Has anyone ever tried modding this game on PC before? Let alone its textures?

I feel like Yooka-Laylee (both the game and the duo)'s models and designs could've used some more time in the oven, so I managed to get texture modding going using UABEANext to view, export, and import changes to Unity asset bundle files, and Concursus (Unity mod manager initially made for Sonic Superstars) to save the changes as a distributable mod.

• Cooler leaning color schemes for both
• New eye textures based on Kazooie's eye texture from Smash Ultimate
• Gave Yooka an overshirt (modified ambient occlusion and specular maps included)
• Made Yooka's mouth entirely black so he has no teeth as well as to hide the infamous double tongue issue

Currently its just the duo's own two models at the moment, with no changes to UI or anything, but I'll see what I can do going forward. I'll release this on Nexus when I can.

So for 4 bucks you can get 4 dlc tonics. Its cool but is it even worth it? I loved yooka replaylee so much that i already bought impossible lair today physically. But now i see this dlc. Is it worth 4 bucks in your opinion?

I remember on launch you'd talk to the robot and he would update the time or % or something every once in a while. I think its been more 5 years or something since the game released... did they ever add it?

This game was everything i wanted the original to be and more... I loved it

For some reason, bots keep reposting that "This is where I'd put my trophy" meme practically every week now, so I figured I'd switch (ha ha) things up a little. I actually do own a physical copy of the Switch version, so... I'll just put mine up there!

So I have a Lenovo legion laptop and switch 2 and both have the game 30% off. Which version is better/preferred?

I'm playing the game for the first time and I'm having so much fun right now but I have a question I can't get out of my mind. There will be a method to track missing pagies and quills in the future? A tonic or something, like the Spyro games when Sparx point the missing gems. Please I can't find good information about it and I don't want to go through YT videos or guides to get my missing quills (10 in the first book and 12 in the second book so far)

Does anyone have any tips on how to get the golden tonic?

I want to 100% the game. Or at least have my file display that I did, and it really bothers me that I wouldn’t be able to get a “complete” save file because it will say I didn’t get all tonics. I know this game is several years old now but still, has anyone else find it extremely annoying how the developers tied that single tonic to an extremely difficult challenge and also decided to display that on the save file even though this tonic is not even required of the platinum trophy.

Here lately, I've been replaying the original Yooka-Laylee (I'm sorry). I'll admit, this scene tends to get a chuckle out of me. It's pretty much what you'd expect from Rare. Even Laylee's couldn't help but call it out. lol

Sadly, Replaylee removed this scene. The room it was in was redesigned, so maybe they just wanted to streamline things? Who knows.

A while back, someone asked if the original Switch 1 version of Yooka-Laylee runs better on the Switch 2. I didn't have one at the time, but I do now, so I figured I'd test a few things. I know it won't magically run at a higher framerate, but for now, I can at least compare load times.

I've checked this with a few other games, and it seems the Switch 2 reduces load times for OG Switch games by over 50%. Even on cartridges, no less. That's pretty cool! I'll probably play the game a bit more later, as I want to see if faster loading fixed an issue I encountered during gameplay (on rare occasions, the game might briefly lock up while trying to load things in the distance. That shouldn't happen now, I'd think.)

...Okay, I know this isn't anything new, especially if you've been following Switch 2 talks and whatnot. I did hear about this before, but I didn't think it'd improve load times by this much.

Figured I'd post about this, just in case anyone's interested. This applies to the Steam version (no idea about the others).

The (admittedly brief) update post just listed these four things. I'll copy/paste it here.

• Controller, mouse and keyboard remapping.
• Mouse control on menus.
• Fixed blurry collection sequences when using MSAA.
• Fixed occasional soft-lock when opening the map screen.

The last one is certainly nice, given I ended up encountering it a handful of times (and the only way to get out of it was to alt+f4).

NGL the original YL was quite a slog to get through for me.

But this game, I blasted through in a mere 13 hours combined. I couldn't put it down.

I don't think I'll ever touch the original ever again.

So far the game is fantastic and clearly a much refined experience from the original. I'm still one of those people who thought the original was fantastic. But yeah they probably should have at least put in fast travel in. I mean BT had it.

But I digress, I dont understand why they needed to take away our ability to play though the game and learn moves as we progress. I'm a metroidvania guy and that is what i liked about BK and BT too.

And even if they wanted to make the game more accessible, it couldn't have been that hard to add a "classic mode" to the game when you start. The only difference is as you collect quills in each level, you can walk up to Trowser and unlock a new move.

Some of us enjoy backtracking and it definitely would not have taken away from the experience. Just my two cents.

This is (I think) the very first area in the game…I’ve been running around the area next to it trying to find different exits and cannot for the life of me figure out how to get back here. I imagine I’m missing something very obvious, but…

I have been looking for HOURS. Playing the original game not Replaylee. I don't want to look up the location but I'm starting to think there has been some kind of glitch preventing it from appearing.
