Good friend of mine's favorite band is Ween, and I finally had him steer me where I should start listening. They have so much music!!

Loving their more polished and tight recordings over their low fi stuff, but finding I really like their live stuff. I love White Pepper, Quebec, Shinola vol. 1 and loved watching live in chicago dvd (2003?).

Any particular shows or deep cuts you like?

Also, what's the status of Dean and Gene? They still talking and good or have I missed the chance to see them live?

I asked this subreddit about a month ago if there were any good Ween tribute acts that existed, and it turns out there's one right in my backyard. I saw they had their 10th anniversary show coming up, so I grabbed a couple of tickets. To be honest, I was expecting maybe a 6 out of 10. It was a cover band, and I would have been quite happy with that, but oh my God.

This band is incredible. That frontman had the energy, the spirit, the humor. It was absolutely freaking amazing. I was mesmerized from the first note to the last.

It's moments like these that make me happy I live in a great city. Just a cool venue and amazing musicians playing an amazing catalog of music. It was so good. For anyone in Toronto, what a show these guys put on.

I had these awful neighbors that lived next to me in a row house. They never took their dog for a walk and let him take shits in their back patio. I could see from my second floor the piles of shit growing and stinking up our chill backyard. They had an above ground pool and suddenly had a possum floating dead… and then a cat. Each time, they did nothing to remove the animals. I was able to clamp the critters and remove them, as the summer sun was doing no favors. One day, their dog was barking for many hours. I knocked on their door and told them to take care of it. Nothing happened. I then positioned my 100 watt amp out the window, connected my CD player to it, and put in Pure Guava. I cranked the amp and set Mourning Glory to repeat. I left the house to get a coffee. When I came back, the dog was back inside.

It may beat out that performance of Nan in Athens as my favourite track on the comp.
