I’m struggling to get more hours, and struggling with getting up to GO to work (but that‘s because of my poor mental health and the fact I sleep like shit/insomnia), so I’m not seeing the point of staying. My coworkers are really nice and knowledgable, and I have a decent grasp on how to do things, but with what little pay I’m getting, I feel like it’s a massive waste of time. I have no money right now, and two to three 4-5 hour shifts a week isn’t cutting it.
They also didn’t listen to my original availability and have me closing some days (which I said I was unable to do) I’m not even a month into working here and I already want to call out :/ They also keep scheduling me before the guy that’s been helping me, so I’m alone for an hour or more (for my shift today, 2), which stresses me out because idk what the customers ask for at times (I’m hardware/tools). I can’t even get the training videos done because of this, I’m behind on those as well. What’s with this sink or swim business? I feel like an idiot when I can’t help someone and am hardly functioning as a human being to begin with (especially having to be up earlier in the morning) so it’s more unwanted stress.
I’m planning on updating my availability, but even then, the amount of days I’m given sucks. They even took a day from me this week, so I only get two. These sudden last minute changes have been happening too much for my liking. I feel just as miserable about going as I did with my old job, which was worse! I don’t want to leave necessarily, but I may have to given the circumstances.
(Pardon any errors/rambling, it’s 2 AM here, I can’t sleep, and I have work in 5 hours)

I started at Lowe’s back in May of this year, and I’ve only ever worked front end as a cashier. No problems no complaints. I recently noticed however that I have two fulfillment shifts coming up, which I’ve never worked in fulfillment. I’ve never worked in any other department in the store because I’m not very strong, so I know the positions wouldn’t fit me. I texted my HR person to see if I was being moved there, she said not permanently she didn’t think they were just trying to cross train some cashiers.
And I’m stressed to say the least, I’m not crazy weak by any means but I’m almost not the strongest person out there.
So what is fulfillment like? Is it difficult?

I just started and the more I think about the stupid app the more I’m frustrated. It gives us bays we’re supposed to work, but they’re spread out everywhere.
My boss expects me to service 19 bays a day and spend no more than 20 minutes in a bay.
It just feels like a waste of time to do 6 bays and then more to another aisle and do a few more.
It feels more efficient to just get your ladder and stay in an area. It’s sometimes freaking hard to get a ladder because everyone on the team basically needs one. I like to Service every bay in it the aisle. Then you don’t waste time walking from place to place.
Today They told us to service in a department first thing in the morning. There wasn’t a red vest in that department until later in the day. We spent so much time answering questions or trying to get someone to answer a question. It’s ridiculous. We’re judged by our metrics but so much of the factors we can’t control. Should I be doing 10 minute bays knowing I’m going to be mobbed with questions like from 12 on?
I can hardly get any bays done in the afternoon because everywhere I work customer’s ask me questions.
Also a coworker told me I’m not supposed to service a bay that someone did the day before. Is that a thing? My boss lets me check in daily in bays I worked the day before because most of the time the mess is so big you can’t sort it out in 20 minutes. There was stuff to down-stock so I did. That’s what I told her. It feels like she could basically mind her own business anyways.

I’ve worked at Lowe’s as a cashier for a little over a month now. My girlfriend and I attend college and she’s very busy so we don’t get to see each other much. She has to drive 5 hours each weekend for a group that she’s in so we only really see each other in passing through the week. We just recently as in this week found out that this weekend, Halloween weekend, she has off and gets to stay home. I’m supposed to work 3-close on Saturday and 1-8 Sunday. What would happen if I called out this weekend just to spend some time with her? I’m the only one closing on mainline Saturday so that may cause some issues. I haven’t called out yet but I haven’t been here very long and I obviously don’t have any sick or vacation time yet. This would be the only weekend or full days we get to spend with each other until Summer comes around. Would it be stupid to call out this weekend or am I gonna get in trouble?

We recently got a new pro phone that was previously in another dept. We want to reassign the dept number, but cannot find how. Called IT and they haven’t been any help.
If you guys have any idea of who to call and or how to reassign the phone, any advice is welcome

I’m a garden cashier. At first I’d get 12 hours a week and it was not enough. There were tons of cashiers at my store and I wanna say 50% of them have quiet. So now I’m getting 27-35 hours a week. It’s not awful but as a college student it’s a little too much for me. Especially when most of it is mainline. I know every single cashier by name in garden lumber and mainline. OMG I fing hate mainline, like I get they only have like 4 mainline cashiers but I don’t wanna be there! 1:30-10 shit almost killed me I rlly try not to complain, but u stand in a small area all day, can’t fucking walk off, gotta chase someone down to try to use the bathroom, these old ppl mean as hell, and feet are aching! Literarily had to change my availability to 7am-8pm just so I can’t get put to mainline but it has ent been approved and I submitted it 3-4 weeks ago. Considering calling out but other than mainline. I rlly don’t mind working at Lowe’s. I love being in garden, especially now that the weather is cooling off. I even get homework done because it’s usually slow. So def don’t wanna be let go. Freak mainline lol

