33M You might be good distraction

I like chemistry on the dance floor and a little competition on the squash court. A good conversation can have both…

I work in tech and explore startup ideas. You’ll probably hear “Okay, hear me out…” from me at some point. But don’t worry, I’m not here looking for investors 😄

I enjoy flying planes, but I’ll save those stories for later. Back on the ground, I’m into Latin dancing, wine tasting, and a good cocktail. Sometimes, though, it’s just hookah and a conversation that takes an unexpected turn…

You don’t have to share any of those interests. Hearing you get excited about something I know nothing about could be just as interesting. Especially if you’re comfortable teasing me a little along the way.

I have a dog. I’m holding back the photos for now; I’d like a chance to win you over myself first.

I’m here for a little banter, a little flirting, and messages that start with “I have to tell you what happened.” It would be nice to figure out each other’s sense of humour and let the rest happen without rushing it.

No need to introduce yourself like this is a job interview. I haven’t put my whole story here either.

Tell me something I wouldn’t guess about you. I’ll return the favour.

34M and feeling pathetic

Post image

Feeling pathetic even posting to here, especially considering what I'm dealing with is nothing compared to what others have to put up with, but sometimes it's good to just scream into the void.

Long story short; never had a relationship and still a virgin. Just a case of being chronically shy in my teens and twenties and consistently catching feelings for women who were either already in relationships or (at most) saw me as a friend. Completely gave up hope at 29 when I realised I was going to lose my hair before my virginity.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I was happy with that decision, but I was at peace with it. However, a friend has recently convinced me to try and put myself back out there, and I'm in the process of getting some pictures together for the apps. Don't really have any other avenues to naturally meet people; mostly work from home, friends are spread out across the country and all my interests and hobbies don't really lend themselves to socialising, so apps it is.

Don't hold out much hope of getting anywhere on the apps; I'm not particularly fit, fashionable or photogenic, and on paper I'm pretty boring. But what's making me anxious is what if I get to the point of getting dates and I get dropped because of my lack of history? General consensus seems to be that's a serious red flag at my age. I'm not backing out and I'm going to commit to this, but I am scared that I'm just opening up a new avenue for life to hurt me for no benefit.

TLDR; anxious it's too late for me to find love and romance, and could really do with some free dopamine from some kind Internet strangers.

F 19. Do I have a masculine skull shape? Just want to be girly :) Is it distinguishable from males? Round, square, oval? Been told that female skulls are recognized and distinguished from male skulls cause they're longer and narrow than males.

Does my skull fall within the normal range for a female skull or does it represent a male skull?

I [F19] graduated with a HS and AA degree AT THE SAME TIME after a vigorous battle with bipolar disorder! Received high honors even with a quarter full of Fs (due to a hospital stay).

Realizations

Celebrated my 35th birthday yesterday but just found out that one of my co-workers who recently retired suffered a stroke and is currently in the hospital. It made me realize that life is indeed short and we need to make the best of it. Here's hoping that I take more risks and overcome my fears so that I don't hold myself back.

F26 Difficult to plan my life when there's no stability

Post image

I work as an English tutor, and in my country the competition is fierce. I tried various platforms and found a few students which was successful, yet it's not enough. I don't struggle to pay my rent and my bills, but if I have to pay for my dog's treatment, it's quite hard to afford it.

I'm not a fan of credit cards, so I just save money and pay with my savings.

The second struggle is being neurodivergent and having PMDD on top of that. I'm coping with all that, but some months are just hell-ish.

I'm currently studying French, my level is around B1-2, so planning to pass an exam and teach it. Also find students abroad. Now there's no stability, unfortunately. Students can come and go, because of too much stress and financial struggles.

Not looking for advice, just some support and things like "you can do it, girl!".

Widowed, unemployed, sad and lonely. But Im still moving forward!

As the title says I'm widowed. I'm unemployed and I'm so lonely. I thought I knew what loneliness was because I enjoyed being alone and I didn't have any friends, but after my husband passed, loneliness is becoming an entirely new subject to me. I didn't know that silence could be so loud. But everyday I wake up, I put in job applications, I make myself something to eat, and I keep moving forward. Because I know he'd be mad at me if I let myself slip.

Title: It's been a rough year, and I could really use a little positivity right now.

Hey, everyone. I posted here about a year ago, and the kindness I received genuinely helped me through a difficult time. So I figured I'd come back and give it another shot.

I'm a dad, a granddad, and a guy who's usually pretty good at keeping his sense of humor, even when life decides to kick him in the teeth.

But lately, things have been rough.

I've been dealing with a lot of chronic pain, neurological issues, and other medical problems. It feels like every time I get one thing under control, something else decides to join the party. I'm still working, still taking care of my responsibilities, and still trying to enjoy the things I love, but some days it gets exhausting.

The hardest part isn't always the physical pain. Sometimes it's watching my body struggle with things that used to be easy, and trying not to let that change how I see myself.

I don't want to give the impression that everything in my life is terrible, because it isn't. I've got people I love, hobbies that make me happy, and plenty of reasons to keep smiling. I'm just feeling a little worn down lately, and my confidence has taken a few hits.

I think I just need a reminder that I'm still doing okay, even if I don't always feel like it.

So, Reddit, if you've got a little kindness to spare, I could really use a toast.

Thanks for listening. ❤️
