Hello, I (16M) am planning to apply to universities for the 2028 intake. I am interested in studying BSc Artificial Intelligence at University of Groningen taught in Germany

However, we don't know much about the actual student experience, including the details about education, student life, and career opportunities, so I thought I'd ask here.

I am fluent in English and has German proficiency at around B2 level.

I'm also somewhat sceptical about BSc AI degree since I hear on internet that doing sole AI degree is not worth it and that too in a university from small city. I would appreciate honest opinions from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the university.

How is the overall student experience, and how good are the career prospects, is masters required?

Any honest experiences, insights, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi! Hope this is okay to post in here!

I'm a 22 yo CMD student and I want to start a new original band. I sing (clean), write songs and play some rhythm guitar. I'm into Thornhill, Bad Omens, Sleep Token and Spiritbox, so heavy, melodic and a bit dark.

I've written and produced some stuff on my own, but I'd rather build the actual sound with other people than just teach everyone my songs. I'm down to share a link to my soundcloud, but idk if its cool to have it in my post because it can feel promotional lol

What I'm looking for:

• a lead guitarist who can really play, ideally someone who can also do extreme vocals to go against my clean vocals

• a bassist

• a drummer

About 21-30, serious about original music and happy to rehearse regularly. Doesn't matter if you're student or working.

If you're interested, or just know someone who might be, send me a DM or comment below. A clip of you playing would be great but isn't required. Also happy to just chat about music if that's more your speed. :)

Hi, I would like to hear from current or former EBE students at RUG whether they’re satisfied with the program/uni.
I am mostly concerned about the quality of education, does the program feel up to date, how are the teachers or anything you’d like to share.
Is there any difference from other universities?

Hi! I'm currently trying to apply for my bachelor degree at the University of Groningen. I uploaded all my documents on Studielink, now I just need to pay my application fee, but I keep getting an error. I tried multiple cards and browsers but the answer is the same. Does anyone else have this problem or know how I can fix it?

Hello! I am looking to take over a a contract or simply just to find and rent an apartment or studio in Groningen.

I'm willing to pay as much as 1200€, I am quite desperate to find something.
I cannot attend viewing as I am not in the Netherlands at the moment but I will be on the 5th of November. Please let me know of anything, I have tried Pararius and other such services for months and not succeeded.

I already have a job in the fast food sector to pay my studies but I wanted to change it with a better one.
I don’t wanna do anymore night shift or cleaning, nobody will kick me out from the place I work, so I guess I will have some time to find a suitable solution for me.
I already have experience as a sales assistant in Lidl (but not in NL), I would really want to work for Aldi, Lidl (for the good pay as well), but I have the impression that they are looking for Dutch speakers.
I am studying Dutch but really slowly since I am already working everyday for my internship and then weekend in fastfood. I know that I can find a better position, but if you already know who is hiring international, you will make me save a lot of time.
Dankjewel!!

Cat missing since Tuesday, October 6, in the area of Gorechtkade / Jan Hissink Janssenstraat / Gerbrand Bakkerstraat / A.P. Fokkerstraat.

Castrated, microchipped, and not wearing a collar. 13-year-old male (though he looks a bit younger). Average build.

Flynnie has been missing for a week now. There is absolutely no trace of him, and he could be anywhere in the city by now. Any help keeping an eye out or searching is greatly appreciated—thank you!!

Please send me a DM if you’ve seen him. Many thanks in advance!!

Hi there, I'm coming to Groningen on a 6 month exchange from Canada and I've been looking for housing. Looked far and wide but narrowed my options down to The Social Hub, which is a steep price but luckily I have the money for, or waiting for SSH registration and booking to open. Room quality and proximity to RUG is important but I'm mainly set on the socialising scene, wanna make some mates while I'm over here. Is The Social Hub or SSH better for making friends? If its the latter which building should I choose? Thanks in advance.

Hi!
Im pretty new to the city moved in like a month ago.
I am a first year student at the university studying Applied Physics.
Mainly looking for someone who hasn’t explored the city yet and would like to do that together.
I am an international student so we can converse in English!
I might be socially awkward at first but it’ll get better overtime I promise. I’m also planning to explore rest of Europe later on as well!

Hi everyone!

I’m currently working on my graduation research about UMCG’s employer brand and how final-year healthcare master’s students perceive UMCG as a potential employer.

I need a few participants to give me a 15 minute interview on this topic, where all your answers will be used solely for my research and you can also remain anonymous if you wish.

I am flexible to do the interviews online or in person at UMCG itself.

It would be great if you could also share this amongst your circles if you don’t fit the target audience.

I owe you a coffee if you participate!!

Thank you 🫶🏽

Hey, for next year as a student in Zernike Campus, which of these options do you think is better from your experience (or knowing from someone) and why?

Especially the first two. Note Xior has three locations I think.

Thanks in advance!

Hello I am a Malaysian student going for an exchange at Hanze University of Applied Sciences at Groningen next year for one semester. I've never been to Europe before, so it would be nice if there are people who can give me some advice and guidance (specifically the housing & costs etc) to keep myself alive there. I'm hoping to know if there's any Malaysians studying there as well😭

As an international student, I am looking to study at either Maastricht University or the University of Groningen for International/European law. If anyone has studied at either university, please share your experience. I'd like to know how easy it is to make friends with people from different backgrounds and how nice the cities are to live in. I come from a big city, so I feel like I am more used to that vibe, but obviously I know that neither of these places is big per se. I just want to know which place has the best opportunities for law, and is generally the nicest to go out and live in. For context, I have a Middle Eastern background, so I would also love to join any Arab student association, but it's not a requirement. Thank you!!

Hi I recently moved to Groningen for my studies and don’t really know that many people here yet, so I’m looking to meet some new people and make some friends to hang out with, grab some drinks, go out, or just do random stuff together. honestly down for pretty much anything one day you’ll find me painting, the next I’m karting I’m pretty spontaneous and always up for trying something new, also I speak both Dutch and English, so either works!

Hey guys, so I'll be joining rug in the Feb intake for my master's in supply chain management!! Anyone else joining this time and you maybe wanna talk and discuss stuff about living and housing and things please feel free to dm me as id love to have conversations with my to be peers. Im coming from India so if there are any indians lurking around please do dm me let's chat for sure!

Hi everyone, as I’m looking for student accommodations for short stays I came across student guesthouse and I’ve seen that it offers affordable prices.
The only problem is that it’s neither known nor suggested and I was wondering if it’s reliable.
Do you happen to know someone who went there?
Or have you ever been there?

Lmk and thanks in advance

Hi! I’m looking for accommodations for next semester and someone suggested me The social hub. I was looking for prices on their website but there’s nothing because the subscription for next semester hasn’t opened yet.
Does anyone know the prices of the rooms?

Thanks you :)
