Notice: Spoiler Tags & The Movie Spoiler

**Right! Ah. Yes. If I might have everyone's attention. Just for a moment.**

It has come to my attention that certain members have already seen the film. Excellent. Very good. Shows initiative.

However, operational security must be maintained. Loose talk and all that. So, until Christmas: **ALL discussion of the film is to be kept behind spoiler tags.**

Not that I'm suggesting anyone here is incapable of discretion. Good Lord, no. Merely that some of us have yet to see it, and it would be rather a shame to have the whole thing... well... *revealed prematurely.*

Christmas seems an appropriate date to lift the restrictions. Season of goodwill. Celebrating tanks. That sort of thing.

Unless anyone feels that Christmas is too soon? Or too late? No. No, I've made my decision.

**Christmas it is.**

Right. Good. Glad that's settled.

*Was that sufficiently clear? I thought it was rather clear.*

Discussion If... and am just testing the waters as it were...

Right. Chin up. Deep Breath. One must approach these things properly.

Good Evening Redditors.

I say - with what I hope is appropriate composure: that as the film has officially begun filming (splendid show, everyone, simply splendid!) It o curs to me that this may present a rather unique opportunity for this fine community.

Namely - I propose: Ask Me Anything sessions with members of the cast.

Yes - Quite.

One imagines that morale would be considerably bolstered by the chance to engage directly with the actors responsible for bringing our beloved Button House back to life. Thoughtful conversations. ButtonFM. Civil conduct. No ambushes but perhaps some tortured poetry.

So to gauge the room as it were... Would we be interested in AMAs? And if so, with whom?

Question Would the film make sense to someone who hasn’t seen the TV series? NO SPOILERS

• Upvotes

Basically, my parents suggested going to see the film because me and my sibling like the tv series. My parents haven’t seen the series would it still make sense and be enjoyable?

They might be open to watching some of the tv series but I don’t think there’s time to arch the whole thing.

Please, no spoilers. I really want to enjoy the film when I see it.
Thanks!

10/10… AMAZING! Laughed then cried then laughed again. Missed this amazing bunch so much and they couldn’t have done any better than what they did. It was just perfect. I’m sad to say goodbye to them again but thankfully we’ve another option for a rewatch 🫶🏻

Discussion Can you settle a bet - small spoiler for the film Spoiler

My wife is sure we found out the captains name in the episode about his death, I don't think we had found out until the film.

On a separate note during filming do you think all the actors who haven't been on taskmaster have to sit on their own table

movie spoilers RED LEVER! The one thing I would change about the movie (obviously spoilers) Spoiler

So the film is absolutely brilliant but I think they missed a trick by not having the possessed kids sit down in the Button House kitchen for a meal. Pat getting to have a scotch egg was that blend of heartwarming and hilarious that is the signature for these 6 Idiots, and then we had the lovely moment with Jack leaving his phone for Kitty, but it would have also been so sweet to see them finally get to have a real food club together as a family.

Also did anyone spot any mention of Mary anywhere? Surprised it never came up, especially considering the houses for mouses.

Discussion Movie question - what song is that

Just been to see the movie and first of all - wow, 10 out of 10, I immediately want to rewatch it.

And secondly what on earth was that song where Jack leaves his phone at the house for Kitty and the two dance around?

Cannot get it out of my head !!

Question Ghosts film - family friendly?

Husband and I really want to see the new film. We have an almost 4 year old. She’s been to cinema before - saw shawn the sheep recently.

Showcase description says its family friendly. If you’ve seen it - is it suitable for a 3 year old?

We don’t want her to get a fright. Equally we don’t want to disturb other film watchers.

We’d probably go to an early Sunday showing.

movie spoilers RED LEVER! Movie - Caps Badge Spoiler

Post image
13 Upvotes

For anyone wondering what the badge Cap and Havers was wearing in the movie, during the Eagles Nest scene. It is 10th Anti-Aircraft Division.

10th Anti-Aircraft Division was formed on 1st Nov 1939, and was responsible for the anti-aircraft defence of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. This would have involved anti aircraft guns, searchlights and all other related equipment. They were disbanded Oct 1942, as anti-aircraft command was reorganized to more closely align with RAF fighter command.

Why two soldiers from anti-aircraft would be doing what Cap and Havers were up to, I have no idea. Also not sure why they would wear black berets. Being a dream as such though means we can probably ignore any inaccuracies.

I don't think they had any other badges that would need identifying, but if there are, if someone can get a screenshot, I can ID those too.

The film is officially the UK’s number one!

£2.4 million as opening weekend totals!! ($3.2 in US)

If you haven’t gone to see it yet (and have the ability to do), please do pop down to your local cinema to see it!

It’s such a fantastic film for the whole family and you don’t need to have seen the show to understand.

Proud of all involved, and they’re so deserving of this acclaim!

Mat, Simon, Martha, Laurence and Ben have all shared their thanks via their social media platforms! Please go hop to IG, Bluesky or Twitter to congratulate them!❤️

Spoilers I really like how the trailers haven't spoiled the second half of the film

Having watched the trailers and clips released with cast interviews etc, I thought I already knew the basic plot of the film - Julian possesses a boy, goes to get Alison and Mike, and they have to get him back before the boy's spirit dies. But none of the trailers show any clips of the rest of the ghosts possessing the children and leaving Button House. I genuinely didn't see it coming, and the moment when they're climbing through the fence and become the ghosts in the children's clothes getting onto the bikes was wonderful. I'm so pleased that the trailers didn't give that away, or the rest of the adventures they have.

Now I'm wondering whether I can wait until it comes onto iPlayer or whether I need to go and see it in the cinema again. It was fantastic!

movie spoilers RED LEVER! Movie Spoilers - A small detail about Humphrey Spoiler

A small detail from the film I liked is when the ghosts are waiting at the main gate for Julian & co. to return. Humphrey's head is up a tree looking for Alison's car - a green Peugeot - and he repeatedly struggles to say it, pronouncing it phonetically (pujot).

This is, of course, because Humphrey is absolutely terrible at French in both life and death! I thought that was really good canon continuation. There are so many small details in the film that I feel would take a re-watch to pick up!
