Discussion Made a Railways map of the whole Continent!
Got inspired to make a railway map of the Continent by the earlier post of a Metro of the Northern Kingdoms. https://www.reddit.com/r/witcher/comments/1xgzo4b/a_worthy_topic_for_discussion_what_if_the/
Used Nolan Kotulans map of the Continent as a base, becuase is I think its looks really good and I like looking at it :)
https://inkarnate.com/m/r8AgvW-the-continent
This map would be if there was peace between the nations of the Continent, which I know is unrealistic but I think it is more fun to think about the connections between the different kingdoms and trying to connect the whole Continent by railway rather than having seperated railway lines within each kingdom.
I tried to connect the major cities together through the smaller towns and villages (sometimes fortresses). I dont know how realistic some of the train stations and connections would be as I am not that well versed in each village and town and how large they are to merit a train station or not. On the railway stations that are at a Fortress they would probably not be passenger stops but rather cargo and military exclusive.
You could probably argue to add more railway lines to towns I left out like maybe in Cintra, eastern Redaina, Vizima to Gors Velen through the towns between them or just to off towns like I did with coppertown or Lyria that would merit a railway to them. Coppertown for example I added because of the mines there and that seemed reasonable to connect. I also deliberated if Creigiau needed a connection but as I read that it exports lumber to Kovir and Poviss it also felt reasonable to have a connection there. So there could probably be more towns and places that merit a connection to the railway.
I also think Kingdoms like Kovir and Poviss and Nilfgaard that are quite rich probably could pay for more out there stations to be connected compared to the other kingdoms. Mahakam I also think lore wise would be payed enterily by the dwarves to be connected the the other railways for trade. And maybe within the mountains the railway runs entierly underground in tunnels mined out by the dwarves?
Sadly, Skellige gets no railway but I do think they would have a great ferry service!
Also shoutout to Kovitbat https://www.reddit.com/user/KoviBat/ who made another version of a railway on the Continent.

Discussion A worthy topic for discussion: What if the Northern Kingdoms in the world of The Witcher had their own metro system?

Hearts of Stone What a magnificent and unrivaled story.
What a story this was. I've always held the opinion that Hearts of Stone has the better main quest, better character studies and better story writing, but Blood and Wine having the better cast of characters, side quests and overall addition to content in Witcher 3. But man, seventh playthrough of Hearts of Stone which I did after Blood and Wine- I've come to appreciate the themes A LOT more.
This is a story of love gone wrong. Olgierd loving Iris and Vlodimir in his own unique way cost them them both their lives, and almost cost him his own. More thoughts later.

Discussion Misconceptions about Ciri's powers.
I keep seeing people worry about Ciri’s power. What CDPR will do with it, how to explain it, how to nerf it. They say she’s too OP, she can do anything, why does she even need mutations and so on. All of that comes from not understanding where her powers come from and what they mean.
Powerful ≠ omnipotent.
Ciri’s powers consist of two things: Elder Blood and Source.
Elder Blood is a gene that works as a key to space-time manipulation and interdimensional travel. That's it. That’s what’s OP about her, and what Avallach refers to. It can open portals for whole civilizations, can transport entire armies to another world to conquer it. That's why it is OP, that's why it is the greatest power in the world. That is the only OP thing about Ciri, that one specific ability. But it’s strategic power, not combat power, not something you use in a fight. It’s irrelevant from a gameplay perspective. Other than that, she doesn't have anything special. She can’t turn people to dust with a finger snap, resurrect the dead, stop time, shoot lasers from the eyes, fly or tank a nuke.
CDPR also don’t need any awkward excuses for losing space-time travel, because it’s already established in the lore. Elder Blood is not new, it's just a recreation of what the Elves had. Elves used to be able to do the whole interdimensional travel long ago. And they lost it, presumably after the Conjunction. And what happened at the end of W3? That's right, another Conjunction started (not completed, but probably enough to ruin space-time travel again).
As for Source, there’s nothing special about it. There were many Sources, and not all became powerful mages. Ciri may be an exceptionally strong one, but inherited potential doesn’t mean much. To quote Tissaia de Vries: “No one is born a wizard”. Magic require talent and it has to be learned through hard work, dedication and discipline. You need to have the right mindset for that. And Ciri doesn’t have it. If for example Yennifer was a Source she would be crazy powerful. If Vilgefortz was, that mf could probably burn entire world. But Ciri is not a mage, she is a fighter. Physical training, fencing, that’s for her, she is a natural at this. But not magic. She always struggled with even simple magic, and the only reason she bothered with it was that the fate of the world depended on her space-time power and some magic skills are required to be able to use it. Now that she’s done with it, she has no reason to bother with trying to improve her magic anymore.
So there you have it, no nerfs or excuses are needed:
Interdimensional travel - gone.
Short-range blinks - keep as is, just balance for gameplay (cooldowns, energy, work like Signs).
Other magic - few simple spells that she learned, with possibility of upgrading depending on the build.
Power surges, screams, bursts - those are inconsistent and not controlled, can leave those for scripted story moments.
Ciri can be just like any normal witcher, only instead of the usual Signs she’d use a variety of simple magic (blinks, fireballs, lightning, heal, whatever).

The Witcher 3 I finally am able to beat the Chort

I’m a relatively new player and I fell for the apparent new player’s right of passage listening to people on Reddit and farming cows only to get butchered by the Chief.
I left and didn’t come back until much later in the game and now I fan easily kill the Chorts. Since the Chorts don’t like me farming cows I’ll just farm them!

Appreciation Thread Witcher 3 orchestra
Anyone on the fence about going to see this get involved, went last night in Liverpool and such a good show.
Was bought it as a birthday gift and wasn't sure what to expect as I'm more of an old raver but the orchestra and especially but for me personally the singers blew me away.
Very chill vibe too with all walks of life enjoying it.
Just a random post as they really deserve as much attention to what they are doing as possible.

Mod | Witcher 3 Multi companion mod for console
Does anyone know if the Multi Companion mod will eventually be added to console as an option? With the release of the Remaster, I was really hoping this mod would be incorporated as an option in the console mod options (I play on PS5).

The Witcher 3 Gwent tips for someone who doesn't like it
Hey reddit, i have a relatively simple request:
Is anyone willing to share their tips/tricks/decklist for gwent in The Witcher 3?
For some reason, even though I've been playing MtG since like 20 years, i just don't like the game, but i started playing again with the remaster and want to get all the achievements, so if anyone has any pro way to play/any way to cheese it, I'm all ears
No offense to anyone who likes it of course, just not for me unfortunately, any help will be greatly appreciated! 🤍
