📣 Community Post Warrant Expiration (or possible extension) Megathread

Wait, I've been living under a rock for over a year, WTF is a Warrant??

Go here:

https://investor.gamestop.com/warrant-dividend/default.aspx

Read the FAQ

Can you sell or exercise warrants in Computershare?

Yes, but you have to use their Corporate Action System website:

https://gamestop.computersharecas.com/offer/

It's a separate tool, just like the site used for voting your shares in CS is a separate tool.

You cannot manage warrants in Investor Center or in the Official App.

A critical thing to remember:

You can only make ONE ONLINE TRANSACTION and any subsequent transaction will require a paper form and waiting on the USPS / FedEx / UPS.

That's one exercise or one sale, not one of either. Keep that in mind.

You should have received a paper statement and two emails from Computershare back in Oct or Nov 2025.

The paper statement looks like this

There were two emails were sent from noreply@computersharecas.com, the first with the subject line "GameStop Warrant Exercise" and the second with the subject line ""GameStop Warrant Exercise - Part 2"

Together, they contain the account ID, control number, and the url to access the tool.

What if I lost my Control Numbers??

You can look in the Documents tab in Investor Center, and there should be a PDF copy of the paper statement they mailed to you that will have the codes you need.

This post explains it.

Can I run a test to see how selling works??

No. You only get ONE ONLINE TRANSACTION. There is nothing to prepare on the computersharecas website, it is only used to exercise or sell, you can't set up for future orders or anything like that. People have fucked around, sold when they didn't really mean to, and burned their only option for selling online.

Is selling warrants on CS instant like selling shares from Investor Center?

No. People have reported selling taking a day or two, and missing out on a better price. Do not expect to be able to pull the trigger and catch a brief spike in price.

How long does it take to exercise a warrant?

People have reported it taking several days to more than a week between submitting the order to exercise and the shares settling in their account.

I have more questions about warrants in Computershare!

Read the FAQ (PDF)

Can I get my warrants transferred back to my broker from CS?

Yes. All transfers to or from CS are initiated by your broker. Call them, tell them you want to transfer shares out of the transfer agent, and provide them with the information they'll need. People have reported about 2 days for shares to be transferred back to Fidelity and 3-5 days have been quoted by some other brokers.

For Fidelity (thanks PensiveParagon):

You can do it entirely from Fidelity's website. 1. Login 2. Click Transfer 3. Select "Transfer cash or shares..." 4. Select "Transfer an account to Fidelity" Note: Don't worry you get to choose exactly what transfers, not your entire ComputerShare account.

In the Account transfer screen, 1. Select ComputerShare 2. Enter your account number(s), and continue through the options. 3. Select "GME/WS GameStop Equity Warrant Expiry 30th October 2026 (36467W117)"

My warrants showed up in fidelity in 1 day, confirmed in 2 days.

What about selling or exercising from my broker?

You generally have to call customer service to exercise, and you may need to request to talk to a team that deals with corporate actions. Some brokers may have the option to manage them online.

What about the timeframe? Don't these expire on Oct 30th?

Yes. Computershare states that you should submit any order to sell or exercise at least a week in advance, and if you have to mail a form, you need to account for the time it takes a letter to get to Rhode Island. Many brokers also recommend a week's notice. Waiting until the day of expiration will probably mean you'll have a bad time.

What happens when they expire?

They disappear from your account, worthless. Nothing automatically exercises or sells, and, if not extended, you will lose any value they have remaining.

What about the warrants getting extended?

Its a possibility, not a certainty.

Gamestop could extend the warrant expiration date or change other terms like the strike price at their discretion. From what I understand, extending the warrants does not incur any costs to the company, but does move money around on the balance sheet. On the other hand, issuing new warrants would incur a similar expense as when the current warrants were issued, which I think was around $40 million, an expense they had to pay to avoid being forced to amend the terms of the convertible bonds.

When will we know if they are getting extended?

Potentially as late as the day of expiration. This may not be true.

bobsmith808 dug into this and found that NYSE rules and SEC regulations could play a role in when Gamestop could announce a extension

For an orderly rollover and change to the warrants which would actually be able to fucking happen, given the laws, rules, manuals, operational considerations, and, of course, paying particular care to supporting the coke habits of everyone on wall street, the absolute cutoff for an announcement of change to the terms of the warrants, in my humble fucking opinion would be about 10 calendar days, or 5-7 business days before expiration.

For those absolute mouth breathers reading this wanting to vomit something in the comments that means:

10 calendar days before expiration is October 20th, 2026.

7 trading days before expiration is October 21rd, 2026.

5 trading days before expiration is October 23th, 2026

Gamestop has stated in a previous filing that a reminder about warrant expiration should be issued between 10 and 30 days before Oct 30th.

That reminder was published to the Gamestop investor newsroom and filed as an 8-K with the SEC on Oct 19th.

GameStop Reminds Holders of October 30, 2026 Warrant Expiration Date

GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) (“GameStop” or the “Company”) today reminds holders that its warrants to purchase shares of Class A common stock (“Common Stock”) will expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on October 30, 2026. Each warrant is exercisable for one share of Common Stock at an exercise price of $32.00 in cash. Warrants not exercised by that time will expire worthless.

