I have a bit of a weird thing coming up. Concert, 17 Cameras mostly Arri, but also 4 FX3 Wireless.
We need to shade the FX3 but we have no Budget for CyanView. So.
I've read that Skaarhoj RCPs should be able to control the cameras directly over Network. We do have some, I am not worried about that part so much, I am worried about the Wireless Part.

So I had this exact setup before, without Remote Control but the Sony App on a Macbook and the FX3 always disconnected from the network. I had one wireless with the Anybus System, which works pretty good with the Arris we use. But it didn't work consistent at all with the sony. I would certain that I doesn't work at all, but on one day it worked for like 1hour and then never again without changing anything. And the other cam was hard wired and still cut out sometimes.

My question would be if some of you guys maybe either know if the skaarhoj thing does indeed work. And how do you get the fx3 to work more consistent.

The idea is one bucket that works both ways. You connect any S3-compatible storage once, clips come in from it, and the recording goes back out to it. No playout server, and no copying files off a recorder after the show.

The video shows three steps:

1. Connect the bucket with an endpoint, keys and a role (clips, recordings or both), then test the connection.
2. Play a clip. Browse the bucket and add the clip as a mixer input. Cue it, press play on preview, then take it to air already running. Taking the clip to air doesn’t start it, so you choose when it rolls.
3. Record the show. Add a recording output. Each production gets its own folder in the bucket, and the finished recording can be reused as a clip.

I’m looking for modular connections such as BNC, XLR, Ethercon, ST Fiber, and SMPTE Camera connectors inside a 8” deep 12x20 NEMA type box with maybe 2 3” conduit feeds. They have lockable doors on them so connectors need to be recessed.
These are existing boxes so they can be changed to an off the shelf JBT or similar
I’ve used SigT in the past.
Any other options out there?

I work at Eyevinn, where we build Open Live, an open source live production suite that runs in a browser tab: vision mixer, audio mixer, multiviewer and PiP.

We kept getting the same question from people trying it for the first time: where do I start? So I made a short tutorial that goes from nothing to a running show:

• adding sources (SRT feeds, or the built-in test patterns if you have no cameras)
• adding an output
• creating and activating a production
• a tour of the studio and the multiviewer

My pedestal control for camera 1 is broken. As in it just spins freely in either direction and changes nothing. Camera 1 is heavily blown out/oversaturated. How would you recommend fixing/mitigating this problem during a production, until I can fix the panel in the shop?

edit: 1st picture is camera 1. 2nd picture is camera 2 for comparison.

edit 2: Cameras are Sony HCX-FB80 running through fiber and panels are RCP 3100.

Have been testing LiveEdit for a couple of days but find that free version is only for learning, any real feature (such as timecode chasing) requires pay subscription. I think the subscription is just too much for my purpose because all I wanted is to record the rehearsal, then plan out camera angles and cue for the actual production. I don't need all the fancy ipad linked cue calling. In fact, the director can use the talkback intercoms to direct camera operators, he just need some tool to help him planning it and then the app can sync with the time code to visually showing the cue point on the timeline. The production is rather small with 4 to 8 cameras and is practically non-profit oriented. Any suggestion?

Associate BIT Field Engineer description

Hi everyone,
We have a Miranda Technologies Imagestore 750 R2. When I opened the chassis for inspection, I noticed an empty space near the power supply unit (PSU).
I would like to know whether this empty space is part of the normal chassis design or whether an optional or essential circuit board may have been removed.
Could anyone familiar with the Imagestore 750 R2 please help clarify?
● Is this empty space common in the standard IS750 R2 chassis?
● Were any optional boards installed in this area on certain configurations?
● How can I identify whether a board is missing from my unit?
I have shared photo of the internal chassis and the empty space for reference.
Any advice from broadcast engineers or anyone who has serviced this model would be greatly appreciated.

I am using with a Panasonic HE-20 that we control with a stream deck through Bitfocus Companion.

This week though, an update was pushed and now the camera is marked as "deprecated" and will receive no further module updates. While the camera still works for now, I will not be able to replace the camera as we will need to use it and others of its model in the long term.

Does anyone know of any good alternative modules to use for the camera?

I've just released NxFrame v1.1 RC1, an open-source, low-latency SDI contribution encoder.

This release introduces several improvements, including:

• Configurable MPEG-TS PIDs, Service ID and PCR intervals.
• Improved MPEG-TS CBR pacing and traffic shaping.
• Custom PID configuration through JSON presets and the Web GUI.
• H.264 encoding with AAC and SMPTE 302M PCM audio.
• Additional transport diagnostics and Web GUI improvements.
• MPEG-TS capture directly from the CLI, on both sender and receiver sides, for troubleshooting and transport analysis:
  • Sender: --ts-capture video.ts
  • Receiver: --capture-ts receiver_video.ts

I've completed several stability tests using the following configurations:

• 1080p50, 10-bit 4:2:2 SDI input, encoded to H.264 at 30 Mbps video bitrate with a 40 Mbps CBR MPEG-TS.
• 1080i50, 10-bit 4:2:2 SDI input, encoded to H.264 at 14.5 Mbps video bitrate.

Testing included AAC and SMPTE 302M PCM audio, SRT disconnections and reconnections, MPEG-TS analysis using TSDuck, and playback through VLC and NxFrame's own receiver.

So far, the results have been encouraging, with stable playback and no recurring audio dropouts in the tested configurations.

I'm now looking for broadcast engineers who can help validate NxFrame against professional IRDs, particularly:

• MediaKind RX1, beam
• Haivision Makito decoders
• VITEC receivers
• ATEME IRDs
• Other professional broadcast IRDs

I'm particularly interested in MPEG-TS compliance, PCR/PTS timing, audio/video synchronization, long-term stability and SRT interoperability.

If you have access to professional receiving equipment and would be willing to run some tests, I'd really appreciate your feedback. Information about the receiver model, firmware version, tested configuration and any issues encountered would be especially helpful.

Got a studio rail and pantograph system for a small studio space that needs to be quickly repositioned to use 3 of the 4 sides for different sets.

Got the lights on the pantographs all good but looking for some sort of mount bracket to hold cameras. I’m thinking of some sort of u shaped bracket that can have the junior pin on the top and on the bottom a tripod head can be mounted?

Anyone know of anything of the shelf to achieve this?

Quick note it’s to be used only for static shots. Operators aren’t needing to pan or tilt during so no issues there. Once set that is it
