Discussion Glasses Mira (Fashion choice or legit vision impairment?)
We see Mira is her glasses at 2 different points.
Going out to the doctor with Rumi/ Sodapop performance
Takedown demon hunting scene
Now it's possible since both of these are situations that Mira would want to be incognito they could just be none prescription lenses to try and blend in with normal citizens but it could also be that they are prescriptions and she just wares contact lenses for shows and just goes all natural in the huntrix penthouse to be more comfortable.
What do you think?
I like to think she does have vision problems just because it adds slightly to the "being different and that's o.k" vibes the KPDH movie and characters stand by

Discussion Vince admitted to using ChatGPT in writing Soda Pop. TBH I am very disappointed.
Expecting now that even the other songs written by EJAE, Lindgren, Jenna, Stephen wrote will get accused being written with AI.
The AI accusation will now be even worse than before. Don’t like that the other songwriters and composers who poured their emotions and feelings into writing the songs (like EJAE) then to have the others proudly admit they used AI. Expected more from him since he was part of The Black Label.

Discussion Can we talk about how Jinu literally used Rumi's most vulnerable confession against her?
I am sure most people caught this while watching the movie. But just imagine finally opening up about your deepest shame and then hearing those exact words coming from your closest friends. Only to find out later that it was all a setup orchestrated by the one person you confided in and literally used your most vulnerable moment against you. No wonder it broke her.
I mean, Jinu was really cold-blooded here. As if exposing her patterns on stage wasn't enough. Poor Rumi.

I can only accept the live action if they add the Aquarium Date scene that was cut and have amazing perfect fitting casting.

Discussion What are some things you really DON’T want to see in a sequel?
For me personally, it’s the following:
The new antagonists are just the Saja Boys all over again. By that, I don’t mean the Saja Boys come back and are the villains again. I mean they introduce they introduce new antagonists that are basically just carbon copies or recycled versions of the Saja Boys. I’m not really a fan when a series introduces a new antagonist that’s basically the discount versions of the old ones.
Bobby being replaced with a new manager, who’s an asshole and overworks the girls. First of all, Bobby is an angel and him being replaced is a war crime. Second of all, it just sounds so cliche and boring. “The mean spirited manager or boss who takes advantage of his employees who he doesn’t care about” has been done so many times before. Part of the reasons why Bobby worked, in my opinion, was that he broke the mold. He was a paternal figure to Huntrix and saw them as his daughters.
Rumi’s dad is the main villain of the sequel. This would completely ruin the point of the first movie. Not all demons are evil or are monsters who only care about devouring souls. That and it make no sense for why Rumi’s mom fell in love with her dad in the first place if he turned out to be evil.

Discussion Does anyone else have this fear about the sequel?
OK, so whenever the sequel comes up and people start talking about what they do/don't want to see, I find it really difficult to figure out what I personally would like to see, which makes me feel a little bit nervous...like, where DO they go from here? What central conflict would add to the story in an impactful way and not just be a rehash of the first film?
I've been thinking about it a bit, and I feel like my nervousness stems from the idea that KPDH was probably originally meant to be a stand-alone film. If this is the case, the creators probably didn't develop it with the intention of it being just one part of a larger whole (not to sound too much like Han there...).
Like, if they ended the movie thinking they'd told the story they wanted to tell (albeit, maybe in a more rushed manner than they would've liked), I wonder if they'll find it difficult to figure out a truly satisfying and engaging path forward that adds to the charcters' arcs in a meaningful way?
Sometimes I almost feel like a prequel would be an easier film to make. There is a TON to be said about what happened with the Sunlight Sisters and Rumi's parents, and (based on the concept art at least) the creators have already thought about lot of these things through.
It's not that I don't trust in Maggie and Chris's vision and storytelling abilities, I just wonder if there's a direction the next film could go in that can hit as hard and resonate with people the same way the first one did (especially if the first film wasn't made with the intention of continuing the story and expanding the KPDH universe).
What do you all think? Feel free to tell me I'm crazy and the next film's gonna kick ass...
Edit: Really enjoying everyone's comments! You're all making some good points that make me feel a lot more hopeful about the sequel. Thank you for...well...telling me I'm crazy and the next film's gonna kick ass lol...

Discussion Why does the TWICE cover of Takedown get so much hate?
With the recent song rankings and discussions made by fantastic donut, I have seen the twice cover of takedown get a lot of hate. It was eliminated from the remaining songs left. Yeah I’m a Free hater and a lot of ppl can agree, but this one, gets a lot of hate from everyone.
But for me personally, I think it’s underrated. I listen to this version a lot more than the Huntr/x version in general. I’m not saying the other version is bad, but this version receives a lot of hate. Sure it’s not as raw or gritty as the Huntr/x version but that does not mean it’s a bad cover.
I’ve even seen videos of a lot of ppl get excited and scream at this song at the concerts, or that could also be ppl getting excited over the KPDH name being used in a concert setting.
I hope we get a similar type of song in the sequel for the credits where a major Kpop group does a cover of one of the songs in the soundtrack. It’s their choice if they want to bring twice back or not.

Discussion Why is Mira the least liked in the group?
For me, I related to Mira the most out of Huntrix. I love all the members and relate to them for different reasons but I loved and related to Mira the most in the movie in her subtleties and character expressions (though that really goes for all the girls). I noticed though in a lot of videos and polls that she tends to be the least liked out of the group. I’m really interested in people’s thoughts on this!

Discussion This scene man… gets me every time :‘(
"If that‘s the HonMoon I‘m supposed to protect, I‘m glad to see it destroyed" was such a hard hitting line too. Obviously she meant it differently, but at that moment I kinda thought she went full demon.

Discussion What are things do you think would ruin A Kpop Demon Hunters Sequel
Mine would be repeating the same plot as in the first film like another demon boy band competing against rhe Huntrix or making Celine the villian of the second movie

Discussion I just realized this-
I was rewatching “how it’s done” by HUNTR/X and when I got to Mira’s part (“fit check for my napalm era-“) when I saw this and slowed it down I just realized… WHY IS THIS GUY JUST LETTING HER SIT ON HIM?! Bro either is a SIMP or he’s more focused on the landing and where… bc there is NO WAY he DIDN’T notice her sitting on his back

Discussion I'll always wonder how being a Hunter works.
-Do they have to be women, or are they only women because the main trio was? -It's noticiable that it's not hereditary, so, if a Hunter choose someone to be a Hunter..they turn in a Hunter and can see the Demons?
Maybe they said something about that on movie and i dont know cuz i saw it on Spanish

Discussion Can we talk about Mira's "Agressive" reputation?
I don't understand why people seem so insistant on calling Mira aggressive or the mean one and similar things. Yes she calls herself aggressive but that's her own self image, not necessarily reflective of reality. In fact I find it very interesting that of all the girls Mira is the only one who DOESN'T hit the boys outside of combat, just glares and says she WISHES she could which is pretty understandable given she's having her personal space invaded by people she hates.
