Hi,

I missed my midterm last week on Thursday because I got in a car crash where the guy drove off and needed to make police statements and get medically evaluated. I emailed the teacher about this and she said it was fine and to make up the test at the test centre within the next 5 days as per the course policy. The test centre conflicted with the policy and needed a minimum of 7 days between the date you booked the make-up and the date you’ll write the make-up. I emailed the teacher about this and she said she’d have to give me a 0%, but I did all I could to try and rebook the test, it’s the testing centre’s inability to accommodate? Who can I escalate this to? The midterm is worth 25% of my grade. I’m doing very well in all my other classes and do not want a 0% on my grade book….

Do i just have to deal with it 😢 between the car crash and my mid-terms this is beyond stressful and I thought my situation would be better understood.

Hi all, I’m taking online pre-med and I had done all my tests for midterms last Thursday for my math and chemistry course and I got a notification saying it’s overdue and that I can no longer hand it in when I had handed it in last week I have done decently well, I’m unsure of what to do about this I noticed my chemistry teacher had explained that only 15 out of I believe 32 people had handed it in but I know that I had done it and turned it in and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do about this circumstance if it’s a tech issue or if anyone else has this issue?

It’s always been offered at the Orillia campus. Now it’s saying theory classes are in Barrie but for the practical clinic days you still have to go to Orillia.

Most students are in no position to afford a car. What is the logic behind changing this until the clinic is finished being built so the program can be completed entirely at the Barrie campus?

I feel like this must have screwed over the entire cohort of students that were accepted for 2026, as well as makes the program extremely inaccessible for new potential applicants.

I'm currently taking a one year Electrical Techniques program at Georgian College in Ontario, Canada.

I've been doing pretty well in my other courses, including electrical labs, math, English, and health and safety. However, I'm really struggling with drafting, especially AutoCAD 2027.

I've been trying my best to understand how to use AutoCAD, but honestly, I'm completely lost. Even when I practice at home, I still have trouble figuring out how to create drawings and use the commands properly.

I'm worried that I might fail drafting, even if I pass all my other courses. I really want to become an electrician and eventually get into an apprenticeship.

I'm deaf, so I learn best through visual demonstrations, screenshots, and step-by-step instructions.

Is there anyone here who's experienced with AutoCAD drafting and willing to help me learn the basics? I'm also open to finding a tutor, preferably around Midland or Barrie, Ontario, or someone who can teach online.

I'd really appreciate any advice, tutorials, or help. I don't want to give up on my electrical career just because I'm struggling with one course.

I’ve been in Barrie for a bit now and noticed that while we have some cultural groups, there isn't really a dedicated space for East and Southeast Asian students to connect. Given how many Filipino, Chinese, Korean, and other East/Southeast Asian students are around campus and the area, I’ve been thinking about starting up an East & Southeast Asian Student Association (ESASA).

(Just to clarify, I know there's already an Indian Student Association for South Asian students, but I want to build a space specifically focused on East/Southeast Asian cultures!)

The main idea is to build a fun, social space where people can hang out, make friends, and celebrate events together—from Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival to Filipino cultural nights, food meetups, social mixers or any other cultural holiday! It’d be open to anyone who wants to join and learn about culture!

For anyone who has started a club through the GCSA or local community:
1. How hard is the process overall? (Paperwork, GCSA approval, etc.)
2. Reaching people: What’s the best way to get the word out on campus initially?
3. Tips for first-time founders: Anything you wish you knew?

I'm trying to decide which elective to take. My options aren't great in my opinion. I am interested in these two but would love some feedback on each.

I'm doing pre health and aiming for very high grades so I don't want to screw myself with a heavy course.

How difficult did you find them? How heavy was the course load? Any teachers that were brutal? What did assignments and tests look like (videos, essays, short answer tests or multiple choice etc)? Any other insights would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I'm going to college for the first time as a mature student. I'm doing Georgians pre health program starting in January. I got myself excited about the electives because I really wanted to take Abnormal Psychology. In my Georgian account I clicked on View Recommended Courses for Term and its not listed there...is it possible to still do it or does this mean it's not offered in my program at all? This is what was shown. Positive Psychology was my backup but I think I'd absolutely thrive in Abnormal Psych.

I'm starting Georgians pre health program and hoping to go into ultrasound. I'm pretty nervous because I know ultrasound programs are extremely competitive. I'd want probably mid 90s average to be considered. How difficult did you find this program? I'm a mature student and still need to work on top of it. I have a pretty flexible job in a restaurant. I'm nervous about keeping up and actually getting the grades I need. Has anyone else gone into ultrasound, whether through this program or otherwise? What was your average?

Hello everyone!

I’m an RPN student at Georgian College going into 2nd year, 3rd semester in December. My school gave us a freaking 4 month break 😭 and honestly at this point it’s driving me crazy because I feel like I’m forgetting everything.

I really want to use this time to get a grip on the upcoming semester instead of walking into class feeling completely lost 😂

For anyone who has already completed this semester (especially Georgian students) could you please guide me on what topics I should review from my Fundamentals of Nursing textbook to be better prepared and hopefully score well?

If there are any specific fundamentals, skills, concepts, conditions, medications or nursing topics you wish you had reviewed beforehand, I would really appreciate your recommendations!

Also, if anyone is willing to share study guides, notes, old resources or PDFs of relevant textbooks/materials that you’re allowed to share. I would be extremely grateful. ❤️
