I understand its pretty difficult if not downright impossible to buy property in Cuba, but I'm curious if anyone has found a way? I'd like to buy a house or an apartment in Havana. I'm also curious what the prices are like, is there a cuban real estate website I could check out?

In 2025, the US reported 809.6 million in exports to Cuba. That’s up from 176.7 million in 2020 (an over 400% increase), 185.7 million in 2015, and 363.1 million in 2010. Source: https://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c2390.html

I was just reading an article about Cuba and found this statistic particularly interesting and important. Many estimates of the population of Cuba seem to estimate around 10.8 - 11 million people, which have been outdated for years primarily due to the 2021–2023 Cuban migration crisis (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021%E2%80%932023_Cuban_migration_crisis ). However, I find it important to note that many Cubans are still leaving daily to anywhere. This includes across the Caribbean and Latin America, to Spain, Russia, etc. With the vast majority of people leaving being young people, I seriously wonder how both the Cuban economy as well as society itself can go on its current path.
Further, one would consider the birth rate and not merely focus on emigration. Welp, the Cuban birthrate has been falling steadily since 1988 and an increasing lack new births have made it so there are few and fewer young people in society in the first place. (source: Cuba Birth Rate (1950-2026) )

Hello. I am Russian and recently read an article by a Russian tourist who visited Cuba. He writes that money (pesos and dollars) no longer matters. Instead of money, goods and services are used. A bag of rice can be exchanged for shoe repairs, a photo shoot with a vintage car for a pack of cigarettes, entry to a nightclub for a bottle of whiskey, and so on. Is this really the case?
