Landlord keeps messaging me a last minute showings. I have accommodated 2 of them. But today she messaged me at 7am and saidso sorry, this is last minute I have a showing at 1:30pm and I said no I cannot accommodate today because I'm WFH and have meeting that time. And she site me a long message about tenant board regulation about she doesn't need to give me 24 hours notice if she needed to do a showing can be done around 8am-8pm.
Is there anything I can tell her. Like I still have 30 days in my apartment. I'm really trying my best to accommodate her showings.
More info: this apartment is a basically an open concept. There’s no door to close if needed a few minutes of privacy when A prospective tenant is viewing.

Man this is a super long shot but I’m
looking for a gal named Lori (I have no last name) from Kitchener Ontario who is around 61 or 62 now and who I dated in the summer of 1985 when I worked as a waterski instructor at McClintocks waterski school in Cambridge. Back then she was slender with blonde hair in a slight perm. I really should go through Kitchener high school year books to find her maiden name but I’m in Massachusetts with no access. Thanks!

Municipal elections were held yesterday. I’m starting to think people genuinely don’t care anymore.
I did more research on who I was voting for than my grandparents.
Is this not normal for my age group
Did you vote how old are you ? Jw if other 19-35 year olds cared to vote

I have a snow globe that’s very special to me, but the glass is broken; everything inside is still intact, but unfortunately the glass and the liquid are gone. Do you know of any specialty repair shops nearby?

As I am currently riding on a GRT ION, I really think that these should have more cars on them.
It is 6 PM on a Tuesday and we are jammed in like sardines, this is not safe imo.
Am I alone in these thoughts?

Not the pie, but a cake version, which apparently exists. Where should I hit up first, any suggestions??

Just moved to the area and wondering if anyone with curly hair has a salon or stylist they recommend? I searched for previous posts on this topic and it looks like a lot of the stylists people mentioned are either no longer in business or not accepting new clients.
Thanks in advance!

Kinda niche, but I (31M) really enjoy miniature painting figurines, though it is typically a solo hobby. Wondering if anyone has any ideas/recommendations on if there is a public space where people can work on general artistic projects together? I’m not necessarily looking for people to share the same hobby, though that would be cool too!
I’ve gone to cafes and libraries as it’s nice to be around people, but I’m still on my own. I’ve also tried going to places like Chimera Gaming where there is a miniatures community, but the hobby is understandably very focused on the gaming side.

I know we’re only at 43/44 polls counted, but I’m genuinely gutted. Voter turnout is on par/even lower than last election, and Berry is set for another four years. Also extremely disappointed with the re-election of the ward 6 councillor.
Update: and the results are in.

So apparently no right on red pilot program started today…noticed the signage up at Fairway/Lackner popped up! Also no “NEW” traffic signs either! So good luck one and all….its in for the year!
I swear I’m gonna cop so much road rage by following the road signs!
Edit: article links from June with possible “major intersections” deemed by the overlords. https://kitchener.citynews.ca/2026/06/02/region-could-test-no-right-turns-at-red-lights-at-major-intersections/

I’m currently living in Kitchener and have been thinking about moving to Ottawa sometime next year. I’d love to hear from people who have actually lived in both cities and can share their experience.
I work remotely and I don’t have kids, so I have quite a bit of flexibility about where I live. I’m not looking for a big party scene, I’m more interested in having a good quality of life, meeting people, making friends, and having enough things going on that the city doesn’t start feeling too small.
I really like some things about Kitchener/Waterloo, especially the tech ecosystem and how convenient it is to get around, but I’m curious about what living in Ottawa would actually be like day-to-day.
For anyone who has lived in both:
Which city did you enjoy living in more, and why?
How did you find housing and the overall cost of living?
Was it easier to meet people and build friendships in one city?
How do you find the variety of things to do: restaurants, breweries, events, outdoor activities, etc.?
How different is the overall vibe of the two cities?
For those in tech/cybersecurity, did you notice much of a difference professionally?
How much do you rely on a car in each city?
And most importantly: if you could choose again, would you make the same move?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who moved Ottawa → Kitchener/Waterloo or Kitchener/Waterloo → Ottawa, rather than general opinions about either city.
Thanks! I’d really appreciate any honest experiences, including things you didn’t like about either place.

I had an appliance guy come out to fix one of my appliances. It wasn't a complex job, he was able to fix it and he was plesent and did a good job. When I was set to pay he handed me the card reader and I was quite shocked to see tipping options? I am originally from Europe and I have used the services of handyman, electrician etc. And never had a request for a tip nor provided one. Is this normal? To tip a repair man from a company for an appliance repair ?

He also littered these pamphlets all over every floor in my building. Super unattractive move!

Hi r/kitchener,
Matt Parker, Ward 3 candidate.
I just want to do an obligatory "Get out and Vote!". Voter turn out in ward 3 in 2022 was 15%... Kitchener can do better than that.
I'm not going to tell you how to vote; my job is to give you another option and to hear you out. I've heard from hundreds of residents about a variety of concerns, and I hope those concerns bring you out to the polls.
If you still haven't, do some last minute research to better inform your vote. https://waterlooregionvotes.org is an excellent resource for that.
You've still got 3 hours to participate and make your voice heard. Vote your conscience, and do your duty for your city.
Sincerely,
Matt Parker

New paved multi-use path along University Ave. has utility poles in the middle of the path and elevated manholes. Yes, they paved around tge poles, but I don't understand why even bother when half of the path is going to be nearly unusable in these areas. At least a few areas have widened sidewalks, but it still looks like a botched and unplanned job left half-done.
At least it is better than the condition it was in before and gives high school students a better surface to get to school, but I can't get over the fact that this was the compromise they thought made sense. It was a needed piece of infrastructure, but ROW, you can do better.

Urgent help needed in rehoming/fostering a cat
Due to unforeseen Visa conditions I need to leave Canada in the next 5 days and have to leave my cat behind.
I am unable to know what the exact return date would be - but I should be back here by December mid week or early January.
I am seeking a temporary foster at this time for my cat- someone who can take his possession and take care of him while I am gone.
If interested please message me as it would help me out a lot.