I was hired to work OSLG but rarely get scheduled to work there and the only time I work OSLG I end up double closing for Inside Garden too. I talked to my manager and all he said was that I was "making a difference"

Someone overheard my DS saying they want to fire me over leaving early. Yes, I’m on a final. Yes, it’s my own fault for putting myself in this position because now I truly can’t afford it. The last 3 months for me have been a medical disaster leading up to a shitty diagnosis that is not only taking a mental toll but a physical toll treatment wise. I’m in the process of getting FMLA taken care of. I’m 14 days away from getting off my final.
My DS and I don’t get along, so I have not shared my personal life with her. My ASM and I do get along, and he’s aware and sympathetic for my situation. He has even offered to overlook my final to promote me to a DS, so I highly highly doubt he will want to term me over this.
Can my DS write me up without my ASM’s knowledge? I know he’d protect me, but if it’s truly up to her, I fear I’m screwed.

I’ll preface this by saying I was going to purchase the induction range regardless. However I was excited to see that Lowes was very clearly offering a free cookware set with this purchase.
Here is the range, if you scroll through the pictures at the end is the info about the cookware set.
I purchased the range then went about checking the Samsung site for how to claim the offer. I followed the steps to register and got to the end to see that the cookware was not offered.
So I checked their T’s & C’s and saw that the model IS eligible but that they have explicitly stated this is not an eligible promotion for Lowes purchases. 🙄
I’m not worried at this point about getting g the cookware. HOWEVER I would like to know who to speak to in order to get this info removed completely from their induction range listings on their site.
It’s on all their Samsung listings, and it’s very misleading. And it may cause someone to decide to purchase when they weren’t necessarily intending on choosing that brand.
Any ideas on who specifically to talk to about this? Thanks!

So, I’m getting transferred to a different store to work full-time in “Pro Fulfillment.” Does anyone who has this position at their store know what the hours are like? Like days and stuff included?
I applied to this store as a Receiver/Stocker, but the ASM who interviewed me said the position was actually Pro Fulfillment. I’ve done fulfillment before, and it’s what I’m doing now. However, I’ve never seen or heard of Pro Fulfillment before since it’s new to our district.
Apparently, the ASM hasn’t heard much about it either because when I asked what the hours would be like, he said, “I have no idea, man.”

So yesterday I went to go pickup a guitar amp that someone was selling on FB Marketplace. They said they were busy doing stuff at the house, and if I came to their home shop, they would knock 20% off the sale.
Well, I get there and I see a truck in the driveway that looks oddly familiar. Turns out, it was some kid that used to work at Lowe's a few years ago that just walked out and never came back. Apparently, after quitting Lowe's, he got a great job that allowed him to make investments, get married, buy house and then buy the house we were at he uses as a workshop to make guitars.
He wanted to show me around (my guess is to rub it in my face many of us are still stuck at Lowe's) as he felt proud of what he accomplished and I was only the second person from Lowe's he interacted with this year. When looking at one of his work benches in the garage, something caught my eye. I guess sometimes you never 100% leave Lowes.

I recently got hired as an overnight DS. My store has been completely ridiculous in terms of communication. I had an interview, got an automated email the next day stating I received the position. Signed my papers. Didn’t get notification about the drug test until 4 days after I signed the papers, tried to take the drug test at an outside facility because NO ONE communicated that it was at the store. Couldn’t do it. Finally got an email the next day stating it’s in store and I had to do it within 48 hours or my offer would be null in void. Fine. I got it done. They tried getting me in for orientation 2 days after that, I told them no because I needed to still out in my 2 week notice at my current job I had. We scheduled my orientation for 2 weeks out. I just had my orientation last week and was told I would get either an email or a call when my first day of training would be. Apparently in the system it was supposed to be 2 days ago and no one told me? I called yesterday and spoke to my direct supervisor, he said I shouldn’t have been scheduled yet and that he will get in touch with the scheduler and I’ll get a call today for my first day schedule. Didn’t get a call. I just looked in the system and apparently I’m scheduled tomorrow night? Now I can’t do it because i picked up temp shifts somewhere else to be able to pay my bills because of this nonsense.
What is this place. This is ridiculous.

So as of recently I got on the board for LPP, whatever the hell that is? But then they put a sticker saying “good with customers” next to my picture. Then my HC comes up to me today during my shift saying I got a 0% for friendliness and saying thank you or helping customers, which baffled me. I literally say Hi, Hello, how are you, and always say thank you or have a nice day. Wtf??? This company pisses me off, not to mention the push for credit apps again. Any thoughts? Also, have been here for about 6months

Hey,
I'm a full-time employee. Several other full-time employees and I are not scheduled this week or next, but we've been told to come in and clock in for our normal shifts anyway. Does anyone know why this is? Why wouldn't they just schedule us if they want us to clock in?
