The Quadrant are the latest in a long line of elements of this show that needed some seeding before we fully see them. This episode could've been better had they done that and if Diaz wasn't getting retrospective development.

While I understand everyone's frustration at not showing ollie until the end, it's done in a way to show how much less drama there is with Ollie without Felicity or the team, and therefore, no reason to have exposition.

So we finally get a real good episode of Arrow. More then that, a villain episode! And what do we have as a b-plot? Maybe Oliver learning to work alone again? Nope! Or Lance and Dinah trying to clean up police department? Wrong!

We get freaking Curtis and Felicity as b-plot. Cause those two are clearly important enough to be put into a villain episode! Those fucking writers, man...

Ok. That Diaz guy's actor is great. No doubt. But doesn't it feel somehow ridiculous. We got a villain who has no personal grudge with Oliver but he got a story of a sad and tortured orphan boy. It is good or it seems. The problem is we have got villains much more powerful, Ra's Al ghul and then the sorcerer Damien darhk and also the one who tortured Oliver psychologically Prometheus. But this is not a good idea. The villain is just not threatening enough.

He was awesome in HBO series OZ, very good actor, a similar style to how he acts here, I mean the way he talks and moves

man sick of this "rene in the hospital" acting like he was an innocent person attacked lol.

Even more stupid since Curtis hacked John's arm first and now they're acting like they didn't do anything and Oliver just attacked them.

Where can I find info about filming locations for this episode? The nightclub scene that Diaz and Laurel-2 are in

I really really like the Laurel / Diaz scenes. It shows a lot about their relationship with very little. She's completely comfortable speaking her mind and criticizing even given all the insanity, brutality and violence she's witnessed with/from Dick Dragon.

Plus Katie's fucking awesome. It makes me both pumped and sad thinking about how similar scenes could play out with BC/BS/Laurel & GA/Oliver in the future.

I'd kill for even a stripped down mini-arc of Laurel and Ollie just kicking ass together. Past Olicity shit aside, maybe our new Showrunner can bring it into reality. It's wishful thinking but with the way things are going it's possible we could start S7 with a solo Ollie "team" Arrow.

Diaz: "Cross me. I burn people alive."

Mick: "Hold my beer."

Fight/gun choreography was shocking as usual. There’s a point where a guy runs from behind a wall, could’ve shot Diaz straight in the head but instead runs back behind the wall and gets shot himself through it. Also, why is Laurel allowed to saunter into a room full of guys with machine guns and allowed time to gear up her scream?

There's a point where Diaz points out there are 3 behind them and 2 to the right and she screams at the 3 and we are led to believe the other two don't even bother shooting. As a minor point it's one thing but this show is riddles with things like this now.

That part with Laurel really ticked me off, all of them standing like idiots, or when Diaz killed that old dude, nobody killed him immediately, that was also strange

What's up with all the duplicate comments in this thread??

Bloke from this ‘Quadrant’ group that appeared from out of nowhere was right, though: Diaz is really nothing more than a street thug and has no place in an organisation like Quadrant

"dumb". Highly descriptive. Could you explain why you think so? The writers Black Siren's "redemption" ambiguous for a reason. Is there such thing as good people, or just good decisions? The thing about Black Siren is her actions are a survival mechanism. When being chased by Dinah, she assumes the identity of E1 Laurel Lance. She plays Quentin to get what she needs, etc.

I dont know if anyone here has played Mass effect 2 but this reminds me of Zaheed getting revenge on Vido. Even with the lighter. Just straight badass.

To tell you the truth, I like this episode more than most of arrow episodes cause its so raw and serious. It was kinda cheesy that Diaz was so hellbent on getting the quadrant but i guess its part of his plan. But it really shows why he is evil, and Laurel kinda reminds me of thea when she was learning how to be a hero shes tags along on this badass adventure of beatdowns. It also slightly shows laurel being affected by diaz's descent into vengence which is nice foreshadowing.

I like this episode cause its so simple bad guy being badass, and less corny heroes with drama between the different heroes.

Yeah, seeing Diaz being ridiculized and making errands was great too, him being humilliated but still at it to get a sit at the table told a lot of his personality, wasnt that invincible dark heart villain that is usually the case

3

u/All_this_hype Apr 20 '18

Well put but BS is not just tagging along, she's essentially the cavalry, to the point I wish we saw Diaz do more than fire his gun combat-wise.

2

u/CCskylar1 Apr 20 '18

Well yea I agree. I generalized it, but to me I like episodes like this for shows that view point of the villain instead of always the hero.

Fyi I just skip over the felicity scenes just too much useless drama and talking lol, Im more interested in BS and her development.
