Hello everyone. I'm searching for ebooks that are free to download. Do you have any suggestions on where I access them? I've heard about Oceanofpdf is one of them. Is that a safe site to access and download? I tried once and gmail is not letting me send them to the kindle email I sent it too. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, I highly appreciate it. Thank you! ❤️

On sale for $1.99 10-28 & 10-29 only!

If somebody has the pdf of the book "The ultimate guide to SAT reading" DM me the pdf.

Bless the soul that helps me.

Hi all,

English isn’t my first language, and while reading novels I kept getting stuck on words. I’d stop, search, find five different meanings, and still not know which one fit. By the time I got back to the book, the feeling was gone.

So I made a small app for myself called Hamu, named after Haruki Murakami, my favourite author.

You just tap a word and it tells you what it means in that sentence (under 5 secs ). You can also see pictures of things you can’t imagine, have the book read aloud, and switch to a dark page for night reading.

It works offline, there’s no sign-up, and your books stay on your phone.

I won’t earn a single rupee from this. There are no ads and nothing to buy. I just want other readers to enjoy books the way I can now.

It’s on Android and works best on phones with 6 GB of RAM or more.

Give it a try, and if there’s something you’d like it to do, tell me. Let’s make reading a little more comfortable together

The fridge stocks itself. The furniture rearranges itself. And there’s a door that opens into a world that has apparently been waiting for your family for twenty-seven years.
Oh, and there’s a fae king in the garden. 👑
Welcome to Another Fairytale, my upcoming contemporary cosy fantasy about grief, inheritance, unexpected magic, and finding a place to call home.
Featuring a very opinionated shapeshifting cat, a far-too-charming king, and a role our heroine definitely did not apply for. 🐈‍⬛
📚 Coming December 5!
Would you read a fantasy with this kind of cosy, whimsical magic? 💛

I'm looking for honest early readers who'll post a review on Goodreads, Amazon or social media on or shortly after release day (December 5).
Sign up here by October 31, form link in the comments!
Selected readers will be emailed by November 3.
Content notes are listed in the form. Thank you for sharing, and happy reading! 💛

Hi everyone! I'm looking for recommendations on websites, apps, or platforms where I can read full novels completely for free . What are your favorite places to find free books? Thank you!

I bought a study GED book from Kindle today. As a Macbook user is there really no way to turn it into a pdf anymore so I can write notes on the side of it or print it out so I can work on math problems on paper? I think it has DRM cause theres 0 option for downloading other than to keep it on the app.

Curious if anyone else feels this way. Out of fear for reading an AI book, I’ve unfortunately become pretty biased against Amazon published books, indie authors, and debut novels. Unless they’re recommended to me, I typically won’t pick them up. I don’t want to feel this way!!!!! I would love to support indie authors!!! I just have this irrational “fear” of accidentally reading something AI, or worse, enjoying it. Does anyone else feel this way? Has anyone found a good way to vet books to get around this?

can we address the issue that this sub is becoming a dump of vibecoded ai slops

Hi Reddit,

OwnWords here again.

As October draws to a close, we’ve introduced an exciting new feature:

> Turn your (unfinished) books into short videos or a series of video courses.

If you’re tired of reading a book, perhaps you can give it a second chance by watching it instead.

You can also watch this post here: https://readownwords.com/share/explainers/d-AKKsPfFBOVDuWj_2LxA8MPFWtODKvXP22gN93Q-T4

We’re also happy to announce that we’ve improved our on-device neural voices, with 131 voices across 19 languages. Download your favourites once, then listen free and without limits.

Other updates:

• Find your next read in our free library. Browse 79,000+ free ebooks, alongside other freely available books. Our library includes books in 70 languages, including English, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese. Find a book and click “Read Now” to import it straight into the OwnWords reader in one click.
• Our most natural cloud voices are now available, with 54 voices across 8 languages, streamed to any device. The free plan includes 20 minutes of voice streaming daily. Paid plans allow up to 4 hours daily, with 30 hours included each month and shared credits used after that. An internet connection is required for cloud voices.

And there’s more to explore: Study Dojo lets you explain what you’ve read in your own words, receive video feedback, and revisit the material with scheduled reviews.

These features and more are available to try in beta. Give them a go and tell us what you think at https://readownwords.com/

Hey everyone! 👋😊

I'm currently pursuing my studies, and I'm looking for ways to earn some money to help pay my college fees. 🎓💰 Recently, I came across the idea of creating and selling e-books online, and I'm really interested in learning more about it.

