Whether you are left leaning or right leaning the idea of individuals being able to bring large sums of ballots to the polling stations the day of an election that they promise they ‘only collected from registered voters’ ought to scare you shitless if you at all care about the integrity of election results.

That's illegal and people went to jail for exactly this in 2018. Of course, all the people that were doing it were republican.

It's actually not illegal.

What was illegal was that the Republican in question took unsealed ballots, altered then, then sealed them and turned them in while registering votes for people.

Collecting ballots from people in person is not illegal.

Ballot harvesting isn't illegal everywhere, actually. Strictly state by state. If I'm reading these comments correctly, the incident in question was in California, where it is indeed legal.

So what you are saying is: This has happened before, it is not without precedent, and it should be alarming.

I don't know why words are bold, but no. The level required to actually change the outcome needs to be widespread and detection is really easy. It has to happen on a local level, so it can be detected at the local level. It's basically impossible as a national conspiracy.

How do they think mail-in ballots would work? What do they think stops ballot-stuffing at a polling place?

Do they expect some guy to open up a million ballots, pick out which ones he doesn't like, throw them out, seal back up the rest, carry them into a post-office, dress up like a mail carrier, then slip them into the bundles.

The mail part is the most secure part of the whole mail-in voting process. It's also the one most punishable by state and federal law for interfering with.

The 2020 election hasn't happened yet.

If you believe that the 2000 election was stolen by the GOP, then you inherently believe that it's possible for political parties to conspire to steal an election.

This subreddit has always featured current as well as past panics. It was founded in 2012 when r/politics and the rest were convinced the NDAA would allow indefinite detention of US citizens.

Such as actually letting people vote for people who represent themselves?

The projection is blinding AF.

In a democracy there is no such thing as an election that is stolen. Except we are talking about America which is a democracy in name only.
