For some reason, this team's best ability to thrive is when there is no margin for error (if they don't just collapse but that's not fun to think about).

This whole season this team has responded to adversity. Whether it was injuries, pitching struggles, offensive droughts, or defensive miscues, they found a way to claw back.

From early September in 4th place in the division, to down 0-2 and headed on the road in the ALDS, to down 0-2 in Game 1 and 2-1 in Game 3....this team has found a way.

All that said, at the end of the day, this run may end shy of a WS title. Which at this stage would of course be disappointing, no question. Some of us have started to hope and dream, snag WS tickets, talk about "destiny" etc.

But I think some people lose sight of the fact that postseason baseball is truly the best of the best of the best in the world, in an already astronomically difficult game. Pitching is better. Hitters are better. Defenses are better.

Not every play that doesn't go the way of the Guards is due to a player or manager mistake (granted, some are of course). Sometimes the other guy/team is/was just better in that moment. And that's how it goes.

I understand the trauma we've all been through over decades as Cleveland fans. The drive, the shot, the fumble, the rain delay, etc...

But dammit if this isn't still so fun! 30th/30 payrolls. Nearly half of our HR hitting production was sidelined in the same game this summer.

Some solid additions and good dudes joined the squad at the deadline. Down to the wire for the division. Back against the wall for the DS. Taking the CS to at LEAST 6 games when seemingly everyone and their cousin predicted a sweep or 5 games for the Rays.

I work at a Starbucks and José came in today and I couldn’t find something for him to sign so I grabbed a sandwich bag 😅 nobody else seemed to notice but I was freaking out

2019- Yankees made post season, CLE did not

2020- Yankees eliminate Cleveland in COVID playoffs

2021- Yankees made post season, Cleveland did not

2022- Yankees beat Cleveland in ALDS 3-2

2023- Yankees eliminated from playoff hunt ONE DAY after Cleveland was eliminated

2024- Yankees beat Cleveland in ALCS 4-1

2025- Yankees advance to ALDS, Cleveland does not

That would be a hell a WS and a statement from our market sizes to the league. And should play a hell of a WS together!
