Trying to help keep the vinyl and mixtape culture alive by making sure I release my mixtapes on cassette only. All recorded from vinyl. Here is the promo video/snippet. Peep the description below ❤️

"DJ Dusty Platter returns with Volume 2 of his mixtape series, Another Joint. This volume takes on a different concept to the first volume but delivers the same result - another sure-shot mixtape packed full of  some of the dopest 90’s Hip Hop that you can hear!

Side A is dedicated to artists who released an album in the 90’s. However, rather than reaching for the obvious album tracks, DJ Dusty Platter has dug deep in his crates and pulled out tracks which are strictly non-album cuts. We’re talking joints that were released exclusively as 12-inches; B-side gems; tracks that were left off albums due to sample-clearance issues; original versions where the beat was later changed for the album; as well as a few cuts recorded specifically for soundtracks and compilations.

Side B focuses on artists who never released an album in the 90’s. Some of these artists dropped heavy-weight 12-inches or EPs, but, for various reasons, never got the chance to release a full-length of their own during those years. Others made their mark on sought-after and rare compilations, only to disappear before releasing anything else. Many of these artists were underground and fully independent, which often meant they were without the backing or resources needed to put out a full album.

Recorded all from vinyl, this mixtape is another heavy dose for the Hip Hop heads. Press play, turn it up, and be sure to keep it dusty."

A beautiful looking record. Recent repress of Aquemini, so far sounds good, but I don't have the OG press to compare it to

Cool piece with the Orginal Promo Flyer, found this at my local shop yesterday for a great deal.

Should I open it?

Definitely one of my grills I think definitely one of his top three albums. A great sophomore album solidified him as one of the goats.

Been waiting on this one! Sounds superb. I've yet to be disappointed with a June LP. About to catch a vibe while I watch tonight's games.

Can't find a lot of info online about this one. Seems pretty rare. He has a very similar sound to Eminem.

From the album “Hell On Earth”

from discogs “collection”. not sure everything’s logged but mostly. Some OG, some reissues, a few 12” and EPs.

If you do look at it and think of something that fits lmk.

Grabbed this among others at the Austin Record Convention yesterday. Always good to add a classic to the collection!

“Released in 2001, K-Otix’s full-length debut Universal offered a distinct perspective on Houston hip-hop, pairing jazzy production with thoughtful lyricism and an independent spirit that reached listeners far beyond Texas. Across 17 tracks, Mic and D’s sharp rhymes meet The ARE’s soulful, head-nodding grooves, with standouts including “U Know the Name,” “Mind Over Matter,” and “World Renown.”-Coalmine

“Doogan Records” in my hometown. I usually bring my spares or stuff I don’t listen to anymore right here. Always get a good price for my stuff. Seen this place transform over the years into this “feels like home” spot. Loads of vinyl off course, but also tapes, CD’s & books. And a very nice selection of recordplayers, speakers & amps. You can easily spend a couple of hours in here.

I found this at a recent vinyl event. A reminder of the album a lot of us hoped we’d get.

The latest Craft Single by The Alchemist, Nothing Is Freestyle, along with the 25th Anniversary repress of Jay-Z’s The Blueprint.

Recent Nature Sounds label reissue

This one here made me realize how big a difference your setup makes. Upgrading my stylus and adding a sub definitely gives this one a whole new life sonically. I've been considering selling this joint recently, but definitely leaning towards keeping it now!
