Does anyone else completely abuses glasses coatings by wiping them with random shirts?
i know you are technically supposed to use those tiny microfiber cloths and special lens cleaning spray every single time a smudge appears but lets be real.. when a smudge happens, my shirt, hoodie or whatever soft fabric is closest, that thing is getting wipedd. i used to try being more careful with my main pair before because i didnt want to scratch the lenses or mess up the anti reflective coating. butt recently i picked up cheap backup pairs from firmoo just to have around and ive been treating those things like they have nine lives lol. ive been shirt wiping them multiple times a day for weeks now and somehow the coating hasnt peeled off or turned into that weird rainbow blur yet. either these budget coatings are tougher than i thought or im just getting insanely luckyy.
does anybody else actually carry a proper lens cleaning kit around and use it every time, or are we all secretly just wiping our glasses on whatever we are wearing? also whats your worst glasses maintainence habit?
