Been testing out the new Spec Precision EXPS3, and so far I'm pretty impressed with it.
First thing I noticed was the build quality. It's noticeably heavier and more solid than the usual XPS clones, and the finish is probably the closest I've seen to a real EOTech. It's got all the correct markings as well.
The main thing I wanted to know before buying it was whether it was actually daylight bright. I've tried a few repros over the years, including the Holy Warrior S1, but always found the reticle too dim in bright sunlight. That was pretty much why I stopped bothering with them.
The reticle is very bright, works in direct sunlight.
Parallax is also noticeably better than the Holy Warrior S1, in my experience. It's obviously not perfect, but the S1 was pretty poor in that department, so big
improvement.
The buttons have nice, positive clicks, as do the zeroing adjustments. The QD mount feels solid too. I've had cheaper EXPS clones where the mounts have literally broken on me.
I've also tested the NV mode through analogue night vision, and it works really well.
It's currently sitting on a GHK V3 and has been holding zero so far. Spec Precision also states that it's tested to withstand 800G of recoil shock and is 5.56-rated, which is good to see, although I haven't tested those claims myself.
Only real downside I've noticed is the lens coating. Both lenses are quite reflective and seem to catch more light than a Vortex Crossfire, Vector Optics and some of my other red dots. Not a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning.
I'll be honest, I was pretty sceptical about spending the money on another repro optic after the amount of clones I've had that have been disappointing or just broken on me. But Spec Precision seem to have done a really good job with this one.
At this point, I'm struggling to see why you'll go for a Holy Warrior S1 over this, especially with the improvements in brightness and parallax.
Just be careful when ordering, as you want the 2026 Spec Precision version. I bought mine directly from their website, so I'd double-check what you're getting if ordering through other marketplaces.
Overall, very happy with it so far. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up over time.
