Most mornings, Ten and I have tea on the balcony around 4 or 5 a.m., before the world wakes up. This morning he stretched out near me while I gently stroked his side. No cuddling. That’s not his style. Just close enough to say, I’m here with you. We sat together in the darkness, lit only by the parking lamps, completely relaxed and quiet. Nothing extraordinary happened. It was simply peaceful, serene, and beautiful. Sometimes love looks exactly like that.
