💬 Discussion Why are people not collectively losing their shit about the Epstein files ???

6.7k Upvotes

Overnight the entire neoliberal world order and its connoisseurs are outed to be rapists, pedophiles and murderers of the most depraved kind and, nothing?

The depth of the depravity and eerie similarities to all those elite conspiracy theories is genuinely absurd. I wont give examples but everyone already knows the most vile shit and evidences for conspiracy coming out of these files, including Trump, Israel and all the billionaires, if any of these instances or proof of them came out individually, they would each be completely paradigm and status quo shattering, names synonymous to the modern world being proved to have partaken in such acts of pure insanity and madness AND NO ONE GIVES A SHIT? I STILL CANNOT PROCESS THE LEVELS OF DEPRAVITY I'VE BEEN EXPOSED TO FROM THESE SCRUBBED FILES???

WARS AND COUNTRIES HAVE STARTED AND COLLAPSED FOR LESS? WHERE ARE ALL THE PEOPLE RIOTING IN THE STREETS, WHY IS NO ONE EXCEPT LIKE IDK TWITTER NOT MAKING A SINGLE PEEP?

and lastly,

why?

Why did the DOJ simply decide to incriminate the entire US government and the spearheads of the financial system just like that?

"oh they were just following the law"

bullshit. Since when does the US government care about the sanctity of the law?

Is this a psyop because im genuinely confused as to what their plan is?

I always assumed they would never publish the files because of backlask, but what they did release is light years worse and people just don't care... ?

please I need some perspective on this I can't sleep

💬 Discussion Guys what the actual FUCK is happening?

12.9k Upvotes

I am losing my fucking mind right now. Are we really this cooked? Why are literal fucking Nazis becoming a protected class in AMERICA, a country that helped KILL them.

  • Elon sieg heils at inauguration.

  • Multiple Nazi rallies protected by cops.

  • Kanye legally selling swastika merch through Yeezy.

  • Elon backs the AfD, a literal neo-nazi organization.

  • Trump says to 'prioritize' South American and European immigrants (whites).

  • DOGE re-hiring a self-proclaimed racist and white supremicist.

  • Literally banning books (churches burning some).

  • Kanye fulling coming out as a true, literal Nazi.

  • The biggest social media site strictly promotes hate-speech and Nazi propaganda.

  • Meta, Amazon, Twitter, Reddit all bowing down to an authoritarian regime in exchange for special treatment.

How are we normalizing this!? How, over the course of 8 years, did we go from "the Nazi party was a ruthless, horrible regime and should be exterminated" to "actually let's hear them out"!!??

I am losing my MIND. Why are we okay with this!? How have we fostered a society that allows these couch-fucking troglodytes to feel safe enough to show their bastard asses? How did we embolden them so thoroughly?????

I just realized today one of my co-workers has a fucking swastika tattooed on his finger. I need to find a way to report him but my company doesn't have HR or anything like that. How are you allowed to have a job at a place that employees all walks of life when you openly state you despise half of them?

WHAT ARE WE DOING!?

💬 Discussion Capitalism is a friendship ruiner.

10.3k Upvotes

As I get older, I’m realizing I’m losing some of my oldest friendships because of capitalism. My college friend group has slowly split into two groups over the past 15 years: the super rich corporate capitalists making over $400,000/year or the low wage artists and service professionals, who will probably never see six figures. Whether it be a friend who works for a law firm and represents mega-corps... Or an investment banker friend, with literal millions in the bank, who Venmo requests even our brokest friends for a $8 latte, the capitalists have become insufferable. Another is working for one of the biggest water polluters in the world, yet apparently cares about climate change. They all embody “socially democrat, fiscally conservative” politics which just says you’re a hypocrite.

I’ve watched the desire to hoard wealth turn these once generous and considerate people into greedy, vapid shells of themselves. They’ve all compromised their values in egregious ways and justified it in the pursuit of “making a living.” I reached a breaking point this week when one of them had the audacity to make fun of a lower ranking “poor” coworker who made “only $250,000” a year, when they know my ass barely hits $60k. Knowing how much they value your worth by the size of your bank account, I can’t even imagine what they say about me behind my back.

Anyway, I just needed to rant about how much it sucks to lose friends because they’re obsessed with money. And if anyone else is going through something similar, you’re not alone.

EDIT— whoa thank you for those who gave awards to my late night rant. A little more info: - we are all in our mid 30s - the person who charged us for coffees bought us them without us asking, so it was like they charged for a gift no one asked for. They also come from family money (extra annoying). And they sent the Venmo request two days after bringing us the coffees, making it even more petty - I know that high wage workers are still workers and necessary for solidarity against the capital class. Unfortunately some of them have become landlords (they all own their primary residences and some have “investment” properties they rent 🤢) and have shown the clear drive to become part of the ruling capital class. They’re all on track to become c-suite/partners - I’m no longer close with most of them, and thankfully do have plans to move away from my HCOL city, but I’m in school and it’s expensive to move apartments

💬 Discussion this shutdown isn’t going to end. ever.

3.5k Upvotes

i haven’t seen anyone else say this yet, so forgive me if i’m being repetitive, but i really don’t think the government shutdown is going to end.

the moment the house is back there’s going to be a forced vote on the epstein files. there’s probs vids of trump fucking kids. there’s no way they’re ever letting that out.

if they keep the government shutdown forever, they can essentially nullify any election.

we’ve already seen trump funding things through this shutdown.

idk, what do y’all think?

This literally only 2 bags of groceries. I don’t care if it’s NYC; it still feels like I’m being robbed just to eat.
