The [Weekly Pull List results]() for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Absolute Batman #25.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Absolute Batman #25 or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.

Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

Question WHO IS THIS GUY???

My son and I were looking at the Arthur Adams Marvel Omnibus, and we both burst out laughing at this drawing for some reason.

This character with the green hair is right in the middle...but who IS he?

We were calling him Blake and laughing hysterically. At one point he said, "Mom, can we get the Blake game for my Blake Station?"

If anyone knows who this character is, please let us know!

News Groundbreaking Web Serial 'Worm' Is Becoming a Comic Book

“After enduring a brutal and bloody bullying scandal, Taylor finally has the power to fight back: With her newly triggered ability to control insects, she could prove everyone wrong and become a hero… or kill anyone who stands in her way.”

“In a world of superpowered gang members, fanatical cults, and ruthless serial killers, Taylor must navigate the dangerous politics and unwritten rules of the local ‘cape’ scene, where the line between hero and villain is anything but clear. For Taylor, perhaps, least of all. Will she risk everything to save others, or use her power to exact revenge on those who’ve wronged her?”

Added IDW executive editor Heather Antos, “Worm is such a fresh and compelling take on the superhero genre, challenging what it means to be a hero or a villain, and whether right and wrong are always so black and white when you’re fighting for what you believe is good. Getting to collaborate with series creator John McCrae to bring this incredible world to comics with IDW is an absolute thrill, and it’s especially exciting that this project came to IDW through series editor and IDW associate editor Cassandra Jones, whose own personal connection to the story first introduced us to it, and the team has already done an excellent job bringing the characters to the comics page.”

if you've never heard of this series, do keep an eye out! it's a very interesting take on superheroes as a genre and definitely worth giving a look

an article from Worm's author about the whole thing

Help me find comics like Batman: the long halloween

I was just done reading batman: the long halloween and i am now on the lookout for something with a similar vibe. Doesn't necessarily have to be a batman story, what i am looking for is specifically the feeling that it gives. I really like the kind of true crime feeling of the story, i really enjoyed the dark themed, rainy noir detective vibe that it gave, and the artstyle perfectly supports that. I really enjoyed the artstyle of the panels where we see holiday taking the life of another victim where the colors turn black and white. Also i prefer reading physical copies of the comic, so no digital exclusive comics. Thank you.

Been rereading The Question from Dennis O'Neil and Denys Cowan and it's insane (and sad) how relevant it still is, nearly 40 years later. Always a good time reading this masterpiece of a run.

THE LITTLE MONSTERS - GOLD KEY COMICS - 1964-1978

This period of little kids comics was insane. The titles were completely defanged, the stories & jokes were horrible, but the covers, particularly the colors used were amazing blasts of energy. Inside the color was dulled by the newsprint & the childish stupidity was interrupted by ads that contained obvious references to more adult behaviors than were ever presented in the comics themselves (I’m thinking of Boon’s Farm & Master & Slave t-shirts in particular.). But it was the Gen X mix that made us, a special blend of negligence & exploitation, it makes movies like Taxi Driver make complete sense. Funnily enough, this comic was a spin off from the Three Stooges comic, the characters are so uncharismatic, it’s amazing. x SEAN

Suggestions Looking for Era-Specific Comics for Thesis Research

Hello everyone! As the title says, I'm looking for specific comic recommendations I can put towards my senior research thesis. My thesis is going to be about the evolution of the archetype of Nazi characters in American comics, specifically. I have nearly every decade filled so far, but im struggling to find titles to use for the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

To keep variety, I'm trying to avoid only using Marvel or DC titles, hence my current hiccup. To make matters more complicated, it can't just be a background character. It has to have a character that is named, present, and reoccurring (i.e, Red Skull, Captain Nazi, ect). To be very clear, I'm looking for recommendations OUTSIDE of Marvel and DC, if at all possible.

I'm really struggling with this however. Should I just stick to the big two for these eras? Please let me know if you have any ideas or recommendations. Thanks so much!

Edit: No Garth Ennis texts!! I've already chosen a text from him and I need the variety so I have a good range for my project, lol.

Edit 2 for clarification: They have to be clearly identified as a Nazi character, whether through imagery or explicit mentions. There can't be an ambiguity, metaphors, ect. I know it's really specific, hence why I'm coming to you guys for help.

Chris Ware is back next month! I know its a little niche, but Ware is a really important author for indie comics and this week I found out he is coming back to his Acme novelty library series. Someone else likes his work?
