Rule Update: Our Stance on Business/Commercial Posts
Hey, r/SomethingIMade!
We've updated two rules to better protect what this community is for as a space for individual creators sharing their own work, including collaborations.
A steady increase in posts and comments from business and commercial accounts promoting products or shop pages has not gone unnoticed, often in cases where authorship can't be verified. We don't think it is fair that content that may be mass produced gains engagement over our more DIY creators. The updated rules address this directly.
Rule #5: Related Links & Self-Promotion
Posts or comments from businesses or commercial accounts primarily promoting products may be removed at moderator discretion, especially where authorship cannot be verified.
Rule #10: Original Content Only
Business and commercial accounts are not permitted to post in this subreddit. This is a community for individual creators only.
If you're an individual who makes and sells things, you're still very welcome here. This change is aimed at accounts whose primary purpose is commercial promotion rather than genuine participation as a creator. If you're unsure whether your account falls within the rules, reach out via Mod Mail.
Happy creating!

Updated Subreddit Reporting Guidelines
Hello folks!! It’s your mod team here with a request to you all regarding reporting of content.
Reporting of content is crucial to keeping the subreddit safe, and healthy. In addition, it also helps protect the many artists, and creators that post here. We appreciate you helping us by submitting reports when needed.
What we need from you.
Please make sure you’re reporting in good faith. Don’t report something simply because you don’t like it, or you find the particular subject matter offensive. Make sure that when you report something, it is actually in violation of one of our rules, or Reddit’s site wide rules.
Lastly, this is how you can REALLY help us, and the sub. If you suspect that a post contains stolen content, please send us a report using the new rule “Original Content Only”. Follow that up with a modmail to the sub with detailed information so that we can verify. OR, if you would rather remain anonymous in your report, feel free to use the ‘Custom Report’ and include any information you have to help us in the comment section of that report.
Thank you all, and feel free to ask questions in the comments.

Homemade Demogorgon Costumes 🎃
My daughter wanted to be a Demogorgon for Halloween this year so I spent the last couple weeks making these from scratch (and woke up at 6 a.m. to get a foggy photo by the pond!)

I made a little sunflower basket using pipe cleaners 🌻
I’ve been making pipe cleaner flowers and put together this little basket of sunflowers, white daisies, and greenery. I added a tiny bee as well because it seemed to fit the garden theme! 🐝

Made a cute cat out of seaglass I collected!
Had a delightful time collecting seaglass from seaham beach, and an even more delightful time making this tiny piece by arranging and sticking on some seaglass. It's my first go at seaglass craft and I can't wait to try and make more!

My dad loves Auburn and chess so I made him a custom chess board but next time going to do a white background 😍
This was done with epoxy. I did my first blue squares then when it cured I went in with the orange. After that, I did a layer of black which I plan to remake it with a white background. I want that orange to be that true Auburn orange. This was my first try, but he loved this one.

Made a dress for a LARP event!
Dress made and patterned by me! I saw these liquid satin dresses on Instagram and went "Hmm yes I'd like that but with the live action Cinderella neckline" so I made it haha.

I made a retro lingerie set🌷
Hello! My name is Lacy Lettie, I’m from Canada.
Designing and sewing lingerie is my passion.
I love 50-s esthetics and old-fashioned style.
Beige and white is one of my favorite combinations.
Here I’m showing the process of making a bra, a garter belt and matching panties.
For this set I used white scalloped lace and satiny stretchy microfiber.
Hope you’ll like it 🌷

Breath of the Wild
I made this multi layered picture box for my daughter because she loves Zelda and I love her. Reflection on the glass makes it a bit tough to see but you get the idea. Also, I did finish sand the wood filler on the corners. 😂
