Looking for Student Piano Teacher

Hello again everyone,

I can smell the downvotes coming from here, so I will also try and inquire in-person but I’m not sure how to go about that as I’m not that close to the music department or connected with anyone in there, but I am wondering if there are any students here interested in giving private beginner-level piano lessons.

I can either exchange for tutoring in general English, research writing, or psychology (particularly PSYC101, , or PSYC401). I also know Braille and Nemeth if anyone for whatever reason wanted to learn those from me instead, or I can pay up to $40/hour (negotiable).

I am visually impaired so don’t know sheet music and couldn’t use it reliably. If anyone over the past two months has heard in the Honors college what sounds like the Lumineers stuck in an MRI machine, that has been me. I took piano lessons when I was 7-8 and have tried to pick it back up off and on again since but would love to actually get some formal lessons. Thanks so much

His microbiology class used to be online and much easier (from what I heard) it’s in person now and he changed up his teaching style so I want to hear opinions from current students

Mental Health in RVA for Students

I’m a senior who’s been dealing with mental health issues since before college but it’s been getting worse each semester. I’ve gotten in touch with basically every vcu resource you could think of at this point and things would get better for a little bit only for everything to rebound back. I need a psychiatrist to diagnose me but then I get too overwhelmed and physically unwell. I can’t ever seem to get just quite what I need from any counseling sessions. I bounce between doing very well in academics to radio silence and failing classes within the semester. I just don’t know who to reach out to at this point. I don’t know what I need or how anyone can help and if I can even bring myself to graduate because it’s been the worst ever this semester. Any kind of advice or feedback outside of “get in touch with this vcu resource” can help. I need maybe local richmond recommendations. Maybe a specific person. Not a general vcu office that i’ve likely already been in touch with and hasn’t been able to give me the specific help I need with my situation.

Does anyone on campus have hair bleach?

Hey guys, I bleached my roots this weekend and I missed a tiny spot. I don't want to have to buy a whole packet when I only missed a spot. Like I would only need a pinch of bleach, so if anyone is willing to spare some let me know.

Any parking decks free on Sunday?

I graduated from VCU in May and I always had a parking pass at West Carry Street deck. All the public libraries are closed on Sunday I think and I need to study for a nursing school exam. Any decks open?

Spring Only Application

Hello, I am a returning sophomore. I didn't get into housing for the fall semester, but I lived on campus all of my first year. I **need ** to come back. I emailed my concerns to housing, and they said "our Spring Only application opens on October 24th." I checked the starrrez housing portal and found NOTHING related to this. Does anyone know what to do???

Nursing School question for my highschool sophomore.

We live in Yorktown, but RVA is one of our favorite places. We literally go up every other weekend and just find new things to do. So over the years, my daughter has fallen completely in love with the area and now dreams of going to VCU's nursing school and eventually becoming an NP. School has always come really easy to her, so we've told her she could literally go anywhere she wants, but to her, it's VCU or bust.

She has the opportunity to take 2 additional AP classes next year (junior year) or spend half her day at New Horizons taking a PCA class to eventually get her CNA coming out of high school.

So my question is:

- Would having the PCA/CNA stuff on her transcripts help her in anyway or would taking the additional AP classes be better for her? She currently has a 3.8 GPA with 3 of her current classes as APs.

I have heard that she has to apply to the nursing program during her college sophomore year? So would either really matter at that point?

Thanks so much in advance, she's our only child and we just want to help her make the best decisions possible for her future.
