Hey guys I am really considering to buy an old s22 ultra. My budget is not much to buy something new and I also have never used these flagship phones. Please suggest me if it is worth buying or I should just buy a new phone in this price range .

I've noticed a significant decline in battery performance on my S22 Ultra after the November and December updates. Before, I used to get around 12-13% battery consumption per hour of screen-on time, but now it's hitting 15-16%.
It feels like Samsung is either:
Pushing us to upgrade by making older devices perform worse.
Creating artificial hype for One UI 7 by degrading performance now, only to “magically” improve it later.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Could this be intentional throttling? Let’s discuss.

So who has their S22 Ultra and is enjoying it in 2024? I have the S21 Ultra and kind of missing a phone with the Note feel. I dont want the S24U or need the latest and greatest.
I feel the S22U would probably be cheaper in most scenarios. Is the battery life really that bad?

Guys, I believe that many of you have heard about the possible reason for the green lines appearing on the device, which is the result of Nits spikes on the screen after turning on the cell phone or during an update, causing the screen flat to become damaged.
Two of the possibilities for this to be caused are when the device is turned on, where the Samsung logo emits maximum brightness! But also in the update, where the One UI logo does the same (I believe you have already noticed this, and it was not possible to adjust).
This November update removed the exaggerated brightness in the Samsung logo when starting, and in the One UI logo when updating.
This greatly reduces this serious problem with the voltage peak in the cable (obviously, it is not the only villain, but it is the biggest cause of these problems).
Could anyone who did the update confirm this change? Has the brightness of the logo reduced?
I'm from Brazil, and unfortunately the update hasn't arrived yet... that will be the only reason to update and release the July patch.

Well, add my S22 Ultra to the pile. 4.5 years in without a single hitch, and just last night, it froze mid-use, the screen died, and now it boot loops. No heat before it went, and no low battery warning. It just froze and quit.
What’s funny (not really) is it will boot every time right after about an hour in the freezer, then starts looping again once it warms up, roughly 10 minutes in. So, I’m guessing it’s a heat-sensitive board issue, which sounds like what a lot of you have been posting about. Plugging it into 45W chargers does nothing useful, and a power meter shows it pulling under 1W when it used to jump to 22W+.
The timing couldn't be this perfect, because everything is stacked against me right now:
I need UWB for my electric vehicle digital key, so that narrows it down. I’ve been looking at the S26+ and S26 Ultra at 512GB, and I’ve even peeked at the Z Fold 8 just to get away from the slab look, but the extra money for a fold is hard to justify, even if I could afford it. I also keep hearing mixed things about the S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display and red tint.
So, for anyone who has been through this recently:
Also, if anyone has successfully revived a heat-triggered S22 boot loop for more than 10 min, I’m all ears. I'm not concerned at all for my data, last full backup was completed just last month, and I don't care for messages or call logs, even with 10 min, I can still access my 2FA keys and passkeys to replicate elsewhere but I’d love a better plan.

Personally, I'm going to make the jump. The Bluetooth s-pen features will be slightly missed from me. However, I didn't use them enough to create an uproar like a lot of other fans. I can't stand the micro lags that this device goes through when you're just traversing the OS. That and the battery life is pretty subpar (without using any Power Saving Mode features). I also think this may be the last year that the s22 series gets a $600 trade-in value, too.

For context, I got an S22 Ultra maybe last week. It was my mother's, and she used it only for maybe a month before switching to an iPhone, so it's practically brand new and has been factory reset. The reason I ask is because when I updated my A24 it rendered my touch screen completely useless and I'd have to take the phone in to fix it since I'm locked out due to being unable to use the touch screen. I've also read many issues regarding the S22 Ultra and One UI 8.0. Would it be safer to stick to One UI 7.0 or is One UI 8.0 better? As I said the phone itself is practically brand new and I haven't had any odd issues with it yet such as battery or whatever. If it helps the specific one I have was manufactured in 2021.

Hello. My S22 Ultra is running smooth. I'm thinking to upgrade to S26 ultra just only because on daily basis someone say here that there device is dead now. And I can't afford to loose my device or Data all of a sudden.
Is upgrading to S26 Ultra worth it ? Or i should look for S25 Ultra as well ?
Those who upgraded tell me your experience plz.
Edit: I also want to upgrade due to better battery life. My S22 ultra gives me 4 hours of SOT, power saving mode always on, means phone runs on 60Hz and no AOD.

Not really sure what happened, when going to sleep phone was fine, woke up in the morning with a dead phone. It did turn on after a few tries but was stuck in boot loop. Did all the tricks with cleaning cash and try to factory reset it but no luck. It will not go pas the Samsung logo. Took it to Samsung Experience Center and they could not do anything; they did try to flash it but said doesn't work. Ultimately they said its motherboard. To me it feels like they pushed an update and something went wrong, maybe even it did actually damage the hardware somehow. Any one else had the same issue? This happened on Dec 12.

Planning to buy a used Samsung S22 Ultra 12/256 Indian variant for ₹33.5k in May 2026.
Need honest opinions from long term users before I buy.
Main concerns:
• Battery life in 2026
• Heating issues
• Green line/display problems
• Camera reliability
• Long term durability
• Common hidden issues in used/refurbished units
I previously got scammed with a refurbished S24 Ultra that got water damaged within 2 months, so this time I’m being extremely careful.
For people still using the S22 Ultra in 2026:
Would you still recommend buying it now at this price?
And what EXACT things should I check before purchasing?
Also is the Snapdragon Indian version still holding up well today?
Would appreciate brutally honest feedback..

With the launch of the S26U, is it worth to upgrade from S22U?
I have checked the specs, and not a lot have changed since the S22U given than Samsung seems to focus mainly on AI.
Only hiccup with my phone is battery life, else I'm still happy with it.
What are your views for an upgrade from S22U to S26U?

For weeks now the phone is barely usable due to frequent app crashes, ui crashes, processing system crashes, force restarts, black screens, and 5 minute long freezes.
Tried doing various fixes recommended but nothing worked, im assuming the motherboard has just tanked. Im wondering if the fix at a shop is worth it, or if I should move onto a new phone?
I know many other people are having similar issues, and Im not seeing any fixes being provided by Samsung so we are left to figure it out in our own.

Does anyone else's s22 ultras battery drain faster than it should even with all settings adjusted to stop drain? I feel like it uses way more percentage then it should, and my battery diagnostics are fine.

I am getting my back-case off S22U and it feels like a new phone 🤣 much better this way (naked). I may get rid of front screen protection too 🤔 mostly i see how screen is big and goes to its edges which is cool... ☺️ anyone else rocking s22u naked? ☺️

I call them unicorns because I was lucky enough myself to have an S22 U that didn't have any issues. Never broke when I dropped it, never got any sort of weird effects from updates, never has screen issues. Seems like a lot of people did and wanted to know how common it was. I just traded mine in for the new 26 Ultra and miss the curved screen so much.
