Question Two Burley trailers, free to a good home
I’ve gotten no interest on fb marketplace and they’ve sat still for too long. They’ll go to someone who’ll use them, not a reseller.
Burley Flatbed - I do not have the hitch for this. Tires seem to hold air.
Burley Travoy - I do have the seat post hitch for this one. Comes with upper market bag, lower market bag, those little flaps that keep the lower bag from rubbing the tires, and a waterproof cover. Tires seem to hold air.
Both had light use, always stored in garage and attic. Pickup in Plano. Happy riding!

Discussion 1963 Schwinn American 2 speed back on the streets
I recently bought a dude out who is quitting the old bike hobby. He wanted everything gone. This included most of a 1963 Schwinn American bike in prices. So I gathered it all up and cleaned and detailed and assembled to make a nice bike. I had to use a few minor things out of my parts stash.
It has the Bendix 2 speed kickback rear hub and brand new tires so it’s an easy smooth and quiet rider.
Now to put some shakedown miles on it, enjoy the sun, wave at dogs, and pet kitties.

Discussion Not gonna get any better weather than now.
Riding around Eagle Mountain Lake on my 100 dollar antique Schwinn. A guy doesn’t need an expensive bicycle to enjoy some alone time on a quiet road to keep the old head space clear of static.

Road Richardson Tuesday evening social ride - now with pleasant weather
Isn't it nice to step outside and your face doesn't catch on fire?
It's great weather for a nice social slow bike ride, exploring Richardson's quieter, bike friendlier streets.
Let's get out and enjoy it.
Meet at 6:30pm at The Bike Shop (75 at Arapaho)
1002 N Central Expy Ste 116, Richardson, TX 75080
https://maps.app.goo.gl/fopKPnyXyQ6UCgkU6
We'll ride for about 10 miles. Nobody left behind.
Most likely we'll have an ice cream stop.
Bring lights, it'll be dark when we get back.
See you there!

Road New to road biking
I'm very familiar with the local MTB and eMTB scene in N.Texas. Been really rejoying riding White Rock with my XC mtb, Northshore, Harry Moss, etc.
My three MTBs have all been SRAM UDH AXS with 12 speeds and have done all the builds and painting, etc. myself and have spare parts, tools know how etc. to install and service.
Now I'm doing an Aero/Gravel bike for the winter months and faster rides, change of pace, etc. and have most of it figured out except for drive train. The frame allows for both options but I have not bought any of the groupset parts yet.
I have never owned nor ridden a road bike so do really know what they mean when folks say there are not enough gears with 1x. I understand the concept but just have not experienced it.
Like 100% of road bikers I see around here use hanger based 2x systems and yes I check about about everyone one I can observe. I have not scene a 1x UDH road bike around here personally but surely they exist.
Here is my question to y'all, if I went with a 13 speed UDH setup 1x (which is all I know) and like a 44 tooth ring should I be fine for normal rides and some group stuff around here or will I regret not having the 2x options?
TIA!

Question Renting a bike in Fort Worth
My gf and I will be visiting family (hers) in Fort Worth in a few weeks. Im an avid rider (4 to 5 thousand miles a year) She's - come a long way, and enjoys it.
We'd love to spend at least a few hours of the trip riding, and the Trinity Trail looks nice.
But, I called Colonel Bikes, they said they don't rent, and that no other shops in Fort Worth rent. We're flying in, and no, we're not going take our bikes on the plane. Im pretty sure her family doesn't have bikes that would fit, if they have any at all (and would probably need a tune up) Unless someone knows a bike shop that does rent, our choices are to rent and ride in Dallas, but that will be inconvenient, or to use bike share. Ive used bikeshare elsewhere, she hasn't.
Your helpful thoughts are appreciated.

Discussion Parking
I just started riding recently. I have one of those chain locks but unfortunately haven’t gotten to use it bc I forgot to consider: a car centric city like Dallas isn’t going to have many places to park /rack your bike. It seems like my side of town has zero! It’s insane and also quite infuriating. Is there an interactive map or some kind of app I’m not aware of where we can track places that have bike parking? I tried using google maps view to see outside of places but it’s not really helpful.

Question In town for a conference and looking for routes
Hello,
I have been searching for some good safe routes road/gravel and would like to start from the hotel I am staying at. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of options from the hotel. I would like to be around 30-40 miles per ride. I will be staying at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Marriott Hotel & Golf Club Champions Circle 300 Championship Pkwy Fort Worth TX 76177. If anyone has any recommendations for safe routes that would be great! Thanks.

Discussion I wish there were more antique bike people in this area to hang out with
I wish there were more like minded people around here that were into old bicycles. It gets lonely being the only weirdo.
Lately I’ve been tweaking and adjusting on my 1949 Schwinn New World that I just built up.

Road Relocating to Dallas: where to live for cycling prioritization
Early 40s moving down to DFW area for work.
Would love to find a neighborhood that:
- Is conducive to early morning rides: ideally can bike from my residence, but a drive somewhere with easy parking for riding and I could then drive to work after with the bike (showers on-site at office).
- I'd love to be able to get in a solid 60+ minutes, all the better if there are group rides i could join . I have looked at White Rock Lake, but getting to Las Colinas anytime after 7am from there seems too brutal for me. AI seemed to indicate there are some 'trail' systems that could work. Alternatively, can drive towards Las Colinas early and ride around there if that's an option.
- I'm coming solo, so a 'vibrant' neighborhood would be great: Early 30s-ish and up would be optimal.
That's basically it. Fun, safe, urban-ish neighborhood that's conducive to cycling and commuting to Las Colinas. But honeslty i'm open to any advice as i'm beyond lost trying to figure out where to live aorund here (Bishop Arts, Addison, Uptown/Turtle Creek: they aint near each other!)
Greatly appreciated and hope to see y'all out there!

Road East Dallas Beginner
I live in East Dallas, a couple miles east of White Rock Lake. I am 55, and started cycling for health a year ago. I currently have a nice look in my neighborhood that is 1.4 miles that doesn't have a ton of traffic, but does have a fair number of cars parked omn the road. I currently bike 3 to 5 times a week, for thirty minutes to an hour.
As the weather cools, I am looking to go one longer rides, and want to not have to do the same loop over and over, and want to worry less about parked cars and traffic.
I am close to the White Rock Trail, and the Santa Fe Trail (I can either drive to the trail head or ride to the trail head, though I am not super comfortable riding in traffic)
For a person who wants to start doing 10 to 30 mile rides, rides 13 to 16 mph, rides alone, and doesn't really want to ride on surface streets, would those two trails be appropriate, especially if used mid morning on work days (10 am to 1 pm)? Or would there be too many pedestrians, dogs, and kids to ride peacefully?

Road Southlake/Grapevine Group Rides
I’ve been a long time solo road cyclist and now I’m looking for group rides around Southlake/grapevine area. I see lots of groups in mornings/evenings but can’t seem to ever catch one to ask details. And for some reason—maybe I am blind or just bad—I haven’t had a ton of luck finding stuff online. Photo for engagement.

Road I am planning a loop around Dallas route this weekend. Can anyone provide feedback regarding the route through Irving highlighted below?

I have already ridden most of this path (White Rock Creek, SOPAC, Santa Fe, Trinity Skyline and Northaven Trails) but have never gone through Irving. Can I get some feedback on the route from the Dallas Trinity Skyline Trail, then going north through Irving, then turning east on Royal? Is this a sketchy and/or traffic- dangerous area for a solo cyclist?
