Hey everyone! We want to clarify what is an "off-topic" post and clarify explicitly what we will be removing going forward.
Please take a moment to review Rule 2 for our community:
Rule 2 - Keep it scrapbooking-related
All posts and comments must relate directly to scrapbooking, supplies, and techniques.
Do not critique the content or context, only critique the techniques used.
This applies to all aspects of a post, including comments, uploaded images, and the body text of the post itself.
The topic of our sub is scrapbooking: "Scrapbook layouts, albums, techniques, and supply finds. Post your spreads, ask questions, and get inspired! All styles and skill levels welcome."
Examples of what is on topic:
What is not on topic:
tl;dr - This subreddit is not a journal, blog, or medium to create a digital scrapbook - we are a place to share scrapbooks and related scrapbook questions.
Thank you for your understanding!
Peace & Love,
Mod team

In this scrapbook process video I'm documenting some adorable Halloween costume photos of my nephew dressed as a spider! I'm using the Boo to You collection from Bella Blvd. The main focal point is a “Too Cute to Spook” title that I backed with spider web Clear Cuts and filled with black and white sequins for a fun shaker-style effect.

I'm starting a new scrapbooking project and pulled together everything that fit the mood: vellum with watercolor washes, cherry blossom prints, lace doilies, pressed flower stickers, washi tapes and a sheet of pink rhinestones.
I haven't planned the layout yet, so I'm curious: which piece would you put at the center? Any combinations you'd try?
I'll post the finished page once it's done!

In this process video I create a double-page scrapbook layout featuring the Simple Stories Game Night collection to document playing the game 7 Speak Out. Between the ridiculous smiles from the mouthpieces and trying to figure out what our teammates were saying, we laughed until our faces hurt.

I'm completely new to scrapbooking but I'm so excited to start making a scrapbook for my (almost 5 months old now) daughter so she can look at it and read it when she's older. I bought a 12x12 scrapbook, and I'd love to include a ton of photos but I'd also like to include lots of writing about the memories behind the photos, not just short captions. (For example I'd like to write down everything i can remember about labor and delivery).
I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this without overcrowding the pages. Here are a few ideas I've considered:
• Writing on the back of each scrapbook page, so the front can be dedicated to photos/stickers/decorations.
• Attaching an envelope to the back of the page and putting handwritten letters or longer stories inside.
The downside to both options is that she'd have to take the pages out of the album to read the writing or open the envelope.
Another option would be to glue an envelope to the front of each page but I feel like that would take away from the asthetic.
For those of you who include lots of writing/stories in your scrapbooks, how do you handle this? Do you write on the backs of pages, use envelopes or pockets, or have another solution you prefer?
I'd love to hear what has worked well for you!

So I placed an order for photos the other day. I'm doing 2 different projects. One is just a photo album...but I am also going to be doing a few scrap pages, hopefully for the holidays...
Snapfish auto-applied the discount code (maybe b/c I had not ordered in so long??). And I figured for 628 photos... this makes the photos about 10 cents each.
Doing a pickup locally was going to be about 23 cents/photo. So it cost about 40% less to do a shipment. I'm not in a rush. They are going to take a little over a week to arrive. I'll let you know how it goes!

I want to put something together to pass down to my kids. Would the photos and pages become stuck to eachother long term, say 20 - 30 yrs from now? Would getting a photo album that you can insert scrapbook pages in be a better idea?

I would have tried to make these match and probably made them worse. The old yellow case is part of the look now too. Which insert would you keep in for a week?

Hi! I've been intending to start scrapbooking but haven't taken the plunge. I have a tendency to want to complicate things and over-research so that they are "perfect" and then don't end up doing them. BUT I really do want to do at least an annual scrapbook, especially since we had our first baby last year and I'd love to document our family moving forward.
I'd love help on recommendations for what kind of books to look for, fun papers, stickers, markers, sources, etc and any general guidance so I can just take the plunge and actually do it. I'm based in Toronto but can also access US sources easily.
Thank you so much!
