Hey,

I’m a queer student from India looking for some real connections and crazy good time in Israel. I didn’t really have many queer friends growing up - want to change that here.

Tips to meet queer men for friends/potentially more than friends in TLV? Hit me up pls! (Also do not suggest the apps, it’s not appealing at all).

Hi,

I’ll be making aliyah within the next few months and from the couple of times I’ve been as well as from the Internet, I have yet to witness a gay Israeli man who wasn’t absolutely gorgeous and fit. I’m definitely not ugly, I’m 22, keep myself cleaned up nicely and I have a pretty decent face I’d say. I’m not super big or anything, but I’m not muscular or fit; my situation is a pretty standard “bear” type I think? I know looks aren’t everything and I’m certainly not about to be doom and gloom about an intimidating dating scene either way, but I was just curious from people who have been in TLV/Israel for a while, is it always so intimidating dating as a gay person who isn’t the Israeli drop dead gorgeous/fit? Also, I’m really more long-term relationship oriented, so maybe that also plays a role in things?

Either way, תודה :)

been tracking what i pay for the same basket for a while now and the gap between places is kind of silly. same cottage, same eggs, same pasta, and the difference between the am:pm downstairs and a rami levy or osher ad 20 min away is easily 25-30% on a normal week.

the annoying part is it's not consistent. shufersal deal sometimes beats everyone on dairy, then the next week it doesn't. and the branch matters too, not just the chain.

so for people who actually live here and don't have a car, what's your system? one big shop somewhere cheap and the makolet for top ups? online delivery? or do you just accept the convenience tax

Kaīls!

Shalemu!

Are there any people in Israel or the Tel Aviv area who practice paganism? I read about activists and groups involved in this. I tried to find them online. I'm not sure many of them are still active.

Dėkoju.

Thank you.

Hi friends, I’m an Aussie Oleh Chadash and I’ve been living in TLV for about a year. During this time I’ve made a dedicated effort to learn Hebrew in order to properly integrate into society. I’m not fluent, but improving every day and I now operate in Hebrew-only environments like my work and social settings

However, I’ve noticed a lot of Olim that have lived here for 2+ years and haven’t learned Hebrew. They operate completely in English, and their social circles and workplaces are all English-speaking. I’ve also met many that made Aliyah over 5+ years ago and still don’t speak. This obvs excludes people who migrated and did military service.

I understand that it’s a hard language and I try not to judge, but to me learning the country’s language feels so important for genuine assimilation into its culture and community. I guess because everyone in TLV has such good English there isn’t much motivation and it’s easy to survive without it.

I was wondering if this is genuinely a common occurrence here in your guys’ experience, and also what the local residents think about it?

How do you find work in Israel if you don’t speak Hebrew? I’m especially wondering about professional-level careers. How long did it take you to find a job, what it in your field and what sort of issues did you face with navigating that.

Did I miss anything?

Fantasy, sci fi, thrillers

30-60 shekels per book

All in excellent condition

Feel free to DM me

I also sell playing cards

Arriving in a few days and staying at a small hotel. There is a mamad (shelter) below the lobby. How will I know whether I should go down? Will the hotel make an announcement or knock on doors? Will the siren wake me if I’m in a deep sleep? What do I bring with me?
I know there’s an app but I’m afraid it will be going off a lot and scaring me (at least that was the advice I was given in 2024 but maybe that’s because there were more rockets then?) Please help this nervous tourist traveling alone.

If you’re in Tel Aviv this weekend, I’d love to see you at my open studio sale!

I have a flight to Ben Gurion in a few days… do I need to be concerned about cancelation? 🫠🫠🫠

My family and I have been living abroad in London for a few years and we are planning our move back to Israel. Our kids are primary school aged. We’re trying to figure out where we should look to buy in Israel. We’re considering living off Rothschild, Chen, or near Dizengoff/Nordau. But I’m worried about the day to day reality of living in older buildings with kids. So we’ve also been considering some of the newer coastal developments going up.

Do you think any of these would be a good fit for a family, or are there other areas we should be looking at?

Curious to hear everyones favorite Israeli food, let me know down below!

All gyms just advertise as Muay Thai / Thai boxing regardless of their actual fighting style i think? Anyways im looking for dutch style k1 gym recommendations in tel aviv to try out.

So no elbows and clench work. More about punch combinations etc. Thank you!

Hello, I’m new to Tel Aviv just got here a few weeks ago on Taglit. I’ve reached the point where I’m not really sure what to do with myself while I wait for my papers, so I’m mainly wondering where the music spaces are where I can meet musicians. If anyone here knows any recording studios (not the top of the line expensive ones advertised on Google) or spaces/events to mingle with people that would be awesome! I’ve been walking around the city with my guitar hoping it will help as a conversation starter lol, but I’m ultimately looking to forge a network find people to play with. Best case scenario is to start a band and start playing.

TLDR; wondering where the spaces are to meet musicians, mingle, make friends, and record.

Coming to Tel Aviv solo soon and looking to stay by the beach so I can take morning walks and swims, but then walk into the city center to meet friends and shop. I looked at Brown Beach House, Artist Hotel, and a couple others. Anyone know anything? Musts: VERY CLEAN, natural light, breakfast, and a common area or bar for me to hang. No large hotels like Hilton, Sheraton, etc. I'll take semi-luxury and tiny over a high rise.

Hi! I’m from the U.S. and may be traveling to Tel Aviv with my 3-year-old and 5-month-old for about two months.
For anyone living in or recently visiting Tel Aviv, how safe does it feel right now? Are missile alerts and sirens frequent? Would you feel comfortable staying there with two young children?
I’d appreciate honest, firsthand perspectives on the current situation, shelter accessibility, and flight reliability. Thank you!

So, I have a friend that I’d like to buy a gift for. My budget is 100€ or 300 something Israeli dollars. I’d like something he could use and say, “Yeah, my friend got it for me.” He likes cooking and already has a collection of cutting boards and knives. If I were to buy him a knife, I’d want it to be like Israel themed or something, if you know what I mean. I just don’t know where to find stores like that. Some help would be appreciated:))

I’m doing due diligence on my shortlist of developers in Israel while I’m looking at buying an apartment in Tel Aviv. I’ve found out they were behind some of the projects Sde Dov and Rothschild like Rainbow and SHE.

For anyone who has lived in one of their buildings, what has your experience been like? Anything I should know before considering one of their projects?

What are the minimum ages for clubs/bars in TLV? I am American (over 18 under 21) but heard some places are 21+ or even 24+. Does this hold true for tourists or will I be fine?

I have been traveling to TLV frequently for work, usually staying at The Norman. Now I am looking to establish a long-term base in TLV. Where in the city should I look for an apartment if I want to be centrally located and able to walk to everything?

For context, I'm in fintech and a US resident living in New York City.

i have some free time (from now until 14.10) and i wanted to offer cat sitting and house sitting in Tel Aviv. If you are planning to travel or leave town for a bit and are looking for someone reliable and caring to look after your cats and stay at your place, feel free to send me a direct message!
Happy to provide references and share more details in PM.
