Scenario

Today was a tough day at work, and I’m feeling frustrated and mentally drained.

In the morning safety meeting, a situation from Friday was brought up, framing it as though I simply "hung up on a customer." It felt like an unfair attempt to put me down in front of everyone, especially with my supervisor not being there and someone acting in that position.

What makes it so exhausting is that the story was completely twisted. When I called the listed number that was in the utility company service order, the person who answered was the customer's nephew, who explicitly stated he had no contact number for the account holder. I said tgank you and ended the call—because without the account holder's authorization, there was no way to proceed. My colleague asked me if i was crazy and someone other things that i dont wish to repeat and he called the number back, and the nephew suggested we "jump over the wall" to get onto the property.

Choosing not to jump a perimeter wall or engage with an unauthorized, disrespectful individual wasn't a mistake—it was maintaining my personal safety, preventing illegal trespassing, and following proper utility protocol. Do you think I did the right thing or it could have been handled a different way

It hurt to sit there silently and feel ashamed when I knew I hadn't done anything wrong. But keeping my composure was the right move for the moment. I know the truth of how I handle my work: professionally, safely, and with integrity. Once my supervisor is back, I will set the record straight privately with the facts.

For now, I need to remind myself not to let other people's misrepresentations make me doubt my own judgment or competence. I did my job safely and correctly.

Shoe sole separated while at work

About 20 minutes into my work day my shoe decided to give out on me. I’m currently contemplating on taking them off at my desk however I’m nervous about my toes being out.

And yes I’m not wearing socks.

Edit: I ended up taking my shoes off, I hope I can glue sole back on!

This listing selling a racecar has AI sample images.

The same listing had some images that looked real (such as the photo that shows what's under the hood). I assume they're actually selling a car, but they used AI to make the photos look more cinematic. Which is sad, because if the listing isn't a scam, that means using AI was completely optional.

Are you going to park there, really??

Getting out of the gas station, I see this car actually parked there. Mind the several empty parking spots on the right side...

Netflix keeps pausing when I look away from the screen

I got a new tablet relatively recently and I turned off screen timeout which is the only option in settings that could possibly be related to this but no fucking luck it keeps happening; I have ADHD and I mostly wanted the background noise forcing me to look at the screen the whole time is killing me. I also posted this in mildly infuriating originally, because it's really not that big a deal, but the mods deleted it which is ironically also mildly infuriating.

The impact resulted in multiple facial fractures, the loss of several teeth, and permanent vision loss in one eye, requiring the implantation of a titanium plate

Michael Hart pleaded guilty to official misconduct and was sentenced to two years probation (not prison), resigned, and lost his pension. She received a $875,000 settlement

Following legal proceedings against the police department, Cassandra was awarded $810,000 in compensation

It's more expensive to take my dog to the vet to have 1 tooth extracted then it was for my horse to have his eye surgically removed and a 2 night stay with the vet.

Make that make sense to me, because i can't.

I have a senior dog, she has a bad tooth that needs to come out, im guessing its going to cost $300-400 max, so when the vet gives me an estimate of $900-1400 depending if more than 1 needs to come out i honestly thought she was kidding.

She. Was. Not.

This is rural Alabama. WHO in the podunk, redneck high hell is affording this?

One of my horses needed to have an injured eye removed, his entire bill after transport, surgery, and after care was pennies under $800.

My equine vet litteraly comes to me every 3 months, does a full check up, parasitic check, any vaccines that need to be updated, floats teeth for 6 horses and its half the cost of the single extraction.

I can not fathom how many people just cant swing it and opt to put their pet down.

Im so lucky that i can get my ol girl taken care of, so so lucky and im not throwing shade at anyone who couldn't

I just do not understand how that's remotely reasonable.

SO INFURIATING!

Former NFL QB and Current Analyst on ESPN earning $500,000/yr, asking for GoFundMe donations?! (On behalf of newly widowed sister)

BIL died suddenly, leaving wife (former QB’s sister) and 3 kids. Wife’s brother, with a net worth of around 5 million and salary of at least 500k, set up a GoFundMe account for his sister and kids.

I’m sure some will defend and justify it, but I find it mildly infuriating.

Purposely did not mention his name, as he genuinely seems like a good guy. But with that kind of money, I’d say it’s out of line to ask the general public to help out.

Filling up a tank of gas costs me almost twice as much as it used to

I spent the most amount of money yesterday EVER to fill up my car. Mind you... I've had my car for 7 years.

I'm lucky that I own a Prius that has good gas mileage and and a 11.9 gallon tank. A few years ago, it used to cost me ~$30 to put 9 gallons in my car. During the start of the iran war, the same amount of gas rose to $50ish. The other day, I spent $60 to put 9 gallons in my car.

This is insane

Intoxicated lady punches me through open window

Watch until the end!!!
Memorial Day a few years back a lady just walked up to my car window and hit me🥲 car was off so I couldn’t roll the window up lol. Only charged w harassment and a few hours at the station

Had a random gash in her arm and got blood in my eye— bunch of shots and a few weeks of antibiotics

Edit- For more context: I am the person IN the car getting hit, not recording lol. I am also not related to and had no idea who these people are. They were having a party across the street and she stumbled into the parking lot.

I’m eating ice cream with the window down, family in the back seats. Person with the car key was still inside ice cream shop. Car was off so I couldn’t roll the window back up.

The person recording is her sister in law, the lady had been screaming/cursing/stumbling around for several minutes. Not the best place because it’s an ice cream store and Memorial Day weekend, so a bunch of kids saw it.

After she hit me she proceeded to physically assault a man I assume is her husband. Not sure why SIL recorded, maybe just for proof to show her when she’s not intoxicated; she mentioned that she “does this a lot” in terms of getting aggressive when drunk. SIL sent me the video and was very apologetic and wanted me to have evidence I guess.

Best part: I didn’t drop or spill any of the ice cream I was eating 🙏🙏🙏

TL;DR: I’m the one in the car. Don’t know these people. Person recording was lady’s SIL.

A man was fined £500 after putting his empty coffee cup into a rubbish bag beside an overflowing public bin

"I was outside London Waterloo railway station and was looking for a bin to dispose of an empty coffee cup"

"The only bin I could see was completely full, but there was a plastic bag containing rubbish at the base"

"I put my cup in that bag and was stopped by an enforcement officer, who had been standing at a distance watching the bin. He told me I had violated the law and refused my offer to remove my cup. He asked for my details, including my passport"

"After printing out a penalty notice, he remained in the same spot watching the overflowing bin. It seemed like a set-up"
