that means optimism, silver linings, and suggestions that things might actually be okay aren't allowed. Take those to the Sunshine Pumper Thread.
Keep it funny, keep it civil, and remember: subreddit rules still apply. Doom responsibly.