Maybe they get extended in spite of this reminder, maybe they don't. Its a gamble.

If nothing else, Ryan Cohen's insider purchase filings have disclosed that he hasn't sold any of his warrants. Will he hold to expiration and allow them to disappear worthless? Only he knows for sure.

What should I do with my warrants??

Whatever you want, we're not your dad.

If you sell now, you are potentially missing out on a spike in price.

If you exercise now, you're wasting money that could buy more shares on the open market for the same dollar amount.

If you hold to expiration, you are rolling the dice and hoping they get extended.

There's no perfectly safe option, and its all a big gamble with risks. You have to decide what you're most comfortable with and live with what happens.

Please keep the comments helpful or informative. If you talk to individual brokers and figure things out please post below.

Best of luck to everyone, these are exciting times!

New information from the comments:

Per Section 4.01(h) of the warrant agreement, the strike price or exercise rate can not be adjusted without it taking effect for a minimum of 20 trading days. There are too few trading days left for that to be possible.

Thanks to BananaOrp for finding the source!

New information from other posts:

Fidelity's deadline for exercising is 7PM Oct 29, 2026. And they will accept orders to exercise on a "best effort" basis until 11AM ET on 10/30/2026.

Thanks to Over-Computer-6464 for the source

225.000 warrants increase the borrow rate by 400%? Crazy. This is getting exciting. Keep in mind.. japan might increase rates again and shit is hitting the fan. I‘m 6 years in, never sold a single share. If our board tried it with the warrants and it failed.. so be it. I‘m still here because of the big money. Nobody had made any good counter DD until now. And i tell you it won‘t change. We will moon. Tomorrow. Als always.

🤔 Speculation / Opinion My Theory: Warrant expiration will be suspended.

Here me out. This is not financial advice, it's pure hopium.

Sometime in the next 2 days, potentially tomorrow before $EBAY earnings, $GME will conduct a press-release announcing a shelf suspension of the warrants. They will do this because they are legally required to.

Suspensions exists for blackout periods. Blackout periods are announced when a company has material nonpublic information, such as a pending deal or an unannounced financial event, that would make issuing shares off a stale prospectus a SEC Section 11 and 12(a)(2) liability.

In the event of a pending the release of material non-public information, the board of $GME (in its sole discretion and requiring no other form of 3rd part notification) may decide a suspension is “necessary or desirable”. When this occurs, exercise is blocked while the suspension lasts. The Expiration Date is then automatically pushed out by the greater of 5 business days or the length of the suspension.

Keeping that in mind, this is what we know:

  1. Murmurs of a new $EBAY private equity deal that was leaked on financial media.

  2. RC publicly stating, if you want to help $GME, short it.

  3. Basically the entire $GME board buying in the past month or so.

  4. The regular quarterly insider trading blackout began Saturday, Oct 24, 2026.

  5. A shelf suspension is leak proof. It takes only a board decision, one that ought to be taken if they're planning on releasing material nonpublic information.

  6. A share buyback announcement would be a classic reason to invoke a shelf suspension.

So all of that is to say, do we got something here?

I don't know.

But it sure seems like spicy tin to me.

🗣 Discussion / Question A little company that GameStop just happens to own 9.8% of has earnings tomorrow.

Have not seen this mentioned around here so I figured I would bring it up since if GME's E-baby does well then we all do well.

Also, I found it interesting that when eBay popped up over $125 briefly the other day it seems to be suppressed down immediately afterwards.

Any how, it could be a good day for earning tomorrow since there was some big announcements from eBay recently.

👽 Shitpost I've been balls deep in this company since the sneeze, and thanks to all the psy-ops we've been through until today made me a monster. Why? Because I. FEEL. NOTHING.

I can't even laugh at the blatant attempts to destabilize this sub. I just see numbers, and the numbers say that we've been in the green for quite some time now. It's crystal clear: we're solvent, we're in the money, we've got investments that make even more money, and at this point it's literally like growing money on trees.

Look at the market right now and you'll see that there's a company out there recently reporting that they literally burned 72 fucking BILLION in three years. If it was our case we would be ripping our ballsacks with fishing line tied up to a doorknob and posting it somewhere as a desperate attempt of making money to sustain ourselves. That is not our situation, because our Asian guy among the others that aren't so chatty know more than math. It shows. (Also, he's goddamn hot and clearly fucks with the force of a kilometric freight train)

If this is the best big players can do, I can't wait to see the finantial equivalent of this scene happen in real time:

Oldboy 2003 - Tooth Torture

That is all. If you still are able to feel something, don't lose the chance to touch grass.

🤔 Speculation / Opinion eBay obsession and speculation

Post image
184 Upvotes

We own 9.8% of eBay. Ebay's earnings is tomorrow at 2:30 pst.

If they beat and run, we should move with it.

I want warrants to be in the money too, but I don't know anymore.

Anyways, eBay may influence GameStop share price. I remain hopeful.

Also looking at the daily chart, 9/25 was the day shorts dropped the price from 24.96 high to 23.06 in like the first 1-2 hours.

It looks like someone may have opened a short position that day. However, there were more consecutive insider buys thereafter causing the price to surge to 28.

Something is cooking and someone is purposely pushing prices down to get out or short warrants to oblivion.

A lot of mysteries and price action going on behind the scenes.
