I'd like to have this post at the top of the subreddit to introduce people to Shaktism. Please feel free to leave feedback and i'll probably re-create the thread with all of the changes made, down the line.

Hello everyone. I was recently contacted to intervene in a dispute that reached our subreddit. I cannot speak to the validity of any party involved or the issues raised. However, I find that there is some value in some of the warning provided so while I will be likely removing the original post, I want to present a soft warning to individuals in general.
There are always individuals and groups that will seek to take advantage of people. Be it scams, religious indoctrination, trafficking efforts, or recruitment of other types.
Some of these efforts will begin with PM's/DM's. If you have not contacted someone, they are contacting you, be on your guard.
Be aware that not all individuals are supportive of non-traditional paths. Expressing support of, or belief in an individualized path to Devi may result in friction with individuals who support more traditional systems.
Be aware that anyone seeking community may become a target for those who seek power and control.
Women seekers are often targets for a number of efforts, Women should exercise increased caution.
If something feels off, pushy, or too good to be true – it usually is. Trust your intuition.

I wish to get Mantra Deeksha for Matangi Mahavidya.
I am searching for a Guru but I am afraid that I might end up getting deeksha from a Guru who is fraudulent.
Can I pray to Ganeshji by chanting simple stotras for guidance to find the right Guru?
Have anyone got any experience that they can share here whereby they got the right Guru after praying to Ganeshji?

Hi All! Really looking for guidance. Please please help me. I am a very hardworking and ambitious person. I put in a lot of effort in my career but in almost all my jobs, I never got the promotion I deserved, I end up getting bad bosses, and face a lot of trauma at my workplace. It has never been a smooth experience. I lost my job last year and after 10 months, finally found a job. Now I find from some online sources that the culture at the firm is very bad. I am honestly very scared that history will repeat again. I am getting panic attacks and want to curl up like a baby and not go to work (but I know I cant do that). I do not have the energy or the strength to go through all of that again. Whose naam jaap should I do? please do not suggest beej mantra or mantra saadhna or any astrological remedy. I am looking only for safe naam jaap that is very effective and brings me results in this area and resolves my career troubles and anxiety that comes with it.

Just fro pretext im a westerner trying to get into Shaktism i got quite a bit of books but they aren't 100 percent clear. For example in shakti is the bhagavad gita still valid? Or do we just refer the the devi getia? Also what does daily mourning puja look like the books i bought i think refer to the 9 days of navadurga. I dont even know any meditation techniques to connect to mother. Im so lost but i feel like this is the right direction.

I want to do Grihasthi Sadhana of maa Durga. I heard 32 names is a good starting point (or suggest me something else if that is more powerful but not Durga Shaptshati as it is very time taking and has too many rules I don’t want to break). I am going through a lot of issues (financial and obstacles in financial life) that I want Mother to solve by her Grace.
1) how many times to chant a day and is sanmalpa necessary?
2) Is a mala necessary or I can count by hand? If necessary, which one?
3) are pranava and samputa etc necessary if yes what to use for Durga 32 names?
4) Is naivediya necessary? I am praying my home, Goddess and we have never offered her naivaidya only incense and diya, so I don’t want to start a ritual that I cannot maybe keep up with.
5) what else can I do to get her grace very very fast as this is very urgent (any totka? ).
6) is chanting the name of Bhairav necessary for this. I heard somewhere it is. If yes, then what is the name and procedure?
7) As a new beginner please guide me through any Maa Durga Sadhna that I am missing but should do to get full anugraha of Maa.

So I will pray to two Gods? Can one God not give me both? I am asking because if I pray both then my efforts will be diluted (5 mala will now become 2.5 + 2.5) i hope I am able to explain myself.
Can we pray to two different gods for two different needs like Mahalakshmi Maata for prosperity and Durga Maata for security and protection? Or it will dilute our devotion I am inclined towards Mother Durga, but I also need prosperity badly. Please guide me.
Same as title

Why is Bhakti rituals or customs adjusted according to comfort?
True Shastra defines a vow as Tapa
an uncompromised discipline to burn impurities. Diluting rules for convenience defeats the essence of a ritual. If the body lacks capacity, focus on pure devotion instead. A vow is a commitment, not a negotiation.
