Strike a Pose 📸 Halloween Vet Visit
Our girl Hoagie tore off one of her nails while wrestling on the couch a little too enthusiastically so we put on her costume for the trip the vet. She was a hit at the clinic

Woody ready for winter
Its now 5 weeks since Woody had his BOAS surgery and he now seems almost fully back to being the bouncy boy we had before.
Here showing off those lovely remodelled nostrils with his Frisbee, plus modelling his winter jumper demonstrating his hand shake. What a good boy!
The worst thing about the recovery process was trying to keep him calm, while all he wanted to do was play.

Lilibet currently resides at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and is quite unhappy about that. She’d love to be your beast friend!

Advice Needed Novel protein recommendations?
Hello! 🙋♂️ My almost four year old Bulldog has struggled with allergies since I adopted her and I cannot put my finger on what exactly it is. She definitely doesn’t do well with chicken, beef, duck and potentially turkey so am trying another elimination diet but am looking for any recommendations for novel protein foods that you may have tried and tested!
I tried her with raw food but the storage got to be an issue for me. She definitely prefers wet food to kibble so thinking more tinned. I’m in the UK but happy to purchase food online. I know theres a site called “Happy Dog” that does very niche proteins - had a trial tin of kangaroo and she loved that but it does start to get quite pricey.
open to any suggestions, thanks!

What dog food brand do you guys like for your pups?
To be honest I have to maybe get something cheaper than science diet…ONLY IF there is something just as “recommended” or even if you dog advocates swear by anything I’m open ears. I’ve heard that it’s really just you know branch but then again when I’m at the vet, they say it’s the best thing out there for them. I don’t know.

A doubull encounter
I have always liked dogs but for a number of reasons we will probably never actually own one, and I don’t really know anyone who has one either.
Today the kids were playing outside and all of a sudden they ran in screaming “there’s a loose dog!” We’ve had pitties, a rottie, and a number of others roaming free around the block (not what I would consider a common occurrence by any means), but this time when I went to see, it was a short pudgy guy walking around across the street kicking up some dirt and crossing to see a fire hydrant. I went across to see if it belongs to a nearby family, but no one was home. When I went to their neighbor, she came to the door and as we were speaking, her pittie, David, came charging out between us. He didn’t even give me a glance; just wanted to survey his turf and was swiftly called back in without incident. Not even a bark or a sniff.
Anyway, the loose boi came back and we found a number and a name on his collar (and that he had epilepsy 🥺). I let the experienced dog owner approach him and try to keep him nearby so we could call, and by then the owners brother in law came back.
So basically I turned a dog day into a two dog day (didn’t end up being a three dog night though). Still trying to understand the whole pitbull controversy, and the quiet demeanor of the smaller bullie was a pleasure to experience for those few mins

Advice Needed Super chewer
I have huskies that chew like crazy, but I dog sit for two bulldogs and one is a crazy super chewer. They had nylabones type toys but they were thrown out since they started breaking, and since then anytime we go inside he goes crazy insane just wanting to chew but goes after me nipping and jumping, which isn't fun because he's so strong, though he means no harm. They have other toys but he isn't super interested in chewing them, I've tried redirection. Sometimes they will also chew stuff up as well. I really love these sweet babies, their pet parents work long shifts and long work weeks so I always try to do whatever I can to make them and the pups less stressed.
I need recommendations for a good safe long lasting chew/toy, they had the nylabones at least a month (I started sitting for them around the beginning of September/end of August and we trashed the bones a week or two ago). He is FULL of energy for a bulldog. Picture of the sweet culprit for tax. He is the most perfect boy when he comes to my place, and for his baths and nails. I've been around animals my entire life, and bull dogs. I have huskies so I'm no stranger to chewers or high energy, but I've never met a bulldog with SO much energy 😭
