MH Wilds When you do more sightseeing than fighting monsters...
Some more of my favorite screenshots.
Post is semi-inspired by "did they improve the graphics and colors for the Ascendance trailer?" topics ;)
The (volumetric) lighting can hit so well and I love how the maps are packed with details.

I do have a proper camera but only as a hobby for traveling, definitely not professionally :)

It's the Rathalos/Rathian nest on top of the large "tree", at the edge facing East.

You really captured the beauty of these maps :> I feel in the minority in loving them especially Wyveria.
It makes me a bit sad, I see the time and effort the devs put into them but on this sub especially all I see is sentiment on how ugly and washed-out it is. And actually I think the criticisms are pretty valid. I think they could have presented the maps a bit better and with the Seikret there is no incentive to slow down and really look at your environment.

Reddit will lower the resolution of gallery posts as usual (though TBF, I only saved them as JPGs+transfered via the PS App, so there is already some compression, have to test out the png option+USB-transfer some day...).
All shots are PS5pro and Balance Mode btw.
Ingame settings slightly tweaked (brightness/black level down and saturation up).

For looking around, Balanced mode on the Pro is surprisingly good. Though nowadays I do use performance for actual hunting.

Performance mode on PS5pro got the biggest benefit from the new PSSR2 version, it basically looks as sharp as the other modes but at higher FPS.
But I still prefer the 40 fps balance mode because I notice some pop-ins in the Performance mode, plus the better RT reflections of course.

My biggest problem with Performance mode are the shadows on the hunter character model though. Hair and any shadows of armor hitting skin looks really bad still.

I was actually fighting it. Gog is just offscreen haha
(with support hunters, not during mp of course)
I may or may not have gotten squished shortly after this.

Have you seen the campsite that near the cliff that shows the entire region showing how it all connects

Yup, you can see it in image #11 with the sunset. It's so cool that you can see the landmarks of those 3 maps from that campsite.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Monster Hunter Wilds is the best game to wander around in while on mushrooms.

Tbf the world of monster hunter is fucking gorgeous. Its a shame a lot of it doesn't really get taken in aside from "background to smack monsters into"

I love slowly taking in the maps as I’m out doing gathering runs, and these photos captured that feeling magnificently! Incredible work!

This is why it takes me so long, to beat games. I spend more time exploring, gathering than I do actually playing the game itself. And by the time I do actually play the game, lol I usually have more than what I need. Which in itself, is a great trade off.

It's cool that MH Wilds can be as gorgeous as this. I just can't appreciate the looks on my end, as I'm playing it on a low-mid end PC.
Just started MH World though, and I'm absolutely loving it. It's weird because I prefer it over MH Wilds, not just how it looks on my end, but just how the map is structured and how we hunt the monsters.
Hopefully I can upgrage my PC in the future, so that I can appreciate Wilds more. :)

God I wish the Seikret wasn't given to us in the beginning but we were given an egg that we hatch and raise alongside the story until the endgame time skip where it fully grows up unlocking faster travel.

For sure there are some decent looking moments but on my Series X it looks so washed out and blurry most of the time

If only the story skips the OOH THE SCENERY IS SO BREATHTAKING parts, it just comes of as patting themselves on the back. Jorking it a bit much

I know what they want to accomplish with that but it just kills the pace of the story. I really hope they learned from the basegame and dont have those sections in ascendance.

Those are some really beautiful screenshots for sure! As much as I dislike the gameplay aspects of the new maps I can't deny that they are beautiful.
I wish the game would run properly on my machine, maybe I would have liked it a bit more that way.