To be honest, I'm a complete beginner and don't know much about e-book creation or selling yet. 🥹 I'm curious to learn how this works, develop new skills, and hopefully turn it into a small source of income while continuing my studies.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone here who has experience with creating, publishing, or selling e-books online could guide me. 🙏❤️

I'd love to learn things like:

📖 1. Creating an e-book: How do I start writing one? Do I need special skills, or can a beginner learn?

🎨 2. Designing an e-book: Which free tools or websites can I use to write, format, and design an attractive e-book?

💡 3. Choosing a topic: How do I find a good topic that people are actually interested in reading and buying?

🌐 4. Selling online: Which platforms are beginner-friendly for selling e-books, especially from India?

💸 5. Earning potential: Is it realistic to earn a little money from e-books as a beginner? How long might it take to make the first sale?

📢 6. Marketing: How can I promote my e-book and find readers without spending money on advertisements?

⚠️ 7. Common mistakes: What should I avoid when starting out? Are there any scams or misleading courses I should be careful about?

I'm not expecting to make money overnight. I understand that learning, creating something valuable, and finding customers will take time and effort. I genuinely want to learn and put in the work. 💪✨

My main motivation is to support myself financially and contribute towards my college fees. I'm open to learning from scratch, and even small tips, useful resources, free tutorials, or personal experiences would mean a lot to me. ❤️

If you've been doing this for a while, could you please share how you started and what advice you'd give to someone like me who is just beginning? Even a little guidance could help me take my first step in the right direction. 🥹🙏

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post. Any genuine advice or guidance is greatly appreciated! ❤️📚✨

Hey! I'm a solo dev, and I built Scribe because most reading apps felt cluttered or locked to one store. It's free, there are no ads, and your books stay on your device.

What it does

• Reads EPUB, PDF and manga files you already own
• Discover page: search any book or manga, with free classics built in
• Make the page yours: Paper, White, Dusk and Night themes, 4 fonts, text size, line spacing, page or scroll mode, custom backgrounds
• Highlights, bookmarks, dictionary look-up and translate
• Reading goals, streaks, milestones, badges and focus sprints
• Seasonal app themes and accent colours
• Sign in with Google to sync your reading progress, goals and EPUB books across devices
• Install it like an app from your browser on phone or PC, and it works offline

Honest cons

• Manga and PDF files don't sync between devices. Only EPUB books sync, so manga and PDFs stay on the device you added them on.
• There's no App Store or Play Store app yet. It's a web app you install from your browser.
• Cloud file storage for patrons is still being built.
• It doesn't sell books. You bring your own files or read the free classics.
• It's a one-person project, so expect the odd bug. Reports help a lot!

Links

• App: https://scribereader.pages.dev
• Discord (feature requests, bug reports, early features): https://discord.gg/WXQjsvDgu3
• Patreon: https://patreon.com/scribereader

What Patreon does: it keeps Scribe free and ad-free. Supporters get extra accent colours and perks, and once cloud storage is finished, Collector ($6) gets 20 GB and Librarian ($12) gets 100 GB of cloud space for your files.

I'd love feedback, good or bad!

I wanted to share a quick note of gratitude for those who may have downloaded the E-Book during my recent free promo. A few weeks ago, memoir, Three Ribbons, One Life: My Forty-Year Journey Through Cancer, Fear, and Hope, went through a brief free promotion window.

Thanks to the incredible online community, the book was picked up by dozens of readers and briefly jumped into #64 within the top 100 on the Amazon charts.

If you happen to be one of the people who downloaded a copy during that window, or if you have encountered it since then, could you please take 60 seconds to leave an honest rating or review on Amazon? Even a quick, star rating on your Kindle device makes a massive difference in keeping the book's momentum alive so it can reach the people who need this roadmap of hope the most.

Thank you so much to everyone who turned pages and shared the journey.

Have you ever fallen behind on your schedule and found it difficult to get back on track? That's something I explore in The Hybrid Schedule. The ebook is free for a limited time, so here's the link for anyone who'd like to check it out.

i'm tired of having like five different apps open. i read epubs on my phone, pdfs on my laptop, and occasionally pick up manga files. does anyone have a recommendation for something that handles all of this without being a total pain to set up? bonus points if it doesn't look like it was designed in 2009.

Hello, developer of JustRead here. 5.6 is live, so I am informing you about main new feature:

• You can now link an EPUB with its audiobook, from your own files or from Audiobookshelf. (iPhone listens through the audiobook once with Apple's on-device speech recognition and finds each sentence in the book for syncing: 3h 39m book took about 3 minutes).
• Then the page follows the text (or vice versa).
• The EPUB can be a different edition than the one the narrator read, because it matches the words.
• Needs iOS 26 and a book in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean or Chinese.

5.6 also adds Folders in the Library, and headings can have a font of their own and few more nice to have features and also bug fixes.
