This post will be the sole home for all “Wanting To Buy” (WTB) or “In Search Of” (ISO) requests.
If you’re on the hunt for a specific slipjoint, pattern, cover material, maker, or even a hard-to-find variation, this is the place to let the group know what you’re looking for. Drop a comment below with the details of what you’re trying to track down. The goal is to keep these requests centralized and give members a dedicated space to connect.
A lot of us have overlapping interests, extra pieces tucked away, or leads we’ve come across. This gives everyone a simple way to help one another out and keep great knives circulating within the group(s).
Example comments:
"ISO Great Eastern Cutlery 66 calf roper with unicorn covers."
"WTB Case 6347 with Red Jigged Bone"
"WTB some kind of barlow"
We'll see how this plays out, but I'm hoping to post a new thread every month to clean the slate and start fresh.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone’s chasing.

DISCLAIMER: any posts or comments offering knives for sale or trade in this thread will be removed. Please use r/Knife_Swap for all sales and trades. This thread is strictly for WTB / ISO requests.
As stated in other stickied posts, the moderators of r/SJK do NOT moderate or facilitate private sales or trades between users. However, we understand that sales and trades may still occur in private messages after someone posts a WTB / ISO request. Once conversations move to private chats, the only person who can truly moderate the transaction is you.
If you choose to pursue a transaction, do your due diligence. Ask for a timestamp you’re comfortable with, verify what you can, and always err on the side of caution. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Be willing to walk away from the deal if anything seems off.
We strongly encourage using r/Knife_Swap for transactions whenever possible. It is a much safer environment with established rules and an active moderation team that helps enforce them.

Hey everyone,
r/SJK is implementing a new automated system to help everyone easily identify account tenure and history within our subreddit. Moving forward, we are using user flairs to clearly distinguish between who is brand new to the community, who has been around a while, and who our true old timers are.
The Tiers are As Follows:
(These flair rankings are all based on total community karma: comment and post karma combined.)
If you have a custom mod-assigned flair, it should remain intact. If not, please let me know.
These are fairly arbitrary rankings at the moment, I'm certainly open to suggestions on this.
Feel free to discuss below.
The system is officially live. Drop a comment below to check your current standing and see where your automated flair registers!

Seriously. It’s a sodbuster. It’s a great example of a sodbuster. But in no realm of reality is this a $300, stop supporting that. Damaging to the industry.
Orange is MIA. But got lucky after an exhausting amount of refreshes. I think one or two dealers might still have theirs to list.
All the best.

If I had to choose between the yellow and the orange #71, which one should I choose? Seems like a small matter, but both have their merits.

I always hear stories of barn find hot rods, expensive thrift store treasures, etc… Last weekend I went to a small rural gun show that I haven’t been to in years. I asked a nice gentleman if he had any elephant toes and he pulled out a case from under the table then gave me a price I could not refuse. It pays to ask! Case 5 dot 6250 Elephant Toe and Case no dot 62131 Canoe. Both look like they have never been sharpened or used.

This is the Otter Anchor Knife in a limited edition, exclusive for the german knife shop Messerkontor. It is 1 of 7 small anchor knives in blue.
The handle is made of aluminum nets in blue epoxy resin. The anchor and bolsters are made of fat carbon with fibers of stainless steel. The blade is stonewashed C75 carbon steel.
I absolutely love it. Nicely made and stunning to look at.

I’m straying to get excited about Halloween. It’ll be the boys first time trick or treating. And my first time in decades🤣
Today I’ve got my beloved 87 beaver jigged bone and a new favorite this vintage emerald micarta 78. The 78 is working in nicely and is now pinchable. That’ll earn it even more pocket time.
Be well!

Sometimes it takes way too long to decide on what to drop in the pocket. Some days it is an easy choice.
