Hello Bombay lovers,

So before yesterday I had never heard of this breed. My beautiful Burmese boy Apollo died last year and I had the urge to look on pet rescue yesterday and saw this parlor panther was available. I googled the breed and saw they’re affectionate and dog like, which is also what they say about Burmese and what I loved about Mr. A.

This cats listing didn’t have any personality information, just that he was abandoned inside an apartment for two weeks 💔

So what do you think? Is there any breed specific questions I should ask his foster family?

I'm looking into purchasing a kitten from a breeder and wanted to get some opinions.

The breeder has virtually no online presence. I haven't been able to find reviews, social media activity, or much information about the cattery at all.

Because of this, I contacted the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) directly to verify the breeder's legitimacy. CFA confirmed that the cattery is registered under the breeder's name and has been registered since 2023.

I've also spoken with the breeder over the phone, and she seems legitimate. She accepts deposits but doesn't require full payment until the kitten is picked up in person.

My question is, how much weight should I give to the CFA registration? Is it fairly common for legitimate breeders to have little to no online presence, or would you consider this a red flag?

I'm just trying to do my due diligence before sending a deposit. I'd appreciate any insight from people familiar with reputable breeders and CFA registration.
