Discussion Omatase
I know it’s been a couple of years but still it was a bit strange seeing Master with white hair 😅 The Covid years was a strange time for a lot of people 😓

Hi folks, I am on Ep5 of "Did Someone Happen to Mention Me" on Netflix and guess who happens to be working at a random bar in Kyoto? Chu-San!
Seeing him in no hat for the first time I wasn't 100% sure until Google confirmed. Anyway, if you're a random fan of the character, maybe I can introduce you to a new series that I'm enjoying. That's all for now!

I was thinking if there was a way to contact all Midnight Diner fans out there, and send Netflix a petition saying we want Season 1- 3 back?

Omg! I was so happy to see this is back on Netflix. The Covid episode is so heart wrenching but man still full of laughter and humble food!! Marylin comment on having to keep mask on while she can take her panties off had me gagging! So funnnnny!! Am so happy to see them back. They all grown so grey but still full of beautiful colors! Love this show with my whole heart

Just saw the 1st episode of season 6. Am I the only one who got a little teary eyed at the end?
Why are the characters of this show so close to my heart, why does Master saying I got back into business made me more happy than me getting my own actual degree?
I love that the vibe remained as it is and production have acknowledged it with the statement about the new rate chart. But my only complaint is, give me the 720p version, a little grainy video. Not the 4K super clear image, it kills the vibe for me. But that's just me.
So happy that it's back.
(P. S: Netflix India has the show streaming as well with new episodes every Wednesday)

The Japanese TV show you are thinking of is Wakakozake (ワカコ酒).
The series follows Murasaki Wakako, a 26-year-old office worker who loves exploring different bars and restaurants by herself after work. The signature phrase she lets out in a satisfied sigh every time she tastes a perfect food-and-drink pairing is actually "Pshuuu" (プシュー), which sounds very close to "pursue" when spoken.
Wakakozake

I just started it :)
(Netflix Austria, it is classified as the first episode of the third season of midnight diner: Tokyo stories)
Edit: it is categorized as season 6 of Midnight Diner, I saw it wrong 😅 (the poster is for Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories)

I so missed this show. 7 years since S5, I'm so glad that we got a new season! Watched the entire episode with a smile in my face!

I thought I’d start a thread of the latest episode to help people who don’t want to be spoiled. Have you seen it yet? Thoughts??

S6 has just dropped on Netflix, what's everyone doing - watching weekly or saving them up and binging over christmas?

Just spoke to Netflix Australia and they don’t have plans to bring back Seasons 1-3 😭
They said however if they get enough requests they will renew the license and bring it back.
Please please take a few minutes to contact them via the chat box or ‘submit a request’ page. Let’s bombard them! 💪🙏🏻🙏🏻

Apparently in Tokyo right now, there’s a Midnight Diner pop up exhibit right now. This person had shared what looks like a trailer of the new season!

Looking for a unique cultural experience in Osaka, beyond the usual tourist spots? Imagine sitting in a cozy little café inside a historic Buddhist temple, enjoying freshly brewed coffee and sweets, while beautiful live music fills the room and colorful artwork comes to life before your eyes. Welcome to KOGUMA COFFEE, a charming café nestled within Shinkoji Temple in Osaka’s historic Shitaderamachi temple district. This special evening brings together Japanese singer-songwriter SUEMARR and digital live painting artist Chiemi Matsui. 🎵 Fans of the Japanese drama Midnight Diner (Shinya Shokudo) may recognize SUEMARR’s music! With his soulful voice, guitar, and banjo, SUEMARR creates a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. As he performs, Chiemi Matsui paints live on her iPad, projecting evolving images that respond to the music. No two performances are ever the same. Music becomes color, and sound becomes art. ❤️ A Story of Music, Art & Friendship This evening is especially meaningful to me. I’ve been performing with SUEMARR since 2016, and I’ve also created artwork for one of his past music releases. KOGUMA COFFEE is owned by Japanese singer-songwriter Tadashi Hirosawa, and I held an art exhibition here last year. The café is also home to speakers by harmonica musician Natsuki Kurai, another dear musical friend I’ve collaborated with over the years. Somehow, all these friendships, memories, music, and art have come together in this little temple café. Just like cream swirling into coffee, everything is blending into something wonderful! ☕✨ Whether you’re a music lover, an art enthusiast, a Midnight Diner fan, or simply a traveler looking for an authentic and intimate experience in Osaka, we’d love to welcome you. Spend the afternoon exploring Osaka’s historic temple district, then join us for an unforgettable evening of music, art, coffee, and connection. "When people finish their day and hurry home, my day starts."
"My diner is open from midnight to seven in the morning."
"They call it 'Midnight Diner'."
(chalkboard menu listing pork miso soup [tonjiru], sake, beer, and shōchū)
"That's all I have on my menu."
"But I make whatever customers request as long as I have the ingredients for it."
"That's my policy."
"Do I even have customers? More than you would expect."
